Hello there. In your last video you mentioned you mention that Campbell River was a small town when in fact it is a city. I have been here for 45 years. In the 80s it was a thriving community but since the mill and mines have closed our city has changed drastically. Our shopping is limited and you will have to travel to Nanaimo for any kind of selection. It is expensive to live here. The housing is very expensive and rentals are unaffordable and limited. The property taxes are high also. Our downtown area was once thriving but now there are not many stores that have survived. We finally just had a shoe store open recently. There is also a problem with homeless people in the downtown and other areas in town. As you mentioned there are problems with travel but that are some of the drawbacks of living on a island. I have traveled to many parts of the world from here with few problems. It just takes some. Planning. I thought it was important to mention the real drawbacks to moving here at this time. I'm hoping that the future will bring some positive changes for my grandchildren and others.

Hi Valerie! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences about Campbell River. It's valuable to hear from someone who has lived in the area for so long and witnessed its changes. While it's true that Campbell River has grown from a small town to a city, and like many places, it has faced challenges such as economic shifts and housing market pressures, there are still aspects of the city that residents cherish. The recent opening of new stores and the enduring beauty of the island's nature are just a couple of examples. Change is constant, and with engaged community members like you, there's hope for a future that brings improvements for everyone, including your grandchildren. Your insights help paint a fuller picture of life in Campbell River, and I appreciate you taking the time to share them.

Hi there! Your welcome and thankyou for your reply. I didn't mean to be a negative Nancy but it is important for people to know some of the drawbacks. Yes there have been a couple of new stores over the past year which is great. I realize you are a realistate agent trying to make a living. You seem lovely and I will mention your name to anyone I hear of looking to buy. Keep it real and you will do well and people will appreciate it. Thanks dear❤
