Coming SOON from SMD D'Amore Engineering......a high quality volt meter. Also will be available for 16/19v setup's. When we first started showing this piece, some people asked how ours could be better then their favorite brand "digital" readout. Its simple. First of all, our unit does not take samples and then generate a readout. That is too slow. The SMD VM-1 is full analog and reacts instantly to voltage changes where the other "brand x" is still thinking about what it wants to do. 2nd reason our product is better, build quality. I don't know how many of those "brand x" voltage meters broke for NO reason but i have never had one last more then a few months. Ours should give you many years of trouble free service. Visit www.damoreengin... for more product info!

+Joe Physics "a kid can make this as a high school project" yet you can't....so if i am a novice and you can't do it, what does that make you? And don't show me your lame breadboard with a bunch of shit plugged in. If you think you are good, make a real one that is fully ready to go to market. I have sold a couple thousand of these. I know what it takes. The only thing you know is how to turn a computer on and troll youtube.
For the price difference the low priced one isn't a bad choice for a starter. Your products are amazing just out of the price range
thanks man! keep in mind, we are making these a few hundred at a time. When we can make them a couple thousand at a time, that gives us room to make the price better. Bringing things like this to the market costs a lot of time and MONEY so we will be in the hole for a long time before we make a nickel. That is one thing people dont tend to realize. Thanks for the post man!
This SMD voltage meters are very high quality I've had 1 for 3 years and it's still working perfectly
i saw ours move back and forth 2 times, almost 3 times before the other one knew what hit it......so the value is accuracy. If accuracy doesn't matter then you might not see the value in it. Also, we aren't trying to reinvent the wheel. Its just another CHOICE of VM that will be out there on the market. At least its unique......
already in the works. Please guys, its a prototype. Its not ready for release yet. The numbers will be readable.
I bought this voltmeter and I have to say I love it! Very accurate, tells me the real drop as soon as it happens unlike the digital one.
I've been checkin out your vids for a few years now man and I have to say, I couldn't want anything more for you!! Your own tools and products now?! Hell yes man, keep up the amazing work and don't let anything get in your way. Seeing you come this far is truly amazing man, mad props!!
the other brand did not even drop as far as the voltage dropped. I did it in slow mo to show you the difference because it is hard to watch both at the same time. If you don't want to buy it, i really could care less, thanks anyway.
i hope to sell it for $69.99 - but of course there will be a sale and hopefully a pre-order with savings soon. It seem's expensive but we are making these a few hundred at a time, not a few million at a time. We are still small and parts are expensive for us too :D thanks for the interest bro!
meade916 make an install video!
You are more than welcome. It's about time someone put out some quality, reliable, and accurate products. You and the D'Amore team are really doin it big! Very much appreciated
yes, that is in the plans! a dash mountable version AND a more portable one you can just plug in and go!
Nothing like real-time analog circuitry. The SMD shows it dip below 13V, while the other sits well above. Great demonstration of a great product
dood meade i been a fan of you for years, since you were slappin the chevy with no paint, no rims. I been showin people you and watching you slappin on people. I'm from the bay and I live in LA now, i gota say one day ima make it to sac and have u slap on ereybody for me dood. keep that shit up, i dont apprecaite/follow many people but you a solid ass dood and you commited to what you do, so keep that shit up man!
SOAB! that slow motion really showed how much faster it is! great product Steve!
this cover will lead to the cover for the VU- Din. We are working on the tooling for all that stuff. Taking longer then we expected since its a long process.
Finally a SMD product that the masses can understand how it works, I'm sold, Sorry I dissed You're impedance meter, Ur right I didn't understand how it works.
HMMM 5 dollars vs 50? And the text is so small on the SMD one you have to be so close to even read it. But you are right it does respond fast. You should put a small regular dig meter right in the middle of yours for quick glances
you don't need to "read" it to know how much voltage it is...but it is VERY easy to read regardless.
@@meade916 Probly just me, im blind as shit. Thanks for the reply.
See this is what I like, Steve actually replies to his fans lol
you didn't see it change colors? Its red then yellow in the low range.....then blue in the "normal range"...then yellow and red at the higher range again. Did you watch the video?
