Thanks for watching! Like I mentioned in the video this tutorial was inspired by a conversation I had with my camera man Alec while working on a project in Denver. Checkout the darkroom page he made here- aleccoutinho.darkroom.tech
I uploaded some photos to Darkroom and they looked HORRIBLE. I got in touch with them and Kristopher said they had their engineers working on it. He also said the problem wouldn’t effect the finished product. I don’t think I’ll be selling many prints the way they look online. Have you heard anything about this from anyone else?? I though this site would be exactly what I wanted.
I wish services like Darkroom integrated with Squarespace! Curious to see what you'd do if you wanted to dropship photo prints via your Squarespace page (I've only tried Printful)
Yo! I’m wondering what your preferred printing options are for your prints from simply color lab? Kind of paper? Matt, gloss? Thanks Evan love the vids! Great help for aspiring artists
Amazing video!👍👏 I just began my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They have an incredible range of digital comics for every genre, including the hard to find ones. Lifetime updates too!
Thank you for this video! I’ve always been intimidated with selling prints, this actually makes it pretty simple. I’ve also been thinking of getting the PPA insurance ever since getting the Q2 haha. Is there a major difference between PPA Full vs Full Plus?
Can you do a video on this vs using printique? Printique is integrated with squarespace so I wanted to know if it would be easier or cheaper to go that route…
Awesome Video.... Is there a way I can determine how Large I can print a photo? Is it the size of the file or the MP of the file or is even a website I can test out a file to be enlarge to?
It's extremely easy to see the physical size of a digital image in Photoshop. Open up your file, click image, click image size, and change the dimensions to your preference. Resolution plays a BIG part in physical size (good and bad) so make sure you know what you're doing before you start changing things. There's formulas out there that take what the human eye is capable of perceiving into account, but everyones opinion on what looks good or bad is different. Start printing your photos and start gathering hands on experience!
Quick question: are there any resources you would recommend for navigating the legal aspects of selling prints? What photos can i sell and which can't i sell? Great video. Thanks for sharing 🎉
I use simply color lab, as I outlined in the video I prefer to sign the prints. But this is a hood option for people who want to implement a passive income print strategy into their business or can’t handle the process of inventory and shipping
Is this only effective for people inside the states? I live in Ireland and have started selling prints on my Squarespace website but I’m doing everything made to order atm so it’s expensive I think a system like this might be better. Any recommendations? Thanks for the video. Absolutely love your stuff 🙏
Hello! I am just jumping in to say that darkroom ships worldwide. I am in Australia and I sell on my darkroom shop all over the world 🌎 it’s such a great way to sell prints if you don’t have much time. I love darkroom and now you have this video to show you exactly how it start it up too!
If I do not have an Instagram can this still be applied? How can I promote my photography with out social media? Really want to have prints as a passive income.😊
Aren't these selling methods using all the images photographers upload to feed AI systems? Do they have a contract where they mention something about this?
I was wondering the same thing. Do they have suppliers that ship from a another country. Shipping cost and time if shipped from the US would be too difficult…
I want to know, from anyone at all that's sells prints in any platform. Does anyone have customers from South Africa that buy prints from them?? Or if you're a photographer from South Africa selling prints, how's the market??

Honestly you’re the most useful photographer on UA-cam!
I just started mine! I hope people will look for photos from the Philippines :)

Have you had success with them? I’ve uploaded some and I’m looking into the upgrade.

Printique through Squarespace is awesome I use them as my regular printshop as well
thanks for this evan, i’ve been wanting to start selling prints and this is perfect!
Thanks for watching!
I love Darkroom, haven't sold on there yet, but the option (once I finally get off my butt and do it) being there is incredibly helpful.
Love this video. Getting back into photography and didn’t know about this. Thanks.

Wow, fantastic video. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for outlining this process Evan, very helpful!
That’s fantastic, thanks for sharing!
Do you have to set a storefront Evan? Or will darkroom print for personal use? Or is there another company or service you recommend?

@@LucyLumen but the shipping costs are pretty high... duties unpaid is fine but i don't know how much they might charge me later
This looks super simple!
@RanftEvan what about drop prints from a square space site? Would you recommend a darkroom link posted to a square space gallery?

THANKS A BUNCH, AMAZING VIDEO!!!

Thats amazing. Will start doing that :)
Great stuff. Thanks for sharing
Files you add to the gallery, 300 DPI?
If I do not have an Instagram can this still be applied? How can I promote my photography with out social media? Really want to have prints as a passive income.😊
thanks man it was so appreciated :))
Nice vid thank you for sharing with us
Thanks for the video. Question, is there a way to do this and not use Instagram? I have a very low regard for Instagram.
Thank you for this video!
How does sales tax work? I have a sales tax number for Il but how does that work. Do they take care of that.
Aren't these selling methods using all the images photographers upload to feed AI systems? Do they have a contract where they mention something about this?
Hi Evan, Is this site only available for US Citizens or also for European?
I was wondering the same thing. Do they have suppliers that ship from a another country. Shipping cost and time if shipped from the US would be too difficult…

That’s a nice service! I’ll try it! I live in Brazil but I guess there are no issues with that. Thanks for sharing
Very helpful, thanks

8:37 Did you check the other prices? Those margins are not 50%.
So dose darkroom print the photos and ship them. All I do is just upload them

What service do you use for you own prints?
Simply color lab 👍
@@RanftEvanis that a paid for service???
@@TheyCallMeSubliminal no, you need an account to order but its free
Is there any way to embed this on my site? 👀
Can’t seem to see my gallery on my darkroom
TY!!! AWESOME
any good uk alternatives?
Is this only for the US? I live in Europe, and I want to sell worldwide.
You know I’m not 100% sure, sometimes I get wrapped up and forget about shipping outside of the us. I’d check their about page
I am in Australia and I use darkroom and I’ve sold to people all over the world! It’s a great option no matter where you are. Awesome video Evan!
does anyone know how well this works shipping to canada?
I live in Armenia and I can't use paypal. damn.
The video was ok but the moment you mentioned Instagram I switched off.
My man bought a camera flash. 😂😂😂
Haha only took 10 years!
Which flash did you end up buying for your Leica Q2? Been in the market for one myself for my Leica Q2.
more tedious than fine art America.....
Definitely going to try that, thanks
wow, great video. thanks so much
Thank you, really helped me!
