    Hey Buri how you doing? Wanted to ask you how do you connect Quad cortex with audio interface and record into your DAW? Is it the usual thing and do you tweak preset or any setting for it to sound good? Thank you

    • @buricaliskan
      @buricaliskan 9 днів тому

      Thanks for your comment! So I connect my Quad Cortex with the Interface using XLR cables. And the Interface is connected with my PC and my DAW. I have a couple presets ready to go, so usually I can just go pick the sound that I want. But for example if I try using a preset for the first time, I will always check if I have to tweak anything. Since this session was just getting the ideas out and "demo"ing the song, I didn't tweak anything. It was more important to get the idea out and see what can be done with it :-) Hope that helps Cheers

    I have 2 electric guitars I've been playing without an amp for 2,5 years just bought an shitty amp 3 months ago plugins doesn't sound good on standart speakers so I didn't use them either. Irony is one of them is a strat and other one is pretty good humbuckered schecter guitar like it does matter i play without an amp, next year if i have money i'll buy a processor

    • @buricaliskan
      @buricaliskan 11 днів тому

      I think depending on what you are trying to achieve, it might not be the worst idea to play without an amp. I used to play without an amp because my amp was at the rehearsal space, before I had a "home-studio" and I can give you 1 postive and 1 negative side effect of that. The positive one is for sure, I was properly hitting the strings, because without an amp, I wanted to be louder. So when I played with an amp, even without much gain, my tone was pretty heavy. (Playing Metal of course.) When playing cleans I adjusted my strenght and hit the strings a bit softer :-D But the negative side effect was I had to re-learn to keep the noise in control. Because at home, without an amp, there is also no feedback regardless of how your technique is. And also I think there are lots of people using the plugins with headphones, so that might be another solution in the meantime until you buy a modeler. Thanks for your time cheers

      Hmmm I think you might‘ve run out of riffs my friend. I hear that buying a new guitar helps with at least 6 consecutive riffs. And playing it through a quad cortex is obviously adding 2 more. Again with the strandberg 😀 Whenever I get a new guitar the ideas are flowing somehow, I guess it is the same for you. Are you doing anything with these riffs, ideas? If you have time for a longer video you could show how you come up with these drum parts, because they are great.

      Hey Adam, I agree 100% with the ideas. Actually some of the riffs will be used in future projects and releases. Others are just for the videos. It‘s a kind of a „musical journal“ for me where I can see how my production and guitar playing have evolved etc. And it‘s always good to keep the songwriting muscle flexed 😁 As for the drumming… I try my best to channel my inner matt halpern and use as many cymbals and ghost notes as possible 😂😂😂 I am currently trying to figure out the best way to live stream and then I want to write a song on stream. There we will see my drum writing process as well 👌 Cheers
