This video is so awesome! The virtual nightclub discotheque has cool elements taken from Studio 54, and the 2001 Odyssey disco from Saturday Night Fever, and the American Bandstand set from 1979/80!! And this is the perfect song to go along with this club from the Queen herself Donna Summer!! I give it 5 stars!!

Yessssss, at last someone gets it!!!!!!!!! (thank you so much), cant tell how 100 of many hours work I've put into this, and you are the first to totally nail it, 6 months ago I couldn't even work out how to create a disco mirror ball (that's all I was originally going to create, believe it or not!) then as I worked out and fumbled my way through the 3D software blender, even down to parts of the floor light sequence of 2001 Odyssey, watching those dance clips over and over, the plan is to try and have these animations clips complete so I can create a classic Disco mix of all my old vinyl collection, non-stop classics to this virtual late 70s early 80s discotheque nightclub, hope to have everything ready by the end of Feb.... again thanks for being the first to spot those classic elements...

I think part of what made 54 special was the venue was once a broadway theatre and then a television studio, so the rigging was already there for all the many lights and FX that lent itself to being kitted out, they had a light guy just to operate the lights only, no other venue had that, though to start the venue itself was rundown by the mid 70s but it was cheap for the size and location, I have Ian Schrager Studio54 book and it's an amazing insight to getting the place and what they had to do to get things to happen.... Nothing more than being at the right place at the right time....

@@The70s80scollection fair points but it was the overall
      "Rough finish" that staggered me.
I've been djing for nearly 50 years in uk and a lot of countries in europe too, A lot of clubs including the "Muzak palace " in Hannover in late 70s which held over 2,500 was far plusher than 54.
Indeed the Locarno in Bristol my home town ( 1,800) was a swanky place.
I don't doubt for one minute it was the right place at the right time, i mean its location wasn't the most salubrious place in Manhattan.
I used to have this vision of it being a "fantasy" place and guess to a degree it was.
Mind you with a Richard Long sound system inside that'll take away a lot hey ?🤣🤣
I got to meet Nicky Siano a few years ago when he toured the uk.
And over time told me some stories..
The lighting rig was indeed so complicated it was have been impossible to dj and do the lights at the same time.
Remember no 1200s to mix on then, plus nick was i believe the first dj to use 3 decks for mixing 2 for records and 1 for "effects"..
Mind you he and Richie Kaczor
Had a job on imagine a dj booth that would hold about a dozen people all squeezed in poor sods could hardly perform.
Esp with the likes of Diane Ross sprawling all over the decks...
I mean how would she like Nicky and Ritchie larking about on "her" stage when she's at the square gardens....???
Course pre internet days we only got snippets of gossip/ news about stuff and guess its a picture you build up in your mind.
Then all the info you could ever want comes pouring out and we learn the actual truth..
Can see why nicky only stayed there 4 months from April 77 ( upon opening ) to july 77.
Its funny its life was very short really
      April 77 - march 80.
Several reincarnations and it finally died..
For me the one club i would have loved to visit was the "Garage".. now there was a club, esp with Mr L djing...

@@djsimonrossprice9400 Ian Schrager's book has some excellent details of what went into the light system, they employed some of Broadways top light and effects guys at the time and the book details that, I suppose you could say to some it's a bit like comparing the hype around the DMC Delorean name to the cars actual performance of the time, there is a picture of the booth from around the late 79 early 80 showing a 1200 next to the original decks, and a Teac reel to reel, some of the DJ's used to mix at home and bring a 30 to 60 minute mix in with them....
