Just did my 07 classic Silverado with the 5.3 and I have shorty headers but still have the cats. I got the venom 300 single 3"in and single 3" out. I love this muffler they sound so nice. Hey I'm with you on the peppy part with the sound I think it just sounds crisper. Great video Bro! 👍
Dude I found this brand black widow literally because I got behind a truck and it sounded awesome. I’m thinking about throwing one of their mufflers on my stock 07 Hawkeye Impreza non-turbo 😝
It's not going to bother the Neighbors at 4 in the morning until your foot is all the way through the floor, standing on the pedal while it's against the pavement!! ROFLMFAO!!
Sounds badass, The truck looks sick. I have a 07 classic 4x4 Silverado with just a I think 44 series flowmaster. The truck has the 5.3 in it and replaced the lifters because one was bad and did a small 212/218 low lift cam and now I'm ordering some long tube headers and Y pipe. I heard black widow exhaust on some display trucks at a offroad expo and seriously thinking about them now. Thanks for the video. 👍
@@justinshields4216 after seeing the difference in stainless material, tig welding rather than crummy MiG, the Carvens hands down. For them being local and made in the US I believe black widow has no excuse to be at the price point they are for their lack in quality.
I appreciate the info, I was gonna put an X-pipe duel exhaust with two neighbor haters and I was afraid of the drone in the cab. I don’t mind some drone just not to the point on long trips it gets annoying and ya can’t talk ya know.
I totally agree, my newest exhaust set up is REALLY loud and it’s cool at times. But driving home from work after an 18 hour day... I’m not a fan I just want quiet sometimes
Freddy DeAnda I love it! I have about 5 inches more wheel travel with this kit and fk rod ends all around fabbed spindles and tie rods aswell, for the price difference between these two kits cwf I believe to be far superior all around and still a bolt on application for an easy install
What type of lift are u running? What coilovers? What upper control arms My truck/ I cut the exhaust rite behind the cats an sounds great. But yea ur truck looks awesome bro.... Where u located I'm in fullerton
I’m in menifee! And it’s a dirt king race kit so it’s not really a lift as much as it’s a long travel kit. I run a 2.5 x10 king IBP coilover and plan to add a triple bypass aswell up front
I have a 05 1500 5.3. I'm really looking for something that turns heads, and is obnoxiously loud with a decent priced exhaust. Do you think this is the one?
I have a 2005 Silverado with a dual cat delete and I have a aftermarket flowmaster muffler and I don't know which one I'm wanting to change it but I'm on the edge about a flowmaster outlaw or a neighbor hater if anyone has any knowledge of which one is louder it will be greatly appreciated
Truck sounds. I got a 03 Silverado with with Gibson shorty headers and two cats running off each one now my current setup is both headers are dumping into one single Flowmaster than exiting out behind the rear tire. Now would I get better flow if I was to go with 1 muffler with dual inlet/outlet on the truck or would it make a difference?
akclan33 this is sort of a debatable topic, in my opinion I think the best thing you can do to equalize the exhaust would be an X pipe to dual mufflers. The shorter exhaust is better for flow so dumping before the axle, and the biggest difference you’ll see would be from doing long tubes headers and having the motor actually tuned and running no cats. Mufflers and x pipes you’re really just making different sounds.
So u just chopped the exhaust off 3 inches after the cat and have this muffler with no turndown in the video? I was thinking of doing something similar but with the bigger widow Maker muffler hoping for loud deep idle but not obnoxiously loud when I'm just doing some normal driving.
fbody23100 if you have a 14+ I can definitely say a deep idle won’t happen unless it’s cold for a few minutes or if you go full headers and delete the cats, I started it straight piped thinking “oh it’s going to be so loud” and it’s really not
I like it. I got some Flowmaster Super 40's on my truck for a while but I'm looking for to change them. It's pretty loud but I those Black Widow neighbor haters
I’ve got a 03 3.4L Tacoma and want better sound than my stock. I’ve been looking at a few different brands but I’ve been told that the black widow mufflers sound the best and are louder. My pipes from the cat back are all pretty rusty and i want to get a new one. If I got just the black widow muffler, should I do the same thing as you did where u cut it off right after the cats or should I somehow get some pipes coming out the passenger side and weld the muffler to the pipes? Thanks
I’m not sure what size your stock exhaust diameter is, it may make it easier to go and weld some new maybe 3 inch tubing a little further back and throwing the muffler on there, my truck is off road oriented so the Exhaust is ussually pre-axle to allow for the suspension travel and ground clearance. With that said I think it’s what you want to do, black widow will definitely help with the sound!
What’s up bro need your help . I have a 5.3 Tahoe with a super 10 . Just installed longtube headers and my sound went to shit . She sounds like a farm truck at high rpms with way too much clap . Do you think this muffler will help deepen the sound note ?
The skid plate I custom made myself with DOM tubing and had the aluminum cut out on a plasma table. The carbon one is made by fiberwerx and mostly intended to go with their front fenders
I now went to a carven TR series, and am extremely impressed with the build quality at the same price point. Absolutely sticking to carven in the future. Full stainless tig welded while the black widow got rusty and was mig welded. And sounds better with some packing. Less black widow “clap” sound
16ValveVtec no but if you want I could shoot you a pic via Instagram! It’s basically 18 inches of 3 inch tubing welded beyond the 3rd cat and then the muffler only at the end. Trying to make it as loud as I could with stock cats
