i’ve never agreed with something more. my go to example for a perfectly paced movie is the classic 2001 comedy legally blonde. it’s 96 minutes long and has more plot and character development than most 3 hour long movies.
I love that movie!!! Especially when Elle finally reveals the real killer in the courtroom scene and she plays matchmaker for her manicurist.
Everyone hear complaining about long-ass movies. They should be complaining about everything being a freakin' SERIES rather than a standalone movie! My heart sinks everytime I discover something interesting is a series than a standalone movie!
@@theultimatereductionist7592 I give a series one episode and if I'm not into it I go on with my life. And with movies and series I DO watch, if at any point it's falling apart I just go to something else or turn the TV off completely. Time is precious. You cannot get it back.

Good luck with that, lol. I grew up on them. They're very dated and, as you kids would call it, very cringy. The only one that's survived the test of time (barely) is the Halloween one. It's stupid, but watchable. You'll probably get confused at the constant costume and character changes he goes through. It was kind of his thing. Basically what got him famous in a way way back when. Just roll with it. 😅
@@MidnightSonnet I tried to relive the magic of my childhood by showing my niece "Ernest Goes to Camp"... it was a lot less magical than I recalled. The only things that didn't make me cringe were the parachuting turtles and the cooks.
@@MidnightSonnet If what you're saying is true about them being dated and if "Ernest Goes to Africa" actually happened then that's a recipe for an underrated risque or cringe classic. On the other hand Pet Detective 2 in Africa was actually genius moments without crossing the line. I'm intrigued by the thought of Ernest there now if it happened. This might be a must see movie. Lol
I'm from your time period and found the actor endearing in trailers just never saw the movies.

Oddly, my very well-worn Amadeus VHS was single cassette. It’s 2 hours 30 or so which is like many single-cassette home video releases. I wonder what special edition of Amadeus was double cassette and why.

Chris and Pete together are always gold. Pete is funny. The King of Staten Island is long but it’s worth it…I enjoyed it. Good Time will forever be a fav of mine. Hands down one of the best movies. The Safdies are incredible

Really one of the most improbable comebacks in entertainment history. Highly recommend reading one of his recent profiles, story is kinda amazing.

@@dbadagna There's a video from The Tonight Show where Pete was there to promote his own movie, but he brought a clip of Good Time instead and just talked about what a good movie it was. Robert Pattinson (who starred in Good Time) was the other guest, and the whole interaction was just very wholesome and sweet.
