Vasko, great overview from your perspective as a seasoned Canon professional. I can tell that you’re really excited by this new purchase! One of the features I really like about the GFX (actually all recent Fuji cameras) is the vertical display of screen information in portrait mode. I find it’s now hard for me to go back to the landscape display of other systems when taking portrait-angled shots. Nikon is now doing this with their new Z cameras so I hope Canon follows the same path. BTW, I know that you’re into using vintage lenses on your R5 so I will be very interested in your experiences in adapting vintage lenses to the GFX100S. From my perspective, it’s a real treat. Maybe the topic for a future video?
Great video! For me the biggest benefit of 16bit is in tonality. The subtle velvety smooth gradation of color in the image. Life long Canon and RED shooter that got hooked on Fuji when I picked up an XT5 then X2S. Can’t wait to get my hands on this camera.
YES exactly. The many more tones and colors really create smooth grade. I feel like once I get used to shooting with GFX I might not be able to go back to Full Frame. lol. Appreciate the comment.
I'm really enjoying the GFX 100s as well. It's such a pleasure to use. The only time I take the R5 over the 100s now is when I need speed or fast reliable AF. If Fuji could clean that AF I would be so happy. Welcome to the channel if it's your first time here. More 100s content on the way :)
It's all about getting used to the new camera body and buttons. Once the muscle memory kicks in I'm sure it will seem a lot more intuitive. Thanks for the comment.
Yes, but based on my experience, it is a lot more work compared to customizing the film simulations on Fuji cameras. Also, I found the custom picture styles on my R5 not to as “rich-looking” as the Fuji film sims. The solution would be for the R5 Mark II to have the capacity for uploadable LUTS as noted in the video.
Hey thanks for the question welcome to the channel. To be honest I'm so new to the GFX system it's hard for me to say. Plus I haven't had the chance to use the 100 II yet. But I will admit that 100 II looks really nice. The 100 II has nicer features than the 100s especially that 9mill dot EVF. But to be honest I don't think it's $2000 better. Both cameras have the same sensor so image quality should be identical. You're paying a lot to get the same image quality you would get from the 100s. So I shoot the Canon R5 and a Fujifilm gfx100 and I find myself grabbing the gfx100 90% of the time

You can create custom looks using Picture Style Editor for Canon and upload them to the camera.

Remember you get 16bit when shooting on S mode, on C it drops down to 12-14 bit
