First time I have ever seen one of Peter's children! He looks just like his dad! Looking at Peter's face, it's obvious he is very proud and loves Ivan! That look can power a generator for months!
I actually got an answer to my email to Ivan (Peter's son in the audience) and he was very sweet to me. I was shocked he answered! I'll remember it always. Of course, he's quite a bit older now!
This is a fun clip, but what a weird meeting. I don't think Bonaduce and the Monkees had met before, judging from their greetings and banter. Both were at weird points in their lives; the 1989 Monkees weren't as big as they were during the 1985-1986 reunion mania, had no record deal, and were winding up a tour without further plans. Bonaduce seemed to be on the way up at the time; after wasting years of his life, he had landed a deejay job with a large market station, but it was the graveyard shift. He still had many fuck-ups ahead in life. The "battle of the bands" comment was handled gingerly by Bonaduce. That kind of gingerly handling of one side by the other seems to pervade in this whole interview. The Monkees probably knew Bonaduce as a little kid on the show and perhaps heard he was a fuck-up, whereas Bonaduce was well aware the Monkees' legend had grown in stature. So an interesting clip (for the limited number of fans of either party), but a strange vibe.
Yes,really Danny had no kids, was not a musician and was a little kid when they were filming in a nearby studio.. Not much in common + thrown together in front of a live audience.
The Monkees was better than The Beatles really because every song had a catch beat to it unlike The Beatles that you had to know the song to get it's tune.
Peter's son Ivan is so cute. Looks so much like his father. Even the hair is similar....The interaction between Danny and The Monkees is awkward and uncomfortable. Yikes!
Dolenz, Jones and Tork were hired to play the Monkees on the TV show but they sang and eventually did get to play on their own records. Danny Bonaduce never sang a note on a Partridge Family record. Only David Cassidy and Shirley Jones of the shown sang on any of their records. It was kind of stupid to book both acts on one show. The Monkees alone would have been enough.

Peters son looks just like him. He is adorable.
Ivan was SOOOOOOOO cute just like a young version of peter
Hey hey it’s the Monkees and filling in for Michael Nesmith is Danny Bonaduce from “The Partridge Family”.
Danny was so gracious.
He seemed a bit arrogant to me.....like he has a chip on his shoulder.

Seederman Yes, very awkward.
I love the monkees! Peter was a cutie. 😔 Danny seemed to have a chip on his shoulder, or something?? Maybe jealousy??
@@robinromine8158 I think it's more like you don't want to push him too far or you risk having him go psycho.

I know gun
Only Monkeys I like !!!
Danny seems arrogant here, almost like he's got a proverbial "chip" on his shoulder.
Danny B is an insufferable odd guy. Peter tork not much better just more passive.
