- Being a fantastic drummer has nothing to do with you having the best of drums to play with but that’s is not to say having a good gear is bad but at some point in life we all just have to be used to what can bring the best out of us any giving opportunity and am glad my friend and brother did justice to that narrative
check him out here @Afolabiemmanuel1
Don’t need expensive gear to be a great drummer… but this dude deserves some new drums for free!
Actually, he is now officially an endorser of Paiste Cymbals.
@@marcuscorvinus8927 who the fuck would endorse that guy?
@@noneck9008 Easy to answer. Endorsers seek for talent.

Yes, those stroking is very good 👍
I think that tone is like 70-80% technique. I've played DW and other expensive kits before and they sound bad in my hands because I'm not playing them as well as they should be played

Though not the most difficult thing he did, that was the thing that stood out to me the most. He executed that perfectly
That's legitimately one of the nicest snare sounds I've heard.
Piccolo snares are wildly underrated.
@@Cobalt985 Piccolo sound sick, you're not wrong at all.
Want a pro tip? Put a 2.5 pound weight on the head , right up against the rim at the top where you don't strike and you will get a really snappy sound 👍🏻 👌🏼, make sure to put a small hand towel down too so it doesn't slide , this also helps make it even crisper and poppy
too easy for my boy
@@GerstBladeworks You can also stick a small splash cymbal down on your snare for a super snappy sound. You can also hit it for some extra clinky cymbal ghost notes.

Talk about stamina
How do you get a tone like that? I’m struggling with tuning my snare rn. Want that tight sound that doesn’t have a lot of ring
@@SilversteinRescue just tighten the too head as much as you can. Normally the looser the bottom head the more ringy it is so if you want it really tight tighten the bottom head too. You could also buy a piccolo snare.

How ignorant do you have to be to think this guy doesn't have access to high level drum tuition and good quality gear???
You don't learn to play like this on a saucepan lid and a rubbish bin in a mud hut in Africa. He may come from an impoverished area and may have gone back there to film this but this guy lives in a city somewhere and has a nice kit.
Do you even know how to contact him?
@@adamimberti6948 Most people aren’t drummers, so they don’t know what it takes to learn.
The other thing is, those aren’t saucepans. He recreated something close to a drum kit.
Sure, he may have had a better one, or was able to learn on a high quality one.
But, it’s actually believable that this is what he currently has access to, or that someone would be capable of learning on this set up, because to create this set up you’d need ti have a lot of passion for it.
Sure, there are A LOT of scammers who make videos like these to get donations.
@@adamimberti6948 But, are you not aware of what’s going on in the world? How in Ethiopia literally millions has to flee suburbs and cities to live in the bush, as the infrastructure is collapsing, and other nations throughout Africa be it the Horn of Africa, to central, countless have been forced to flee, even nations that had the infrastructure to support physical banks have failed, leaving empty buildings.
( if you’re a US citizen, think back to the housing market collapse, and people trying to bring their money out and banks telling them “ you can’t. You have no money. Because we used it”. Except there was no bail out, and there is war)
Not every nation is like this but plenty are, making the situation that this guy originally has a drum kit, but no longer does much more realistic.
As he would’ve needed to play a regular quality one to rebuild this.
Not sure why you’re calling others ignorant when it seems to apply to you as well.
But it’s worse, because your calling those ignorant of a very very very specific skill set, that most of the world will never ever learn ( drums) while you’re ignorant of a crisis that’s so severe it’s spreading throughout an entire continent, and that continent plays a pivotal role to the rest of the world.

Dude, I had a similar experience as a 20 yr old in NYC. I was on a first date with a very attractive young lady, and had indulged in some marijuana use before her and I hopped on the subway to check out a show in Brooklyn. We got off the subway car and there was a circle around this older black guy on a full drum set. He immediately grabbed me with what he was doing. I cant even explain it, it's one of the powers of music and communicating through an instrument. This guy was standing there with his hand on his chin listening as I was to the building and weaving of sounds. It was an experience, not just a groove. Like listening to a story being told on drums. And this guy watching him just shakes his head at one point and laughs, and throws some cash into the man's jar or whatever. The drummer didnt notice, because he had his eyes closed. It was so epic and unexpected. I love the power of music.

