I just got this unit a week ago and I was questioning the exact same thing. I finally called Kenwood tech support and they said on high end decks like these, they use the digital crossover. On the deck menu, it's spelled "x-over" He told me to adjust my front 3 way door speakers to 180 hrz. Thenadjust my 6x9's to about 100-120hrz. Then adjust the subwoofer to about 60hrz. Once I did that, it sounds AMAZING! Until I did that, my system sounded like total shit! Remember to turn the GAIN up too!!
Right on man!! Those mustang sound systems can sound pretty nice too!! Yeah, I had lost faith in this deck until I called Kenwood. Once they taught me how to tune it, it is probably one of the best sounding head units I have ever heard!! Those frequencies I mentioned are perfect for my system, and they should be real close to yours too....try it out and adjust it from there. And with the "Gain" turned all the way up, it will sound like a whole new stereo! Good luck and hope it helps!!
All you really have to do is have your cell seach in Bluetooth mode to find the Kenwood deck. It will even appear as Kenwood when the phone is done searching for bluetooth devices. Then hit connect and you are good to go! Remember after connected to set your phone to automatically connect with the Kenwood, so you dont have to do it manually every time you turn on the stereo. Hope that helps! Oh and the names in your phone book will apprear automatically when you recieve a a call. Hope that helps
I'm looking at buying this unit has a lot of cool features and its cheap! the other head unit that I'm considering to buy is the Pioneer DEH-P710BT but its pricier than the Kenwood. So how good is the bluetooth of the unit?

Too late for me I have already ordered the KDC-BT742U, found out...yup didn't have A2DP profile for stereo bluetooth music streaming. I hope KW puts out a firmware upgrade for this unit in the future. Well enjoy the Sony!
I actually sold this unit to my bro and got a dif one that has more features. I got the Sony MEX-BT5700U. the kenwood i got didn't have stereo bluetooth so I went for the sony, I do think the kw had better sound quality but not by much but my factory speakers cant handle any bass so i went for the sony so I could turn it off. plus the search is much better....im happy with my choice.
I was a USB jump drive and aux cord for aux input. It was 220 when i got it but I think its like 200 or less now, I actually gave to my bro and got the Sony MEX-BT5700U

Yeah I really like the sound of this headunit, it didn't have all the features I wanted so I switched to a dif one that I'm gonna do a vid on when I get some time. The wire isn't wireless its just the usb cable you get w/ iphone or ipod.
I absolutely hate this radio. It's outrageously complicated. Took hours to set up. The instruction manual is laughable. Just ask to see it before you purchase. And ask where the "Menu" button is.
