I am impressed by the video shots you made with the camera apparently mounted on one of the seats in front of you. How did you do that? I have watched many other flight reviewer videos but have never seen that hands-free camera angle accomplished during boarding or in flight.
Thank you for the kind words. I have a 1.3m selfie stick with camera that I put into the seat pocket in front. That’s usually sufficient as long as there’s no turbulence ;-)

My family are about to fly With Lufthansa in a few days from Hong Kong to Glasgow, (my BA flight got cancelled at the last minute) So its nice to see what we can expect.
I’ve heard/seen the triple S, but do we know if it’s just a designation for additional security or if it’s because of a specific trigger? For example I’ve heard that additional screening is sometimes triggered by paying with cash and/or last minute purchases. I’m curious what those triggers are.
I‘m sure there are many triggers, and many people get the S‘s. There was even a queue in front of the extra screening. I fly quite often with one-way tickets, which I believe is a trigger too.

Ja, TK hat die 2-3-2 Business Class. Eine Main Cabin vorne mit meine ich 4 Reihen und dann noch eine kleinere C mit 3 Reihen nach der zweiten Tür. Bis auf den Sound der GE-90 beim Start kann ich der 777 nichts positives abgewinnen. Ich war immer froh, wenn es nach KL mit dem 330er ging anstelle mit der 777 nach SIN oder CGK. Zum Glück ist CGK nun auf den 350er umgestellt.
Das Essen bei TK ist gut. Da kann man nichts gegen sagen. Vorallem muss man immer den Preis im Hinterkopf behalten. Mein Flug von Düsseldorf nach Jakarta und zurück vor ein Paar tagen hat mit Buchung 3 Wochen vorher 2.500 € in der C gekostet. Da verlangt SQ locker über 4.000 € für. Aber ich bin mal auf deinen Report gespannt.
The food looks really good, but the seat it’s showing their age, I can’t understand why it takes so long to put new seat on their long haul business class aircrafts.
Not entirely sure. For the A340-600 I can understand, as its days are soon counted, but even the B747-8 has this oldish Business Class if I‘m not mistaken.
The seats look relatively unpadded, and no mattress 😢like on Polaris Does anyone know if the LH 787 dreamliner in AirCanada montreal to MUC business has comfortable lay flat seats?
I was curious to see how you would fit into the seat at 6'4". Apparently you did just fine, although I suspect you would have been a little bit cramped in the lie flat position. It's a shame Lufthansa can't refit their A340's with new interiors and keep them flying for another 10 years. Anyway, Boston is a great town to visit, although it's a little bit too expensive to live there! At least for me.
I fit in just comfortably enough, at least better than with MIAT where the headrest was pressing into my shoulders 😆. Would have loved to see the A340‘s with the new Alegris business class. Doubt that will happen. I loved Boston, but wow, the prices! That was a bit of a shocker indeed.
Hi Mr BPS!! Im not a fan of Lufthansa!!! The Aircraft could do with a makeover and the Business Class space looks small!! I suppose when you compare with SIA and Emirates, they offer larger space!! Hope you enjoyed your time in Boston!!!! Hope one day you try my Country's Airline - AIr New Zealand. Take Care 🙂
I agree, the business class feels like from 15-20 years ago. The overall experience was quite good though, but SIA and EK are of course another level (although Emirates does also have a pretty old Business Class if i‘m not mistaken). Would love to try Air New Zealand in Business Class. Pretty sure I will at some point🤩
I can see that this plane is very old. I had very disappointing experience traveling with Lufthansa this year. Service and food on the On flight was horrible . Service at Frankfurt Airport was horrible too. Never again on Lufthansa.
1-2-1 is certainly way better. But I think United also still has the older business class on some aircraft. Last year I flew UA in Polaris with an interesting 2-1-2 configuration (maybe you saw my video).

Old school A340 and Business class. Hope Lufthansa Allegris comes quick on al LH planes. But still very cool flying these retro A340-600!! Nice video

I've only ever flown LH business within Europe and found it to be very pleasant so subject to route and price quite keen to try them longhaul.

Haha, true:) The benefit of this setup is, that it is a bit less obvious than a tripod.

I believe BA didn’t have a replacement part ready, so they had to temporarily compromise. But it’s just a guess.

2-2-2 configuration is no bueno unless its apex suites
I agree. I actually tried the Apex suites with Gulf Air (maybe you have seen my video). I loved it!

How much did you bid for business class?
That was 610 EUR on top of the Economy Class fare, for a oneway upgrade. Minimal bid was 590.- if I remember correctly.

They are offering a mattress on longer flights. The padding of the seat is fine and the firmness is adjustable.

Great video, but LH should either take those aging aircraft out of service or retrofit the cabin because those seats are not competitive
They aren’t competitive indeed, but I like the older aircraft, such as LH’s aging B747-400‘s or this A340-600. So I‘m happy to compromise;-)

My experience with Lufthansa varies greatly, some were a hit, some a miss. I think I was lucky on this one, despite the aging cabin.