Most people don't appreciate anything good. Lot's of talent in the world that is scuttled because of greed and stupidity... just "modern" human life. The morons and lunatics destroy everything. There are professional drummers who can't drum half as good as this kid who have 10 drum sets. In some sense though it is actually good he started this way. By starting on minimal crappy drums and learning to make them sound good means anything added is just icing. He still has a lot of work to do but I guess he is young so if he's able to continue playing he will be very good one day. He needs to work on his rudiments rather than single stroking everything. To be honest though there are tons of kids out there that could make great _____ but our capitalistic society doesn't care. It's all about $$$. So no matter how good this kid is, if he doesn't learn how money works he will never make it or end up being a slave to some corporation who will bleed his soul dry.

Better yet they should just give full finished kits to people you know gots the skills, they just dont have the means to afford it. DW and all the rest of the big companies that produce there products in such an abundance.should be giving away there best kits to poor people with talents like this guy. For big companies like DW and the rest of them should be doing this and not because it's charatable but because it's just the right thing to do. What's the point in having all those riches and still not do anything honorable with it.
When I say abundance I mean these companies produce in a ridiculous abundance. A good top of the line brand new built to last Tom bracket alone cost $50 or even more, thats just for 1, in most countries that 50 dollars can feed a whole family for a whole month. These days it seems that people just don't know how to give. Nothing feels better than giving someone sonething you know you have more than enough of it on your own. The whole point in creating abundance is so that everybody can get it. Giving to charity is really not the spirit of giving, especially when you know it's just a tax right off. Wealthy people don't want to give and they definitely don't want to share, its no wonder why the homeless are starting to camp out in rich neighborhoods. If I was forced to live on the streets I'm not gojng set camp in a shitty neighborhood, I'm gojng to post up my tent and lay somewhere nice clean and comfortable.

U don't say as a Japanese... a Japanese what? Person ... cat? Dog? Hotdog?
Always trying to compete. You don't say that to see them play together, you say that bcs you would want to see if ppl say the Japanese drummer is better.
Dat snare sound so good bro💪🏾
This is awesome stuff!!!
this is what we call TALENT!!
ya i doubt practice had anything to do with it.
this is what you call practise and dedication, the word talent should be yeeted out the dictionary already.
After 40yrs in the music industry I learned that talent is a misnomer. Anyone can learn anything, some take longer, some get it quickly. The word 'talent' should be replaced with Passion. Thats what really makes someone great!
The ones it comes easy to are usually jerks.
The ones who work at it are always humble and share the knowledge with others who wish to learn.
If you listen to this without watching the video you would never imagine what he's playing on. Awesome snare sound. Very nice!
They're not exactly bin lids, he still has symbols and a snare 😂 the bass drum is impressive though
Mad skills! 😮
This is what you call making music. Truly talented.
I understand he is great kid. And he did finally get a new kit. I hope and pray this young man is doing well!
How do you know he got a new set ?
Can we snatch and pay for his new drums?
reminds me of when I was kid. My dad (a drummer) split on my fam when I was around 11 or 12. He didn't leave me anything but I did find a broken ludwig speedking pedal , 3 broken cymbals, and two broken cymbal stands along with probably the cheapest snare drum I've ever seen ...all in this box in the garage. So I took my little tv nightstand, fastened the kick pedal to a broken skateboard and placed it so the beater would hit the back of the tv stand. that was my kick. put two broken cymbals together for the hats and had the other for the crash/ride. This was late 90's so , without the internet as a resource I didn't have a way of learning what "multitracking" was, but I figured out that I could record a drum beat using a cheap boombox, then play my drum recording off the boombox while playing guitar to it. if I came up with something good, I would get another boom box and record both myself playing guitar along to my "drum boombox" . Now that you can basically make a record on your cellphone, none of these means anything.lol.
Effortlessly smashing it 😎
