Lucky for travelers in China/Chinese Airline. You get good food for 3 hours flight? In USA, anything under 6-7 hours, you get nothing.

Thank you for another detailed review! Looks like you had a wonderful time in business class. The chicken with cashew nuts looked delicious too although the IFE system looks outdated. I recently flew with EVA Air for the first time a couple of weeks ago from Taipei to Osaka in economy on their 787-10. I was disappointed with the food and service. The meal lacked taste and the aircraft was quite dirty. I had high expectations. Anyhow, I am curious to experience the Hello Kitty themed aircraft and service. I read somewhere that everything on board including the meal service is Hello Kitty themed. In fact, there's a demo Hello Kitty themed check-in area at Taipei Taoyuan Airport which showcases some of the Hello Kitty themed meals and souvenirs from the flight. I highly recommend trying out STARLUX. Had a superb in flight experience with them! Tasty food, latest IFE tech and excellent service from the crew.

Be honest I don't think C919 will go much further and I don't think China still has much interests to push this program forward. The future trajectory of the C919 aircraft program faces significant challenges, mainly geopolitical. A key vulnerability lies in its reliance on numerous components and services sourced from U.S. companies, including critical systems such as avionics, engines, and other subsystems. While this approach was likely aimed at streamlining certification processes and meeting international safety standards, it has inadvertently made the program susceptible to external pressures, particularly in the context of escalating trade tensions. In the event of a trade conflict, the U.S. could impose export restrictions on these components, effectively stalling production and limiting the aircraft's potential market access. Additionally, if China attempts to replace these foreign-sourced components with domestically produced alternatives, the aircraft would require re-certification-an arduous and uncertain process that could further delay its adoption and undermine its competitiveness in the global aviation market. Despite challenges from reliance on U.S. components, the C919 could still serve China's domestic market if replaced with local alternatives. However, such changes would likely transform it into a new program rather than the original C919 initiative.

Most of the C919 is made outside of China. Fuselage, I think, and some other stuff, is made in China. All the important things are made in Europe and the US. So the majority isn't made in Chine unless you refer to quantity and not quality.

I was really enjoying this until I noticed you were flying business class. Honestly, it’s a bit frustrating-why do all aviation bloggers gravitate toward the luxurious upper cabins? Most of us will never set foot in business, and it feels a bit disconnected from the real-world experience. I’d be far more intrigued by a review that highlights the food, comfort, and overall experience in economy class, something the masses can relate to.

sure it is a steal. China spend $6billion developing it and paying $250 for a business class seat is similar to taking high speed rail so much value for the passengers. Unfortunately for China Eastern it is still struggling to breakeven. I am sure they are paying top prices for the honor. Would you still take it if they decide to charge to cover cost and the ticket price is $2500 if not more?

I don't think it is a big deal as Comac is not really trying to sell the ARJ21's. They are trying to promote C919 and going to build C929 and C939. I'm pretty sure that Comac is licensing these places for airlines who want to buy a cheap version of DC-9 because it is a familiar platform.

By the way you might get lucky on a regional trip to get the Sanrio Livery Jets. My father used to do Taipei to Manila heavily on Eva Air in fact one traveling from the west coast to the Philippines they are cheaper than Philippine Airlines which you hear the Taiwanese people say 菲律賓航空. Did you use miles and more Swiss frequent flyer Lufthansa Brussels Airlines on this flight on Eva Air. For my home airport MNL Hello Kitty Jets are BR277/271.

Pronounced as E-vah. Owned by Evergreen Group of Taipei, Taiwan. Evergreen also own a regional subsidary airline called Uni Air which operate ATR aircraft flying to smaller islands of Taiwan. Evergreen also have container ships some really big ones too up to almost 400m in length and they also operate hotels

I will slightly disagree with review Turkish is not presenting like european career which operate from hub to hub but turkish aim like emirates which want istunbul as hub airport And if you aim you need wide body planes not A321 I flew from manchester to istunbul 4 hour 7 hour lay off then 3.5 on a321 Where is sleep They need wide body planes to compete with emirates

I'm amazed by the 2-4-2 configuration in Economy! I'm further surprised that TAP is using an A330NEO for this route! I'm also an American and our airlines are ridiculous. I stumbled across this video because I'm VERY excited that our upcoming flight on a TAP A330-NEO (30 December) will be my first to Europe, my first via a European carrier AND my first on an Airbus airframe. In addition, I'm the only Aviation geek I know. So, sometimes it's just fun to ride along. Do you have any advice on filming in-flight? As you mention in this video; some Cabin Crews are VERY sensitive to the idea (which I totally understand). I want them to know I'm a friend.
