Went benidorm for the first time 2 years ago... And stayed at centro Mar. I have been 4 times Since... Love it! Was nice to see it, but strange as. It was usually busy up there in the day.

Really too much hassle and no fun anymore in going abroad anywhere. Staying at home isnt much fun either Lucy .wearing our masks social distancing along the street , in the shops , on the buses and trains .So to do exactly the same abroad is a no no . One day maybe it will be better , but as a few comments below have also said , there has got to be a vaccine before Anything changes .Keep up you great videos and stay safe too
Steve Bristol What did you expect? We were warned all changes to lockdown could be reversed at short notice. The actions taken are based on cases- they go up, the rules are tightened. It was always going to be the case. People need to remember we haven't faced such a virus in a century, and the world was very different then, so policy was always going to be reactive. It's a shame of course, but nobody can honesty call this a surprise.
For example herr in Sweden we have what they say about 6000 dead from corona. But in a study says mot more people then a ordinary year have died. There is much things about this virus that dont feels right

I was due to fly today and stay in the Hotel Marina but holiday was also cancelled but Easy Jet flight still went. Its going to be a very tough year for all of us and unfortunately some of the bars will close and will not reopen again.

Not coming over to Benidorm for a while as have other plans, used to go each year but TBH it went a bit scruffy, but now I see it in a different light, and this is because of your videos, so well done for converting someone like me. Thanks for the update and mention of travel insurance,when I have mentioned the difficulty in getting it I have been reminded more than once that with the Battle Place Plan there is no problem.There is for anyone over I think the age of 60 possibly lower.There were one or two more but the minute our Government changed their advice they wouldn't cover a stomach upset never mind were you to have a genuine accident.

So gutted that we weren’t able to fly out on the 29th. Just spent the weekend in Brighton, it was a free for all, especially in the evening. Benidorm looks so much safer. I go every year and love it x
Very good point about the travel insurance. You must have this especially now. I once took a child to hospital there with food poisoning and they were focused not on the child but on the policy. Two hours in child not enen checked though dangerously dehydrated. Even though I had a policy they got me to sign a guarantee of payment in case the insurance would not. In the current situation I would not like to be needing to go through this.

I think I may have found an answer to travel insurance that may work for some people. There are specialist insurance companies that specialise is selling insurance to travel against FCO advice. (See internet sites for Battleface and Warzone). This is not an advertisement - I just want to help those who may be as confused as I was about insurance. These companies normally deal with people who are travelling to dangerous places for humanitarian or journalism work - that said, they are aware of the new rules for Spain and are giving advice accordingly. My insurance for Spain cost £28 for a single person for 8 days. It includes medical cover for Covid 19 as well as the other general hazards. Of course, you will need to look carefully at the policy and/or ring them up to make sure that it works for you. I hope this helps somebody 😀

I will be 300 km from the infection spike in Spain. for me, the FCO advice sounds a bit like - ‘we’ve found it in John o Groats, I wouldn’t go to Lands End if I was you.’ I am prepared to take wise advice - I am NOT prepared to live with irrational fear.
derek starks what’s clear is that there is no exemption clause that means that the insurance is void if I go to Spain contrary to FCO advice -, most of the time this company deals with insurance for humanitarian workers/journalists to countries in war zones - never in a million years did I think I would be buying it to sit on a sun-bed in Spain - but there you go. . Other than you can buy the insurance for countries that the FCO are advising against, it is similar other travel insurance. The insurance underwriters are a top class British outfit and that gives me added confidence. Of course, it is important for each person to read the policy/contact the company - it might not work for everyone, particularly those with pre-existing conditions All I am trying to do here is point people in a direction that can, possibly, provide them with a valid insurance policy in this situation. I hope that I may save somebody’s holiday, or more importantly, prevent them from finding themselves needing to claim and then not being insured. If anybody else has a fly comment to make, can they direct it towards the bin and away from me - I have only logged back on to this in case anybody has an intelligent question to ask. Would love to come it's the quarantine that's stops people especially if you are working and knowing you have to have another 2 weeks off . They should just check temperatures when you arrive and return . If no temperature then no quarantine. Makes more sense.

I know you are trying to be positive but there is no way anyone arriving now will have any valid travel insurance as the UK Gov has advised nothing but essential travel. Im curious whether the European Health card is still valid when the Gov gives that advice as even during normal times that should be enough to get treatment in the Spanish Public health system. I notice the sunbeds on the beach are all empty and the locals just use a towel or a small chair. Are the locals too tight to pay for a sunbed ?
not to tight, just not stupid. they tend to go for a few hours in the morning and/or the evening so are not going to pay twice a day for one or two hours and at 6 euros a sunbed you would be stupid not to buy your own for 25 euros

I know you are trying to be positive but there is no way anyone arriving now will have any valid travel insurance as the UK Gov has advised nothing but essential travel. Im curious whether the European Health card is still valid when the Gov gives that advice as even during normal times that should be enough to get treatment in the Spanish Public health system. I notice the sunbeds on the beach are all empty and the locals just use a towel or a small chair. Are the locals too tight to pay for a sunbed ?
not to tight, just not stupid. they tend to go for a few hours in the morning and/or the evening so are not going to pay twice a day for one or two hours and at 6 euros a sunbed you would be stupid not to buy your own for 25 euros
