    I find myself constantly revisiting your storage and organization videos Jennifer. I can only imagine how much work went into these and I can't thank you enough!!! You are not only an incredible paper crafter and creator, but a teacher/mentor. Our community is so blessed to have you! Gentle hugz, Nancy

    I finally accumulated enough dies to store. Used your system but used the 7 inch tall pocket from SSS. also purchased vent covers from Home Depot and cut them down to 5 x 7. They are 15 inches wide so I can get three from one vent cover. I can get nine from a packet costing 4.99 a packet. That’s .55 cents a sheet. I came here looking for acrylic stamp storage and found that the same idea works. Thank you. You are wonderful.

    I was very glad to see you comparing the storage envelopes. And you answered the question I had at the end - what if I don’t have many companies stamps & dies ? And you answered as both the job stamper and the hobby stamper. I needed to hear that ! So as a hobby stamper you said you would organize by THEME. I took a picture of your die organization, because that was by theme and it gave me ideas of the various subjects you organized by. Thank you so much. We are moving soon, and I would really like to get a handle on organization before we go.
    Your info was very helpful, and I will continue to check out the other organization videos as well.

    I don't know how anyone can give a thumbs down. I think you are fantastic and appreciate you. Not trying to sell anything like some do. I have been following you for years and have done what you suggested with my stamps. Found stamps I didn't even remember having!! Thanks, Jennifer.

    You are definitely the light at the end of my tunnel, Jennifer! No mater what I need to know, you have the answers. When I access UA-cam and do a search on a technique I need help with, your site is always in the list of videos to watch. I don't know how you're able to keep up with all the venues, but you definitely do so. You are such a blessing to all of us in the paper crafting hobby and you're so appreciated. God Bless you and yours...

    When I built my craft room four years ago I researched how I wanted to store my stamps and dies. I decided your storage system might work for me. I have organized my stamps and dies using three sizes of the Simon Says pockets. I label the pockets with the name of the manufacturer and the name of the die. I went a step further by labeling some dies and stamps by season or event like fall/spring and birthday/get well/encouragement. I also used your system to divide my pockets by theme using vinyl folders that I cut down and labeled. I store my pocketed dies and stamps using the divided fridge bins. My larger pocketed dies and stamps need to go in the larger plastic bins as you suggested in your video. My craft room is made up by using the Kallax shelf units so the bins fit nicely on those shelves. I waited the four years to comment on your video to see if your system was right for me and it works beautifully. Thank you for sharing your inspiration and designs. Karen

    very nice. I have done this for many years. It is so helpful, however, I make my card box long enough to hold the actual greeting cards I will be sending all year in the appropriate month next to the name cards. I can address the envelope, return address label and stamp for mailing, even sign all the cards at the beginning of each month. Sometimes where the postage stamps go I use a pencil to date the Birthday. I will add the postage stamp covering the pencil mark later when I drop it in the mail. I keep another smaller box just for one month of cards, ie, I get out all January cards at the end of Dec. and keep them where I see them every day in order of date then drop them in the mail before that date, as needed. I love it. It really works for me.
    I have an index card behind every month that lists all the events i want to remember for that month - dates in order, with names, incase one of my other cards gets misplaced (and they have) it is a good cross reference for me. People are always amazed that i remember their birthdays. It is really because if I hear of a birthday in Jan that I want to remember someone new in June I quickly add it to my file. I make plenty of cards in advance in another spare box incase at the last minute I hear of a birthday i want to acknowledge right away. thank you for more ideas to make mine even better. I loved the divider cards esp.

    Thanks for sharing in your video, Jennifer! You are so amazingly admirable. One of the storage items I use for stamps and also for dies is good old Ziplok Freezer Bags. Durable polyethylene, seals up so little stamps don't fall out, easily bolstered with a piece of cheap cardstock for support in filing, label-able, inexpensive at Sams Club or Costco or even other brands at dollar stores, clear, durable, etc. I do use storage pocket envelopes from Avery Elle and Simon Says Stamp, but I do have alot of stamps in Ziplock. The Freezer bags are more durable than the regular storage bags. I not only store clear stamps in them but also cling rubber sets. I don't bother storing my background stamps in pockets. I just put them all in a plastic container together with a lid to keep dust off of them. I am just beginning the process of unmounting alot of wood block stamps, and plan to store them in clear envelopes or bags and then remove the adhesive from the wood blocks with denatured alcohol, and put them all in a basket for our grandson to build and play with when he is here. For dies, I bought some very inexpensive magnetic sheets from Oriental Trading, cut them into the sizes I needed, stick the dies to them and pop them into the bag or envelope. Works great. I am the type of crafter and sewer who is extremely visual. I have to have things in clear view or I forget about them and don't use them. So, this type of clear storage works well for me. I still struggle with whether to break up my sets and reorganize them according to theme!!! Ugh! I think you are the most organized person I know of, and you inspire me! Best wishes!

