- During the college football game between Kennesaw State and East Tennessee State, ETSU pulled off a miraculous comeback in the final minutes as they scored two touchdowns to win 32-31. East Tennessee State scored a touchdown with 1:28 left to make it 31-24, and then recovered an onside kick and scored another touchdown to make it 31-30 with 40 seconds left. They then made the gutsy decision to go for two, and converted making it 32-31. Their defense then came up with a stop and they held on for a stunning 32-31 victory over Kennesaw State in the FCS Playoffs.

Michael Reghi is a familiar voice from being a sports anchor and director in Toledo from '86-'91. He was a great Cleveland Cavaliers announcer too.

Being in the band at ETSU, it is truly remarkable to watch this team play. They are so resilient and they never stop playing, even when they are down.

It is mental that the FBS is still unable to organize a simple playoff bracket like the FCS.
It is such a solid proven system creating excitement and great matchups.
Plus these commentators are far better than the sterile sound bites you get on the bigger games.

The current system is an overly convoluted mess that puts off newcomers to college football and manages to piss off half the fanbases in the country every year.
And if you bring it up they just get pissed
The FCS has an actual 'middle class' of teams though. That is, there's better talent distribution; the FCS has a greater plurality of teams that can actually compete with one another, so the big bracket works. The FBS on the other hand is top heavy; if you have 12 or 16 or however many teams, you're going to be guaranteed to have genuinely bad one-sided games at some point. In the FCS there's a greater chance of 'any given Saturday' games/upsets than there is in the FBS. The FCS and FBS are two DIFFERENT leagues. I wonder when people will realize that very few things in life are apples to apples.
It's all about money and TV rights.

Michael Reghi and Jerod Cherry. Reghi has passion when he works and Cherry played football in the NFL for a little while. i think there two of best guys who do FCS and MAC games
They sound like fake announcers on a college football themed TV show on TNT called "First Down and Ken", where Ken is the main character and head coach.
Micheal Reghi use to do the Cavs games back in LBJ first 2 or 3 years in the league, he’s great

Jerod Cherry laughing his ass off because he's so entertained by the game is what makes this great. He's eating popcorn just loving football with the rest of us. I prefer this to the dispassionate "professional" broadcasts. Unfortunately you'll rarely see this level of passion from broadcasters above FCS level.

There were a few players behind our bench when we went to ETSU for a basketball game today. They seemed pretty cool and humble for a team that just came back and is now going even further in the playoffs.

I help film for the football team at ETSU and OMG was that game insane! Deadass was tearing up with 6 min left when we were down 31-17. But I’m so glad we came back! Excited to go to NDSU! Hope to make some magic and keep this season going!

This game was crazy and I’ve been a season ticket holder since they came back and anyone who left this game missed out because the last 2 minutes were electric. And going for 2 was the play of the day the way the Kennesaw State was running the option it was best to end it there where the option doesn’t help with only 35 seconds left you just drop the D back and not them behind you. Quay Holmes is a beast and has been all year Adkins stepped up at the end and now we have saw great endings to the last 2 games. I never saw William B Greene Jr Stadium that loud since they have been back and this season is good for the team and community that follows them. Go Bucs.
Now East Tennessee State has the privilege of going to Fargo, good luck.

I went to the University of Montana so I love the FCS playoffs. I actually watched this game, it was amazing and the announcers were awesome. I never watch the FBS' joke of a playoff system.

we have been having over 10,000 fans but had less than 9,000 because of 2 local high school state playoffs. KSU has 40,000 students. Do you not have a lot of fans come out?

Despite KSU losing this game, I'm surprised they are already any good to begin with. They just started their football team, like 5 or 6 years ago? Grew up in Kennesaw, like 15-20 minutes from the university.
ETSU did away with the Football program in 2002. They brought it back I believe the same year KSU started their program. ETSU did it right this time and built a great football stadium and the fans have been extremely supportive of the program since it's return. Really fun and exciting environment to go and cheer on the Bucs. I was shocked at how good KSU has been from the get go on their football program. A winning team and powerhouse every year. Personally, I think they should join the Southern conference to build a super conference like the Big Sky and MVC.

I agree at least move to 6 give the first 2 seeds a bye let 3 seed play the 6 and the 4 play the 5. Then the 1 seed gets which ever has the highest number beside there name and 2 gets the other. At least we could see if those team who barely missed out had something for the guys who didn’t. Plus you get games and more possibilities for excitement for the games. At war at this ETSU game I have had season tickets since they came back and that was possibly the best ending I’ve ever watched live in person.

Another thing I think people should recognize about this team is that the original football program was dropped after 2003 and no team was fielded again until 2015. This is just their seventh season as a new program.
These commentators deserve some serious praise for bringing the hype to the broadcast down to the final second. Gotta love when commentators act like actual fans of the sport and freak out when something awesome happens

I watched it multiple times. Kickoff is at the 35. He touches the ball after it goes over the yellow part of the E. So yes, it is FAIR! I was wondering the same thing. It looks like he was instructed INTENTIONALLY to go after it after 10 yards and went beeline for it!!!
