Saw these guys live, their studio music doesn't do them justice they bring a lot of energy live.
I saw them live during the hellcat records punks vs psychos tour in San Diego at soma next to black angus, rosecrans in 2004, they sound amazing live, you are right studio recordings don't really do them justice compared to seeing them live.
Everybody was there, punx, psycho's, greasers,skaters, skins, etc...
+quad core I saw them a few months ago along with Dropkick Murphys they put on an amazing show

+Steve Taylor That's a very bold statment. The man is an epigone, both musically and visually, on purpose obviously. That means his works are already dated. It might be a pleasant regurgitation for some people but it's of no cultural consequence, independent from it's aesthetic qualities for you.
+Alex would you consider everyone who creates music in a particular style an epigone? For that matter, one might argue that Nick13 is actually the master, since Tiger Army almost single-handedly revived the Psychobilly style; bands like Stellar Corpses imitate TA.
Truthfully though, I agree that Tiger Army, despite being absolutely wonderful, will never have any real mainstream cultural consequence. For that matter, neither will 99% of the artists alive today; that's just the way it's always been.
But hey, Nick13 exists at the same time I do, and that's good enough for me!
Greg Weaver Np, I wouldn't actually, since the guy himself is, at least artisitcally, mostly a product of the preexisting rckabilly scene. Since the haydays of theyle in the 50s, there has always been at least a small number of artists producing that music. Tiger Armys debut itself was very much a conventional rockabilly album of its time. If someone would be referred to as a "master" it would probably be one of the first wave artists, even though that would be very far fetched too in my opinion.
+Alex but a true artist makes his own mark, the third album is truly a work of art, and for those who don't realise has many references to Japanese mythology, but is still psychobilly as fuck

somehow these songs always connect to me, honestly at first I didn't like it but then I saw the film clip, there is a couple of parts where nick walks through this china town gate and holy shit it looks like a part of fortitude valley in Brisbane Australia. for me I used to wander this place sometimes all night cause I was on the lamb, and I would stay up all night and walk through that city, I have my tiger bat and it's never coming off, T.A.N.D can't wait for the album :)

I was lucky enough to catch Tiger Army in Houston, a few months back, Nick 13 was sick as a dog, and yet still put on an incredible show!
Kind of get a little of "The Darling's" vibe on this track. The Darling's as in the band that opened for Strung Out years ago. Worth checking out.

I always wondered when Tiger Army would do a noir type video. It came out really well, I love all the elements, a creepy hotel pin up photo session, Nick 13 walking around as stiff as possible, and hey, I like It when nick 13 walks around like that. I can see the director saying " 30% more Nick walking around". Even if the rest of the band is excluded from the video I still loved it, and its true Tiger Army never dies, sometimes they just take nearly 10 years to make a record. I would consider Tiger Army my favorite band and have for almost 15 years, I'm kind of offended that the rest of the band isn't featured after you took such a long hiatus with your solo project but I'am very happy that the band is releasing something. Please so some love to your fans and tour like crazy for a while. Or at least spend more time making more content.
