She appeared to be handicapped and couldn't walk. It was going to take more than a couple of firefighters to move her and since she wasn't in imminent danger, it appears they kept their focus on the fire.

God be with these firefighters. I couldn't be up there on that roof! Fire freaks me out. I lost my first home to a fire when I was at work back in 89. I lost everything! That's what caused me to run for office and I won because we didn't have fire protection in our Township. When the insurance companies found out they canceled all the policies. So if you plan to move or live in a rural area, find out if they have fire protection before it is too late. These people are going to need everything replaced that can be replaced. What is hardest is things that can't be replaced like military service items and pictures, and family keepsakes. Oh yeah, take pictures of everything because you will have to list everything you lost. It is not easy to remember everything you own when you are in shock. Hope they had insurance. there is a new law in California that was put in place by large developers/builders/hedge funds which allows a so-called streamlined building process which is going to allow property owners to build pretty much whatever they want. when a structure like this has 3 fires (garage, 2 sep apartment buildings) that's going to allow a developer to rebuild a huge new mutli-story tower development for major profits. No saying this fire was intentionally set--but given the new build whatever you want CA law, I wouldn't be surprised to see more of these type incidents.

What USA fireplayers are great at is, making a small fire into a big one. Now tell me, how did all the roof cutting make this fire better, as in smaller and safer? Do you think a line on the roof had the proper Angle of Attack on all the burning material. Every time they cut a hole or trench, they draw the fire through the attic to that Pressure, Release, Location and destroy the structure along the way. You fight an attic fire like that by keeping it tight to suffocate and slow the advance of the fire, open small holes in the ceiling below, and fog the entire space. Also, keep this in mind.
