Oh Paula!!!!! I didn't know you have a UA-cam Channel!!! (Just subscribed!) I watched you for years and years on The Food Network and ALWAYS have loved you! You were one of my favorites (and still are!) I did a search because my sister-in-law and brother-in-law are going to Savannah this week and I so want them to eat at your restaurant! (I've never been)......this country fried steak is making me soooooooooo hungry!!! I am 68 years old and cook all of the time and gravy is something I always said I couldn't make. You made it look soooooo easy!!! BTW you look FANTASTIC! I always thought you were so pretty and you still are! You have so much class and are still hilarious and charming. I greatly miss you but I am sooooo happy I found your channel today. Sending you much love!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!! xoxo
My favorite meal is chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy. I’d rather have that than some expensive steak. Strange thing is I rarely make it and I don’t know why. I do order it when we eat out and the best I’ve ever had was at a Mennonite cafe in our area.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles but my mom was a farm girl from Oklahoma. She made the best biscuits and gravy. I remember her big cast iron skillet bubbling away as she stirred enough gravy to feed our big family. Her secret ingredient was evaporated milk. She called it Pet Milk, but sometimes she used Carnation.
I love both "country fried" and "chicken fried" steaks. I have never seen it placed on a biscuit and eaten like that. But I will try it, that way. I love to have mashed "taters", corn (creamed or niblet), and either peas or green beans. I see this being made soon in my house... Thanks Paula
Thank you Paula Deen for the many years I have watched you and definitely in my opinion your recipes are right up my alley as they say. May GOD'S peace be with you and your family!
Yes, only turn your meat one time. We learned that and our restaurant business. This looks delicious, I can't wait to try it. I remember one show where you went up against Bobby Flay with his chicken fried steaks or country steaks. You won that competition. Love you, Paula.
Paula , thank you so much for this video!! My grandma Frankie only made gravy with water (she never used milk) and it was the BEST gravy! I can still remember what it tasted like! You are the only person other than her that I've seen make water gravy! Thank you for bringing back some beautiful memories of grandma Frankie for me❤️ She would fry pork steaks the same way you made the country fried steaks and make water gravy. Was one of my favorite things she made. Love you Paula!
Whether it country fry or chicken fry i love them both. My momma tried and tried to teach me how to make gravy. My daddy taught me and I got it the first time. Sure do miss them both.
Mrs Paula you have been a staple in my household for many years, My wife and I live in Southeastern NC and have enjoyed all the wonderful recipes for years! Thank you!! As I'm setting here watching this getting ready for work I could definitely have this for breakfast! Yum!! Thank you again
MMMM, this looks so good. I love country fried steak. You make gravy like I learned from my mother. She never made milk gravy, so I really prefer gravy made with water. I love steak fried really crisp and I sometimes do dip it in buttermilk. I love the crumbs left in the pan and you talking bout some good gravy, mmm. That is a great idea to buy some cube steak and fix it, and that is really a great meal. Thank you so much Paula, you are so amazing. I have never thought about putting onions in the gravy.
❤ Love your down to earth no nonsense cooking style Paula!! No bowing to newfangled gimmicks and saying stuff just to sound clever..just old fashioned good cooking!!!😊🎉 keep it up please?!!
Where I come from, our country fried steak is dredged in flour, egg or buttermilk, then flour again, and fried in bacon grease. The drippings are used to make the best sawmill gravy you've ever tasted made with sweet milk, and besides the best biscuits you've ever tasted, save room for some fried taters with onions, sliced tomatoes, and just go ahead and pour the gravy all over everything. Always thought chicken fried steak was one of the stupidest phrases in the culinary world.
It’s named that because of the method of dredging and frying. Also she stated in the video that Country Fried Steak is different from Chicken Fried Steak.
You make it look so easy and eventually when I get into my kitchen I will try this recipe we're used to just eating cube steak with you put butter in the pan and you make the cube steak when it's so tender my father used to say it would melt in your mouth I've never tried gravy and flour and biscuit and all that stuff usually a starts like mashed potatoes in the side and some green beans
Was just thinking... would you be interested in doing a series about "The Victorian Home, and How It Was Lived In" ?? 😊 This, to me, has always been such an intriguing subject, and so interesting! Have you ever considered, perhaps, conducting a walkthrough of your house, and explaining how they would have used certain rooms, what purpose did they serve, and why the rooms in the home were so spacious? How would they keep it warm in the Winter and cool in the Summer? 😊 The house is a very important aspect of your beautiful, Victorian era channel, so it would only seem appropriate to share it. Thank you for considering this idea😊❤ 🌲Washington State 🏞️💐
Hi Paula! Thank you for making this wonderful country style steak! I make it almost exactly the same way except after I make the gravy I put it all in a 9x13” casserole dish covered in foil & bake on 350* for 45 mins to 1 hr & is always so so good!! Thank you so much for all of your recipes & I love you so much ❤️
Paula Deen, whenever I see these amazing dishes that you make, I tell my mom that your my real mom and she just adopted me. I miss your show and always look forward to our recepies. Thank you for all that you do!
Mom used to make something like that. They were labeled Minute Steaks at the grocery store. My brother and I hated those darn things. Although I know Mom liked them & never understood why her kids didn't. But the steaks were always tough and full of gristle. Too bad she didn't have a Paula Deen to help her out!
Hello there Paula. It is always so good to see you. This dish is one of my favorites. Thank you so very much for everything you do. Your hard work and dedication is outstanding 👍💪
In my asshole opinion I haven't found ANY quality in almost ANYTHING in this day and time. Pisses me off because stuff is so expensive seems to be such a waste. We have to eat though unfortunately so we are a slave to the world in some aspect. Anyway love you Paula you are a highlight in my life and I am thankful for YOU!! ❤ I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!! That steak looks yummy !!!😋
Go sit in a city park or a college campus and make yourself stay for one hour. Guaranteed you will feel better. And stop eating fast food. Good luck. 🙂
My Grandma taught me to fry venison like this only we use potato water instead of plain tap water. The starch from the potatoes makes the gravy thicker.
You ma’am are making me hungry country fried steak is one of my favorites when mom makes it I absolutely love it I always have to have seconds it’s just too tasty
I know we've talked about making gravy before, but do you make your own or do you prefer pre-made gravy?
Home gravy! 😀👍🏼
Homemade gravy. Milk gravy on biscuits and fried steak. NOTHING BETTER!
I always make my own. I can’t even imagine what store bought gravy tastes like!
Homemade always
I prefer homemade gravy is so good and I love it better than buying it from the store. God bless you, your family, friends, and your UA-cam channel.
I love watching this woman cook. She is the epitome of a classy homemaker
Absolutely
I do too.
Classy does not constantly lick their fingers and touch the food again.
some cream potatoes and some sweet ice tea with peach cobbler for dessert and you got a full meal
I’ve made Paula’s Peach Cobbler. It awesome.
Right up my alley Paula Deen. Yummy!
My late momma used to make this for me every year for my birthday. It was a special treat. I'm glad to see it back again. ❤️
I would serve that with Mashed Potato’s & put the gravy on top!! Yum!
It's a great comfort food for cold weather.
Great on a cold rainy day!