Steve what i think sk7ca meant is that you may be able to see just how far you are dropping and have that fast response but until you know what position every led is for each voltage range then you just have the knowledge of if its in a safe voltage range or if you are getting into trouble but having it so the print on the PCB is illuminated or glows someway somehow would help users know "Okay this led is lit up, this means its at xx.x volts. ya know?
definately gonna have to get your products when i have a serious project car going.
please read the description. Please read the description. Please read the description.
Definitely more info from the smd. I'm sold.
Note to everyone able to read this: Sometimes people get blocked for being rude, other times just for being annoying. If you fall under one of those categories, and you get blocked out, you know why. If you are like that fly that comes in my house and keeps landing on my arm, eventually, i am gonna swat you off me. True story.
I am a proud owner of a dd-1. Use that thing every install. I think this is next on my list. Good shit steve. Good shit!
The led blue light is awesome, great product 💪💪
Would be nice if the numbers were illuminated. And adjustable brightness would also be a nice feature as 954cityofdahood stated. Just some food for thought Steve.
Definetly top notch Steve, a great reason to get a real time voltage meter! Also a great health-check indicator for any car's electrical system ;) Talk about one for the amps and one for the car!
i have to admit, at 1st i wasn't sold on the concept, always liked seeing the digital readout for a quick reference, but i'll be damned, i think you might just be onto something meade!!!
i am not biased. The video says what needs to be said. I could have just not said anything at all and the same point would have been proven :)
thats totally understandable. the concept is there and the design is cool. just voicing my opinion as a potential end-user of the production run
My brand X meter has pretty blue lights (and comes in red), My brand X meter can actually tell me the voltage of my 14 volt system ( 16.8 charging volts), my brand X meter cost $20. Brand X meter is available EVERYWHERE at a competitive price.
VM1 has pretty blue lights, VM1 can only read up to 15.8v (only good enough for 12v setups), VM1 cost $80(special price) and $100 regular price. Only available from West Coast Audio and your gonna pay for that luxury.
I can live with a little delay.
that what we need man...good honest people and equiptment
already being manufactured and will be ready in about 5 weeks. Maybe 4, maybe 6......but probably 5.
look to the right>>>> see the LED DC VOLT meter? you can see it do its dance there - thanks!
it is. Drop down another volt and it will hit yellow, then red.
thats one of 2 we are working on for it. Thanks!
its not that big at all. If you don't like it, that is your prerogative but we aren't pricing this for your personal financial situation.. We are pricing it according to what it costs to make and what it makes sense to sell it for.
its not that big and is approx 1/4" thick. So its not bulky at all. Dont let the camera fool you. Either way, if its too big for your dash, nothing i can do about that. Its here for you if you want it, if you dont want it, no prob, don't buy it :D
why would you say that? our products are priced pretty good for what you get.
Steve you are the best! Your products, installs, and you! Keep it comein man!
it would be dope to have them about 1.5" or so wide with a vertical display so you can display them in series.
Welcome to the revolutions gentlemen
i am hoping by the end of this month. I should have plenty by then.
Hey man, big fan of all your work and mad props to you, what you do is awesome and so is this volt meter. But just a little suggestion, in my opinion I think the numbers should light up so you can see them at night I think it would be a lot easier. But anyway good job with this keep it up
Or maybe have it so the print glows up someway so you can read at night what its reading at. Still an awesome product but being able to read it at night althought it will jack up the cost for it would be a great addition. Im glad you guys came up with a case for it too. Any update on ones for the VU-Din's?
Awesome product, while a faster digital readout can be done it will also cost more money and not to mention the main reason why i want one is the craftsmanship, quality and reliability like always. top notch product Steve/ D'Amore!!!!!
Can't wait till they are available i want one.
Really looking forward to this product. I hope everything is still on schedule.
Great product. much more effective read out time wise. Nice job
i wish you where selling those things to mexico, we need that cool stuff. u the best Steve
Nice product. Your team seems to be able to come up with niche products missing from the car audio world at an affordable price. Maybe in version 2 of the product, you could have the meter memorize the lowest voltage the system reaches and maybe an alarm if voltage goes below a user programmable voltage? May not be useful for everyone, but might for some.
thank you sir!
Can't wait to get it when it comes out!
I like it is a clean looking product that is ready to be used with out the need of have to create a housing for it. Awesome it like plug n play
please read the description
Thats pretty dang neat. But it's a bit hard to read what the voltage actually is. Like different colored LED segments would be good so you know approx in what range you are.
please read the description. Thanks!
the case looks nice on it. SICK
Damn.. Looks legit.
