      Traffic in Manhattan is gridlock at least 12 hours of the day.....on a weekend. Forgey it. It could take you an hour to drive around the block. No exaggeration. 99% of the time they don't have anywhere to go. Or have no choice but to wait until the light changes to make room for traffic to pull over. Not to mention the pedestrians.....parking. lmao 🤣 what parking....that will cost an arm and a leg. This is why 90% of people in NYC don't even own a car. The train or bus is the best option.

      This is Manhattan. Its gridlock for at least 12 hours of the day. Most of the time they don't have room to even move 3 feet. It could take an hour to go around the block. I see it all the time. Its frustrating, but they are literally stuck.....

    The hostage negotiation team probably responded because it was an all hands on deck situation, they needed all the help they can get in case it was a terrorist attack. But you caught amazing footage of all of the kinds of rare units responding to the scene, very very crazy that this occurred.

      You're welcome. Keep up the good work. I've also started filming my PD and EMS as well as the fire department, whenever you'd like, you can see my videos of them responding or on scene of many things so you can get an idea of how mine operates. I'm not asking you to view my videos as a beggar, I am simply saying on your own behalf if you'd like, you may check them out, since long ago you told me to start filming my PD because there's no good videos out there of them.
      So I took your advice, and I did so, and I've gotten some awesome shots. I have many more pictures and videos in my collection stored on devices, but they have yet to be uploaded to UA-cam. My father and I plan to go to NYC someday and get all the cool shots of emergency services responding downtown. Regardless, keep up your good work and continue with the unbiased awesome footage!

      @THEMAJESTIRIUM1  7 років тому

      OK.

    • @JoeBlac
      @JoeBlac 6 років тому

      Why? They aren't in the way. They are being moved because the cops want to shield the survivors. But the cops didn't explain that, instead they gave a false excuse, "for your safety." You might think it's pretty tasteless to film people in distress, but no one at the scene at that time knew what was going on.
      If you allow people to block the press, you risk blocking the truth. I'm sure those that were filmed being wrongly attacked by the police were thankful that the person filming did not turn a blind eye. And after the Boston Marathon bombing, police requested photos and video, which helped the investigation.

      In the first 29 minutes of footage by John, I've counted at least 150 responding vehicles ( In the first 9 minutes of footage, approx. 40 to 50 at least already present 1st responding vehicles ) Since John arrived (18 mins after the 1st 911-call I presume) and in the following 20 minutes of his footage, over a hundred of "official cars" etc. rushing in...
      So it was an awful lot of responding vehicles.
      Which is totally reasonable in case of a terrorist attack. The only thing I don't understand is, Whitin minutes after the first "1st Responders" had arrived at the scene, they'd had the option to declare over the radio it wasn't a terrorist-attack, but a well planned vehicular manslaughter, ( Forgive me my bad English, for being Dutch in this case), so why such a massive amount of euhm .. "late arriving officials" by car, when the threat of "some terrorism" already could be eliminated in a pretty early stage?
      Nevertheless: It was an horrific and sickening, brutal attack on innocent people walking!!
      Hopefully the "drunk/drugged" driver, will be put behind bars for the rest of his life, not ever seeing the light of day anymore! ( Which he took from the eyes of the person that died by his action)

    The incident happened may 18 2017
    A man high on pcp drove on the side walk and mowed down 22 people
    1 died instantly
    4 were in critical condition
    At first it was thought it was a terrorist attack but they don't think that now
    It happened in times Square NYC around noon when many people were out and about because it was a beautiful day
    When the first calls went out it was a critical incident and all hands on deck signal was given
    That is why you see so many units arriving way after the original incident
    State police units
    NYPD units
    Atf units were on scene because at first it was believed that there might be a bomb in the car
    Fbi were on scene immediately
    Along with the esu units with the NYPD
    Fire and first aid units
    If i missed someone let me know 💯

    I don't understand the people walking around like nothing is going on. People when they hear a first responder should 🛑 STOP, LOOK, GET OUT OF THE WAY! Be mindful that they are going to someone or something more important than your needs at the time! Always remember, it could be YOU waiting on that ambulance 🚑, police 🚓 or firetruck 🚒🚑 to rescue you or your family member! Love first responders because they are the heroes!!!! 🙏❤️🇺🇲

      That depends on what you mean by terrorism. I hope you mean that it was sort of generic terrorism in the sense that it instilled terror and not the Islamic terrorism definition which is to influence politics. Because this dude wasn't a terrorist and wasn't Muslim.

    Unbelievable that he did this on purpose... Saw video of surveillance cams which have shown how that started. He was driving normal and then he made a u-turn and ran the people over with high speed. Unbelievable... Our thoughts are with you in NYC. Take care my friend and no worries about that you could'nt reach the blocked scene. You did a great job and the videowork is great as usual from you.

    You just never know what nuts are roaming the streets. All cities have their share. I have walked those streets many times but always try to think "what I would do just in case". From early reports I was reading, I thought he had turned down the new plazas and headed north. Wrong way on 7th. Wow. Hate to say it, but that's one day you wish there had been some south bound traffic gridlock to keep this nut from going the wrong way. Hope he is put away for a long time. Prayers to the survivors and the family of the young lady that was killed.