Dang Paula! That is southern comfort food at its finest!

I Love alot of butter with my Biscuits!!! There is nothing better!!! God Bless Us All!!!
I love watching you cook. I always think of my Mama. She was a wonderful cook and she LOVED Paula Deen. She would have loved your UA-cam channel.
Same!

Our gravy was always white sawmill gravy made with milk. We never had the other kind on any meat. This looks really yummy.😊
Whether it country fry or chicken fry i love them both. My momma tried and tried to teach me how to make gravy. My daddy taught me and I got it the first time. Sure do miss them both.

That is comfort food for me. My mom used to make that, I need to make it for my husband and I.
YUM‼️ This is how my momma made liver and onions except she cut it into bit size pieces and we always had it over home made biscuits
It yummy one of my favorites! That flower on your stove is beautiful!
🥰👩🏻🦱🧸
Just a thought, Paula Dean, you are a gem. I have always loved to listen and watch you. Love you are upbeat and of course, The Food!!

@@orthodox_gentleman
Several meats are dredged, but that has nothing to do with chicken.
Stupid people even say chicken fried chicken.
Love your videos Paula been watching you since I was in my 20s
Double yum!!!
Please make some more easy recipes ❤️❤️❤️
I want to live with Paula and eat that wonderful food every day 😃😃😋😋😂😂

Grow ur own veggies and buy meat from a local rancher....otherwise you are at their mercy.
So many local ranchers in ny and nj
Go sit in a city park or a college campus and make yourself stay for one hour. Guaranteed you will feel better. And stop eating fast food. Good luck. 🙂
