  • Hello and welcome to my channel
    Today I recorded something using 2 presets from Rabea that I downloaded from Cortex Cloud.
    I loved how they sounded isolated and I love how they sound in a mix.
    Let me know what you think!

    Nice video man. Have a question about your studio monitors. I tried out amp sims a few years ago and thought they were alright. So I bought a boss katana and used that for awhile but the tones you can get out of it seem more or less the same to me. Recently trialed some Neural Dsp plugins and they blew my mind. The response of the guitar feels like I’m playing through a real amp and they sound incredible. However I’m just using audio technica m50 headphones, I’m wondering how playing through your studio monitors feel in your experience. Is the guitar just as responsive as it is through headphones? How similar does it feel to playing through an amp?
    After playing with these plug ins over the past week I don’t even want to plug in to my boss katana now lol. I’m just a bedroom player and starting to like the idea of just having a pair of nice studio monitors, laptop and audio interface on my desk and start learning DAW software in Reaper.
    Is this feasible for a practice setup? Are the studio monitors enjoyable to play through in your opinion? And would you recommend the HS8 or the HS7’s? The room I’m playing in is 10’x11’

      Hey man, thanks for your comment. I‘ll try to answer this as best as I can.
      Firstly I agree, love all the neural dsp stuff. That‘s why I bought a quad cortex aswell…
      Since I haven‘t played real amps in years I can‘t really feel any difference. For me it sounds and feels dope. But as always you will have people that like it and people that don‘t.
      I would highly suggest you get a setup going and start recording yourself, that was the thing that helped me improve my playing because you will hear every mistake and sloppyness when playing it back and listening to it.
      And I think the smaller monitors will be big and loud enough. I bought my HS8 when I had an external studio, so I wanted to be really loud. Now in my apartment, I can‘t really use it to it‘s full potential because they would most probably kick me out 😂😂
      Cheers

    Amazin!!!! great job, have you connected the quad to the Focusrite interface with xlr cables? What DAW do you use?, thanks for answering!!💪🏻💪🏻

      Hey hi, thank you… glad you enjoyed it.
      Yes I connect the qc via xlr cables into my interface.
      And I used to use logic on my macbook but since I switched to a pc a couple of years ago, I started using Cubase.

      @@buricaliskan thank you so much dude, could you help me with the last question please? I bought the quad cortex a couple of days and I have the 4i4 Focusrite interface why do you use XLR connections and you don’t use the normal guitar cable into the input and the interface?, I have suscribed to your channel!!💪🏻💪🏻

    • @buricaliskan
      @buricaliskan  5 місяців тому +1

      @@megaBredman alright so you can use the normal guitar cables as well but apparently with xlr cables you have less „noise“.
      You can also use „balanced jack“ cables which are essentially like the normal guitar cables but have an additional black ring. You‘ll see it immediately if you google the difference between balanced and unbalanced jack.
      But essentially you can do both.
      I hope this answered your question 👌

    • @buricaliskan

      Thank you for your comment! I downloaded the preset using the cortex cloud app. After you add it to your favorites, you can then download it directly on the quad cortex when connected to wifi.

    Hi, I also just acquired a QC and I've noticed that you go from the XLR output, you need to use the USB output so you use it as an interface, the converters and the preamps are way better than the scarlett, also the stereo image is being crazy reduced in the way you're using it, it's not because of the output itself, it's because the interface and the A/D conversion.
    pd: this is not a hate comment I'm really just trying to help 😁👍🏻

    How are you connecting your QC to your computer? Is that via the Focusrite? I have mine connected via the XLR outs, and then via mini-jack into my PC, and I dont know if thats the best way to connect and use it :-?

    • @buricaliskan
      @buricaliskan  13 днів тому

      Hey man, I am connecting the qc via xlr out into my interface. In this video I am still using my focusrite as my interface, now I have another interface but the idea is the same.
      I heard from other people that they use the qc as the interface connected to the computer via USB cable.
      I think it comes down to preference.
      But what I can say is, having a separate interface is usually better than using the built-in soundcard in your PC.
      Hope this helps.
      Cheers

    Hi. Can you help me? How did you connect QC to monitors speakers? Xlr out to monitors input or? To pc?

    • @buricaliskan
      @buricaliskan  4 місяці тому

      Sure I can,
      So the "chain" if you will, looks like this:
      I have my QC connected to my Interface with XLR Cables (Input 1, Input 2).
      My interface is connected to: 1. my pc using USB, and 2. my monitors using XLR cables (Output 1, Output 2).
      So basically everything is connected to the interface.
      let me know if I can help you with anything else.
      Cheers

      @@buricaliskan what interface you have?can you go from qc. To monitors with XLR without using interface? The interface is only to connect it to PC?

    • @buricaliskan
      @buricaliskan  4 місяці тому +1

      @@anotherone9219 In that video I am using my Focusrite Scarlet 2i4.
      As for the other question, I am sure that also works since you can use your QC as an interface.
      I have never done that though, so I can't help you there.
      But I'm sure there is a guide on youtube if you look for something like "how to use QC as an interface" or "can I connect my monitors directly to QC"
      cheers

    It's a pity the QC Delays and Reverbs can't compete with the Kemper Delay and Reverbs.

      I might be too deaf or simple for that because I never had that issue 😁 I had a kemper before and was as happy with it as I am with the qc today 👌
