    How much would you use for a horse sized halter? Or with each different size, 2 Ft more? Or is that too much? A ft? I make all different sizes of halter and not sure how much I should change the measurement fir each size so I’m not wasting

    Super helpful video! Could I weave this on a nylon standard halter too? Not just a rope one.

    • @Peacedonkeys
      @Peacedonkeys  4 роки тому

      g'day lena, yes, you can, but you will probably need more paracord since it is wider than a rope halter, you will need to experiment a bit to see how much cord you need. maybe use 4 feet of cord and see how many inches it covers, then multiply that by how long your hoseband is. all the best.

    is the paracord gentler than the regular rope halter noseband (without extra knots)

    • @Peacedonkeys
      @Peacedonkeys  5 років тому

      hi Autumn, no, it is no gentler, and I find that riding with it is harsher than plain halter, but just for leading your horse around it is ok.

    Do you have any recommendations on how to create the "fringe" look when creating paracord tack?

    • @Peacedonkeys
      @Peacedonkeys  5 років тому

      Hi Sierra, I'm not really a fringe girl, so no I don't really, but if you have a look around Pinterest you will see quite a lot of fringe tack just adds in short pieces of paracord to their weave with a cow hitch/larks head knot, and I have also seen some with an extra granny knot on top of the initial knot to prevent it coming undone. I have also seen some with beads where they thread a strand through the braid, add beads, then tie a knot and melt the knot so id doesn't fray. all the best!

    I was wondering how much paracord you'd recommend for the different types of nosebands you've done (basic tight-weave + cross patterns from this video, snake, two-tone, + flame from some of your other videos) if someone was using this halter sizing chart? i.pinimg.com/564x/cd/17/15/cd1715558a179862faba9a4342a2ee43.jpg

    • @Peacedonkeys
      @Peacedonkeys  6 років тому

      hi kip, i have put the cord amounts at the start of most of those videos i think. I just had a quick look at the two tone one again and i listed the cord amounts for three different size nosebands. you'll have to adjust up or down for the larger or smaller ones than listed There is only a couple of inches difference between all the different sizes so there won't be a lot in it. ua-cam.com/video/a9fCQabWQ_g/v-deo.html All the best!

    how many feet would u use for a regular size rope halter

    • @Peacedonkeys
      @Peacedonkeys  8 років тому

      hi lacey, not sure what you mean by 'regular size'. halter sizes are usually termed mini, pony, cob and full, depending on how big the horse's head is. This was a cob size, so you will use a few feet more for a bigger halter, and a few feet less for a smaller one.

    • @laceybryan9725
      @laceybryan9725 8 років тому

      It fits a grown through bred / paint

    • @Peacedonkeys
      @Peacedonkeys  8 років тому

      What size halter is your horse currently wearing? if it is a cob, then you will use the same as in the video, if it is a full, you will need a few feet more, say around 15 feet of paracord should cover the noseband - experiment with more, and you can cut off the excess, rather than get to the end and you don't have enough.

    • @laceybryan9725
      @laceybryan9725 8 років тому

      I use to different halters

    • @Iris-yl3gm
      @Iris-yl3gm 6 років тому

      measure your rope halter nose band (very top knots) so u know how much longer or shorter it is. for example mine is 13 inches instead of 9 so im gonna cut off at least 4 extra feet so i wont run out ;) i have an already cut 16ft of rope so i am able to test out size without wasting rope ill comment if 16 works

    • @Peacedonkeys
      @Peacedonkeys  8 років тому

    • @syoncav
      @syoncav 5 років тому

      Its much easier to use a small bbq lighter to melt the ends. And you can use the sides of your scissor blades to smooth the melted end. I buy my cord from Cams Cord. Make sure you buy US made cord as its much nicer to work with than cheap stuff made in China.