On your way to being a household name steve :P
Props to d'amour engineering too.
it does! yellow, then red at both extremes, blue when it's all good. Look at LED DC VOLTMETER VM-1 video to the right >>>>
These things are going look so nice in my nxt build Great job guys!!!!
1 day ill have one of SMD DC VOLT METER and ill love to show off his great work.
This just turned me into a believer in this product when you addressed the gap between the numbers,
What is the price point?
you should make the numbers light up as well, cause at night all you see is a blue ring and at first you wont know where you at as far as volts in number
I'm thinking, instead of just "dimming" those LEDs, why not allow to be hooked up to the dash light? Either that or a day/night switch to controll brightness... I was just thinking it'd be cool to put something like that in-line with the headlights so it's all automatically controlled.
you gonna be puttin this in the tahoe or lexus? seems like a solid idea i might have to pick one up when the sale comes around.
funny steve how alot of people just hate. Badass bro. If they were smd members they would see the quality and performance of alot of stuff instead of ignorance.
looks great steve!!! i want one! you should try and make the case allitle bit smaller so it can fit in my car where the stinger one was haha!
right on man thank you very much for that.
it is...and thanks!
i thought it was funny that in the slow-mo you could see that the xxxxx readout didnt even have all the LEDs for each number illuminated, that alone shows how slow its response is. if only i had a wifer rear view mirror i could throw this in there with the Vu-Din lol. whats the estimate as far as these being ready? sorry, been busy havent been on the site much lately if you already posted the info on SMD. thanks man
it is.
Be nice if the colors when Green yellow red to represent if your voltage is good or not, either way nice product.
From now on I shall only shop to you Steve! damn you have the best videos on UA-cam !
looks good but i think you got the colors mixed up shouldnt it be in the red zone at low voltage?
great explanation, those guys know their shit... you guys make a good team...
deff going to buy one of these
That's so sick, It'd look sweet all hooked up
Building my first high powered build, gonna pick me up a SMD volt meter for sure
I love everytime you put something new on the market someone is like "actually blah blah" and your like "actually your an idiot" haha I love you work Steve, keep it up!
hopefully the price point can be comparable to the "brand x" meter or else i dont see the point. I love the innovation going into this, but i think the size is too large and the >lightshow< will be too much :(
Awesome Steve I like most thought ehh its just a novelty my stinger meter is fine until you did the slow mo(awesome idea btw) amazing to see how much you can actually drop this will be a vital part of my setup when they are available dropping low voltage cooks equipment and I ain't no chef lol I was thinking of running 2. 1 for the front batt and 1 for the rear batt bank do you think this is overkill or would 1 be good enough. Anyways keep the innovations coming.
your brand X VM is a piece of shit. I owned plenty of them. The VM-1 is going to be available for 18v systems. Already have the board done and 2 proto's out. You won't need it though so what are you bitching about? The VM-1 is 69.99 with a coupon code. You go live with the "delay" and the false readings. I will stick with speed, accuracy and made in USA reliability. You stick with cheap, slow and about to break any minute chinese. Its your right to save a buck, nobody is stopping you.
Ok checked the video, that makes alot more sense now! Ya that's bad ass lol Blue being good is a nice color, with the yellow and red.
Steve why don't you add some light for the numbers so when its dark you can see how many volts your running on and it will look really better if you also made the SMD and the battery glow too white will look insane with the blue for the analog:) just an opinion:)
I can't wait to get one of these
please read the description that i took the time to write so people wouldn't ask. LOL
there is a high voltage VM too (goes up to i think 19v) if i remember correctly.
i cant wait to get my hands on one of these
That is the stinger volt meter, which is why it has a piece of tape over it, cuz the logo is there... I know cuz I have the same one
none taken bro.....and they do go yellow, then red if you drop to far - its on both ends :)
sick i may need a couple of these
Hey you guys should have an option to turn up and turn down the brightness
it says it will be available for 16/19v setups as well in the description...if you read you will learn things °___°
i wasnt trying to be a smart ass steve. just throwing ideas, i knew this was a prototype
You're killing me! Is it getting close to being released? What happened to the SMD VU-DIN? I'm looking for three of them.
One day I will get this! Wish your shop was in AZ so I could come bug you every day! 😜
steve i mean no disrespect but shouldn't the color of leds go the other way having red show when voltage drops too low?