    Great, detailed info and ideas. Went to my 1st stamp show awhile back, got a BigShot for my birthday, and now I have enough that I feel the need to organize better. 2 photo boxes aren't going to cut it anymore. I need to keep myself from buying duplicates or near duplicates, no need to waste $. Your organizing vids are great, plus I love your craft room. 😸

    When my kids asked for gift ideas for Mother's Day, I told them about a few stamp sets I'd love to have from Stamper's Anonymous. They thought the company name was a riot and that I needed to JOIN Stamper's Anonymous. That aside, I now know which sleeves I can use to store these large sets and where to get them. I have all my regular-sized sets organized and can now move on to the "slightly irregulars." Thank you for doing all this research and sharing the information with us. One of my dreams for the future is to get all my craft things out of my dining room and into a nice craft room in a newly-finished basement (but I'm not holding my breath). Thanks again for not only sharing your beautiful and creative card designs, but for the infra-structure info also! You're the best (sincerely).

    I had a ton of UMs in binders and was about to get more binders and mounting sheets when I saw your video. For the cost of a fridge bin, a package of Avery Elle pockets, and using up some old paper I had, I not only did not have to buy more binders and cling mounting sheets, but I was able to lose probably 4 binders! I purchased two more packages of stamp pockets, a large and a 6" wide fridge bin (for BG stamps) and now have almost all my binders gone. It's so easy to store new stamps in the pockets. I find the cost relatively cheap.

    I am really inspired by your storage ideas. I have tweaked it a bit. I use all the same size storeage envelopes for everything. And stored in same container. I just use different color inserts for each type. Dies have black inserts because of black magnetic sheets. Stamps with white. Stencils with yellow. Embossing folders in blue. I am considering putting stickers with red inserts. I don't like having to look in several containers. I am unmounting my SU wood block stamps, so it is a work in progress. But saving a lot of space needed for storeage. Thank you for all of your inspiration.

    I store mine in the same kinds of DVD box boxes you use but I don't bother with wallets - I just keep clear ones between the plastic sheets with the die taped to the back etc. Saves space and money I can spend on more materials. No dust falls in the narrow gap and really gets on them and they aren't damaged by air etc.

    Wowsa! I've loved all your previous organizational videos, but this tops the cake! I was diagnosed with ADD several years ago and NEED an organized space to work in or I feel lost and confused in the mess and can't get with it to craft anything. I went to the dollar store and bought baskets to organize my paper ephemera similar to this and was curious to know what theme headings you store your dies under?

    Thanks for a very informative video! I know now that I do not need to invest in the magnetic sheets to store my cutting dies. I appreciated the effort you went to for this video.

      I bought 8.5x11" self-adhesive magnetic sheets and cut them into quarters. Adhered the magnetic sheets to thin cardboard, like the backings on paper pads.

    Thank you so much for the time you spent researching and sharing with us all these different options! If I ever have the room, I would love to store my stamps like you do. For now though, I use the pockets you use and hang them on a clip it up. It's working...but getting full!

    Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I appreciate your efforts in compiling this info. While I haven't the same need for storage as you, I still have to store my toys. Now whenever the need arises for more storage to house them, I shall refer back to your video. Jo-Ann Stoneham

    If you have such a huge number of stamps, buying a heat sealer and a roll of raw bag sleeve and making your own bags might be more economical and they will fit perfectly.

    • @jennifermcguireink
      @jennifermcguireink  8 років тому +5

      yes, this is another option! i am just sharing ones that our craft stores carry. making your own bags would take a lot of time, but save money.

      Where can you find that? Or what term would I search for?

    • @RichBoden
      @RichBoden 8 років тому

      +Maria Keller You can buy it on the roll as "polyethylene tubing for bag makers" and you would want one of the heavier grades. The machine I think is an impulse sealer.

      +Rich Boden I will look for that... Thank you! I'm hoping it will work with my Fuse tool.

    • @RichBoden
      @RichBoden 8 років тому

      Maria Keller It could well do - actually, I know Jennifer has some kind of cardless cards videos that use Fuse with some kind of plastic sleeving - see if you can find them.
