Ole boy is a machine!! Doesn’t need to sleep or eat! Just needs an oil change is all! I’m glad he didn’t catch a spark on one of those frets because that Taylor would have caught fire! Seriously though wtf??? SO AWESOME
I agree, metal shredders and sweep pickers need to step aside. Doing what they do is _easy_ compared to playing this fast and clean on an acoustic. The distortion and the fact that electric guitar is easier to play in general really, really helps shredders play fast. With acoustic flatpicking, you have none of those crutches at all and have to pick every single note perfectly clean or it is obvious that you flubbed a note (with electric guitars, flubbed notes aren't as obvious). Real crazy talent here. Put this guy on an electric guitar and he could easily shred as fast or faster than the best of them, no problem.
@@STSGuitar16 as a guy who plays metal shred guitar i completely agree.. This stuff is so damn hard to do compared to standard stock electric guitar shred.
STSGuitar16 I’m not so sure about that, as he’s never actually move his fingers as fast as the electric greats do. Many of them, at least at the way top, if you turn off their distortion it’s still very clean. But there is definitely fudge factor that you get with electric guitars and I’d put this guy’s level of precision on par with the top 10% of the very best electric guitar players no doubt.
This gives me fuckin chills dude. The amount of practice time he has put in to become that fuckin fast is just insane. That right there is what hard work and dedication will get ya.
Say what you want...this is some of the tastiest and cleanest flatpicking you will ever hear anywhere. Just accept it...this guy is smoking on this. Doesn't take away from any of the other greats out there.
Seeing these guys live is just unreal - so incredible! I notice the guitarist doesn't use his pinky when playing leads - or at least not much. Yep - never stopped Django either!
Wow. there are SO many great pickers now, this dude is SMOKIN'! That Taylor has the Expression pickup setup, and it's one of the best setups for clear recording.
Man this is amazing! The speed is unbelievable, but what I also admire is that you can hear the chord changes within the solos which is hard to accomplish in my opinion. Bravo! 👏
Ben Shavers and I agree with that, I don’t try to play at top warp speed, I can, but don’t like To and don’t want, but I’m also not gonna bash on dudes that can
All I can say is Awesome Trey!!! I miss seeing all the gang from Limestone and Jonesboro TN ! I'm still living in the Mountains though, just the North Georgia ones. We have some pretty good pickers around here but I think we could mix a little East Tennessee heat with the North Georgia Grass and y'all be Burnin Atlanta !!!
Check out Dan crary. One of the original leading lights in flatpicking. Used mossman first, the predecessor to Taylor, and he uses Taylor now and has his own signature model
Trey Hensley you both are both absolutely world class. I always hate to choose, this one is better then other. But although Billy is also transcending barriers , i think you got a tick there on him. I just love the musicality of you both ....
And this comment section made me realize that bluegrass fans are overly fickle and way too worried about little things. Who cares if he’s playing a Taylor? It ain’t the end of the world, and he plays better than you. Deal with it and appreciate the talent
Sorry - didn't mean it as a dig - quite the contrary - that's awesome stuff. I've been a Taylor player for 20 years & own 3. I get tired of hearing people say Taylors aren't a flatpicker's guitar. But, maybe I'm just retarded 😀.
Gee I own a Taylor just like that one but mine doesn't sound quite that good ;)
lawd that boy high on da kakayne
I have been playing guitar for twenty years but have not been even close to what this dude is doing with his guitar. This is sick. Mind-blowing.
Same, haha. Time to take up knitting or something!
I could play the guitar for 50000000 years and I wouldn't be even 10% as good and Trey!
I've been playing for 55 years so when I hear stuff like this, I feel like using my guitars as kindling
Ole boy is a machine!! Doesn’t need to sleep or eat! Just needs an oil change is all! I’m glad he didn’t catch a spark on one of those frets because that Taylor would have caught fire! Seriously though wtf??? SO AWESOME
Playing that fast on an acoustic guitar is no mean feat. In fact it's extraordinarily fast.

@@RADIOACTIVEBUNY he is talking about his picking
@@STSGuitar16 yup
They performed at my school yesterday and they are seriously amazing
This humbles me as a guitar player every time I see him
Bet look up this song by Billy Strings
Anyone who can pick like that can play any damn brand of guitar he pleases. Get bent y'all.

My favorite utube guitar video of all time
Damm he Tony ricing Tony rice...
Respect to these fine players.
Love this
I need a double like button for that!
some mighty fine pickin and a grinin
I’d be a Free Born man if I could slay either instrument like those two.
That's truly some extremely serious Dobro in the background as well!
That was sick BRO WTF
When Trey drop tunes and the guy flips out, Rob gets this look of pride on his face like "yeah I've got one of the best guitar players ever"
Seeing these guys live is just unreal - so incredible! I notice the guitarist doesn't use his pinky when playing leads - or at least not much. Yep - never stopped Django either!

Man - why are those TVs even on? Show some respect for the live music.
Wow. Guys must sit for hours on end pickn away...day after day after day....concentrating on finger movements. I mean...holy shit.
Bored Of Bills if you had half the talent that Trey does don't worry you don't.
YEAH! +Bored Of Bills--the only playing he can likely do involves taking his pants off!
Allsome man yall are so good
Awesome
Trey💪😎🎸🎵🎶🎵🎶
I’m learning the guitar at the minute and I only hope I can one day be half as good as this guy! Unbelievable is spot on!
Tip if you want to play like him you better go to the cross roads with a new born.
Making any progress yet? It's been 12 months.
Let's see that progress
Badass🤘🔥🤘
I’d like to have the tabs for those runs, but they wouldn’t fit on my computer.
this is soooo hot
So many jealous people on here... 99% chance that everyone on this thread that’s hating on him even has the ability to even open his case.

Speed isn't important.
It's not how much you say

Most adequate sir, thank. This was deffinately more fun to watch than Dolan Trump.
Anybody see the smoke trails coming off his fingers? Wooh! That should coax a few pickers out of the woods... :) love it.
Look out Martin guitars there's a new kid in town and his name is Taylor
Somebody sold their soul to the devil
Now that's some bluegrass guitar picking son
First Taylor I've seen used by a flatpicker. Awesome, guys!
Check out Dan crary. One of the original leading lights in flatpicking. Used mossman first, the predecessor to Taylor, and he uses Taylor now and has his own signature model
Sounds like you have some Tony Rice going on here. Nice!
Hensley is great!!!! check out Billy strings he's not any slouch either
Troy Abel Thank you very much for the kind words! Billy is awesome!

I personally account for 109k of these views
His wife is a very satisfied woman, if you know what I mean.
Yeah baby..... YEAH!
Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple brought me here

WOW! That's some mighty fine pickin'. Wish the camera would've stayed focused, it looks away at some of the best parts! Just awesome!
Those licks are hot!
I'll bet he replaces his strings twice a week picking like that
This man sold his soul to Morgan Freeman's nuts
Great job man. Just keep on running. Keep on running. May God bless you. Chuck

Even better than the Tony Rice version. Great musicians!
No doubt, the guys chops are awesome. But I bore quickly of just a speed picking demonstration.

Just hard to wrap your head around how amazing these two guys are. Amazing..!

thankyou

I think this just gave me tendinitis
For once ....the title truly says it all.... brilliant !!!!
That’s the best damn banjo playin’ I’ve ever heard..
I didn't hear a banjo break. Guess you don't need one with that guitar picking. But, my opinion the banjo needs to be a part of this.
@@michaelangelo9024 dude's probably referring to the dobro
When is he gonna learn to play that guitar?
shame the MC ruined the recording at the end there with his laugh
