Hi David, I've started using VIRL2 (The online CML) and I've setup a lab topology that contains an ext-conn. I put the settings of the ext-conn into a bridge mode, and connected it to IOSv router on interface Gi0/1 and I set the interface to DHCP, but I'm not getting any IP from my home network. Is this because I'm using the online VIRL (VIRL2) and because of that, it's not seeing my laptop interface?
Hi David, great video. Have you noticed that when cloning say a router node for instance, the config of the device dose not seem to be copied over? Am i missing something? thank you!
Hi David, thank you for this video. Ext-conn is working for me on VMware ESXi. Initially there was an issue - unable to ping from CML router to external network and vise versa but issue is resolved once I changed the ESXi vSwitch0 promiscuous mode configuration from "Reject" to "Accept".
Thank you. Tried it and worked with no problem. Cisco has made this easy. Have you figured out how to install FTDv and FMC in CML 2.0? A video on that would be great. I have not been able to get it to work.
your videos are simply awesome David i follow a lot of them.. Small question: i am in Nat mode.. got a Natted IP. I am able to ping internet but i am not able to ping from my local machine(windows) to Host and vice versa. if i need that capability do i have to use only bridge mode.. My whole purpose of this CML lab is to have 2 vms instances, one for cml and other for ansible and practice playbooks.. any suggestions will be awesome..
Hello David, any chance to create a video , difference between source NAT, static NAT and destination NAT? like I'm interested in learning how public address translates into private web servers.
@@davidbombal yes correct, for example if anyone has the couple of web server having private IP's , how all these servers can be accessible globally routed public IP's.
@@davidbombal in my company there are using dell power connect switches and juniper switches and cisco routers i am practising dell switches in gns3vm server based on your video it is running quite slow. am getting this message : unknown dhcp problem.. no allocation possible when i try bridging the external connection to the router in cml, i can't solve the problem would you give me som tips?
You have change my life, I can not forget in my life your knowledge. You helped me so much
Hi ! I reproduced the steps but still the router cannot ping google.com ? any idea why is this happening ?!

Hi I have to use ansible for management of cml topologies which is external what set up is needed for that?
how can i connect from my home network laptop to other side of router interface
Hi, Thanks for explaining this. But is there any way we can connect to all topology devices via an external connector?

Hi did you ever find the solution to that?
David, could you do a video on setting up the TRex node in CML 2.0 for route and traffic generation?
Is it possible to put a L2 switch in between?
Is ssh supported or can you only use telnet?
not working for me for some odd reason . Im not sure how much straight forward this can be
Could you please do another video where you show how to do the bridged network if CML is running on an ESXi server?
Hi David, great video. Have you noticed that when cloning say a router node for instance, the config of the device dose not seem to be copied over? Am i missing something? thank you!
As I know if you want use additional subnets in your lab, you should use NAT on outside interface when bridging you network.

You are the best sir David

Hello Mr.David
Very useful video.thanks
Thank you G G! I appreciate all your comments and feedback.
thanks David, appreciate the assistance.

As you asking for the theory and explanation of different NAT types?

Thank you Hammad!
Does Bridging variant also work on free CML2 Sandbox?
You cannot connect to the outside world using the free CML2 Sandbox I have been told.
Thank you for the great video, any idea if Cisco devnet team launched free SD-WAN lab on CML2 yet so we can practice viptela SD-WAN for free?

Great video, as I’ve cone to expect 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Steve!
can i use other non cisco devices in cml or only to use cisco devices or iou's
You can use devices that will run in QEMU. See this video for an example of me running a Windows VM on CML: ua-cam.com/video/ur2G0dpMCBs/v-deo.html

I made exactly as you did still I didn't have IP in my router

Hey David, please define CML. Thank u.
Not sure what you mean? CML = Cisco Modeling Labs. Is that what you are asking?
@@davidbombal exactly. Thanks much.
