I was around 15 or 16 when SNF came out. Record stores sold out of the albums as soon as they came in. My record store "Recordland" let you reserve a copy and if there were any copies left over then it was first come. My friend Barry and I waited one day at the mall for the gate to open up at the store and we finally got our copy. I still have it!
Great story and I'm sure a memory to treasure, you're about the same age as me (born 1962), and I have many memories of the Bee Gees dominating the charts with their music from SNF, it was some years before I got to see the movie, when I started to create the 3D animation to use on the many disco singles I own, my wife and I watched SNF and that gave me the idea for the floor lights, as I was only going to create a disco mirror ball animation, watched those dance floor clips many, many times over to get the light sequence's in my animation the same the movie, that aside I still think back to those late 1970s and being of an age where the girls catch your eye much more!!!...
@@The70s80scollection Always enjoy the animation! Reminds of the days when you went to the dance halls and the dance halls "really" looked like that! I see sometimes you leave the animation out and it "bumb's" me out! Thanks always! I enjoy! The sound is SPECTACULAR!!! Thanks bro! (born 1963)
@@MrJpen82 Thanks again, I'm recording David Bendeth's Feel The Real disco version tomorrow, the vinyl is in the process of being cleaned (takes 12hours), David has very kindly given me permission to post his song and it's one of me all time favs from1979, appreciate your comments as these videos can take hours to create, in-fact that disco animation take me 6 months to get to a place I was happy enough with it to use, and I will be using it in the Feel the Real post, as long as David is ok with it, hopefully....
Thanks Rui, though this vinyl is worn out, even after trying to clean it twice it still has audible pops and crackles, thankfully at the bottom end of what I would say still OKay to play....... however, I have mint sounding copy of I track I bought back in 1985 for posting tomorrow night, though again, cleaned and but this time came up like new, and what a great sound the vinyl still holds considering how many times it was played......
Yeah it seems strange that this is a rare version and not an easy version to get and any Bee Gees compilations etc, infact the whole Promo pressing is a treat.....

@@The70s80scollection I was finally made available on CD with the reissue of Bee Gees Greatest.
@@allisons3663 Not sure when that would have been released but it must have been quite some time before it was available.
@@The70s80scollection The expanded edition of "Bee Gees Greatest" came out in 2007 which included the 12" version of Stayin' Alive.
@@allisons3663 I'd suspect that was its first digital release, 30 years after the original, a long wait..
You have a very good turntable.
Thanks Peter, though it's getting on a bit, 3 and a half decades old, but still going....
