    • @emmas8290
      @emmas8290 8 років тому +2

      Of they have good genetics they will go to a breeding farm if they are bad they will be sent to the slaughter house in some other country

    • @tonyalafarr1454
      @tonyalafarr1454 8 років тому +4

      Most of them end up at sale or kill pens to be auctioned off. If they end up at a kill pen they will be hauled off to a meat plant in either Canada or Mexico to ship the meat to France and other foreign countries where horse meat is a delicacy. The good horses who make some good $$ will be retired to breeding shed. Honestly it's really sad what the horses go through.

      OR be sold to someone who likes to do dressage, or jumping, or hunter on the flat, or trail riding. THINK.

    • @themiamimi123
      @themiamimi123 8 років тому +3

      +watchgoose I appreciate that some ex race horses do find retirement and loving homes, I have ridden ex racehorses who are absolutely lovely. Unfortunately most race horses are not fortunate enough for this kind of future and many owners see them only as a money source, selling them for meat purposes as people have said above. Of course this is not applicable to all people who are involved in racing, many are kind hearted and understand the situation which is great. However, it is well known that many race horses end up in the slaughter house. It is incredibly sad and awful but it is true... I also wish more race horses could be retired as hunters, dressage horses or eventers but that doesn't always happen.

This sport is called the sport of kings, it’s the sport of animal abuse. I can’t believe people are so bored with there lives they watch abuse as entertainment. We’re a sad species.

    1:55 ....
    Says they are in a stall basically 24hrs so they take them out for about 30min a DAY to graze and whatnot.
    Well horses sleep for like 2hrs a day, can you see where this is abusive as fuck? A solid 22hrs standing in a stall every God damn day of their life, to just run in a circle and then be disposed of later at auction.
    This is equally and pathetic as keeping a bird in a cage; an animal that was meant to soar.
    You people need to learn to respect and actually care for the animal, mentally too. They dont give a shit about being brushed or having fancy grain. That's us humanizing them and making it seem like it's taking care of them.
    Raise them right, don't train them young, let them habe their freedom and then MAYBE horse racing can still exist.
    A lot of work needs to be done though.

      Sad?? What video were you watching lady? See any cruelty?? All I saw was horses getting pampered with food, vitamins, bathes, get their stalls CLEANED with fresh bedding DAILY, grooming, vet checked constantly, ,walked ,exercised,they also get dentistry done, letting them RUN as that's what they were born to do. Can you say that about lots of those poor ones in wild? What Dumbass comment from obviously someone who apparently doesn't know SQUAT about a racehorses life. Pay attention lady and maybe you won't be so quick to judge .Can't stand ney sayers like.. yourself Wonder how good you take care of your horse if even own one

      How many kings end up at the knackery when they are no longer making an income. Why do they race them years before they have grown and matured. How many kings are whipped and kept in solitary confinement. How many kings are auctioned. How many kings are forced to run unjured and masked with drugs. How many Kings are forced to wear iron gags. How many kings are lame in the mouth? and so on and on.!

      Meanders Horsingabout Just because there are trainers that don't treat their horses well doesn't make this guy guilty by association with the industry. You can't base one person or a small groups actions on the entire community of horse racing.

    Born to run but your horses have no access to a pasture? What happened to race horses being treated like kings? I have to mustangs I use fore pleasure riding at a small barn and they get better care than these horses. When people tell me that racing is okay for the horse I should just show them this video to prove that it is not. You have been training for your whole life yet you actually think a horse goes to sleep when you leave and wakes up when you come back? A horse sleeps for two to three hours a day. So the horses here are awake and bored for 20 hours a day. That one in the video was shaking his head he was so bored. And don't try to tell me that he is playing. My horses play, they run around, kick, bite and buck, that is playing, not shaking your head because you are going crazy.

    • @watchgoose
      @watchgoose 8 років тому +4

      where did you grow up? Horses sleep A LOT and whenever they need to. They can sleep standing due to the check ligaments in their legs, and then they will also lie down and have a good roll and then a long nap as well. They ARE treated like kings - does anyone feed you, give you a shower, give you PT, take personal care of YOUR feet, toys to play with, food several times a day, let you run on a safe track instead of a pasture that might have holes in it, and so on? They are bathed and groomed daily which feels SO good them them that they will twist their heads around and act silly. Some have companion animals and toys. They have their favorite grooms also. Geez, haven't you ever been to the backside of the track?

    • @lisadacat100
      @lisadacat100 8 років тому +2

      Horses sleep, on average, 2.9 hours a day. They are built to have their heads down grazing around 17 hours a day. The rest is meant to be socializing and moving between food water and shelter. A properly cared for pasture should have no holes or debris where the horses could get themselves injured. While some horses do like being groomed and bathed, many do not. when watching videos of race horses being bathed they commonly show signs of stress. Every barn I have been to, including race tracks, have had horses in stalls showing stereotypic behavior. This is where the horse bobs his head, weaves, paces or any other repetitive movement. This is because horses are built to travel long distances at a slow pace throughout the day, not a short fast ride and 20+ hours in a stall. For your information I am currently studding natural horse care and management where we look at what is physically and physiologically best for the horse. Not what you and others might think of as "nice". A horse would rather meander around in an unkept field then a fancy stall.

    • @Oswald_Thatendswald
      @Oswald_Thatendswald 7 років тому +6

      these are race horses. not your mustangs. these are athletes, they get taken out an exercised vigorously everyday to keep them in tip top shape and are only fed the best food available. obviously this guy trains winners if he is in the hall of fame, and only healthy horses win consistantlly. I can guarantee you they get more exercise than your mustangs.

    • @dena-albaalba-dena8923
      @dena-albaalba-dena8923 7 років тому

      they get the exercise thata human will take. They are not predators, they are lazy dumbs eating most of the time in the wild. A cheetah is made to run, a lion does, a tiger... but the preys aren't made to be like this. It's not natural, think of this way. If every single prey out there where this athletic, there will not be predators!!1 they wouldn't be able to catch them, to hunt them, you know? Predators are made to move, prey aren't. You are looking at this horses as if they were humans and they are not. I bet all of my money that they guy of the mustangs take care of their little buddies better than this man. Better food doesn't mean they live better. In the nature they eat what they have, what the earth give to them. They are not made to eat 3k of grain, they are made to eat in small amounts of grass, that's what they would eat in the nature.
      You sie clearly doesn't know about horses at all, as the man of the video. Too sad there's people like you under this industry of the horses
