Your oil finishing techniques always take your builds to the next level, no matter how simple the core model is. Watching your videos actually encouraged me to add oils to my paint collection. Pleasing to see, as always!
One of the most therapeutic videos that I’ve watched....I just don’t tire of watching you blend the oil paints in and then see the finished result! Fabulous stuff!
Damn!!! David that”s just outstanding....not sure what some are moaning about, it’s all about the finished product, getting there and how you do it doesn’t matter. Your work never ceases to amaze and inspire me....and thank you for sharing your skill!
Thanks, David. I started watching this video thinking "This is no use to me, I'll never make a wooden plane", and then towards the end you did the panel darkening and I thought "That would work great on an F-14 or Su-27".
Using hairdryer for Mr. Softer makes a magic! As it gets warm, the decal will be very soft, and with the help of the airblow, you can set the decal onto extremely irregular objects.
Hi, Thanks a lot for the video with all the great tips, for big decals it always help if you combine hot air from air gun or hair dryer with the setting solution, no decal will resist this combination!
I watch a lot of different Modeler UA-camrs. Sergio Solo makes the best videos (productions value, camera, lighting, informative, etc) But YOU make the best models. Your abilities are at least one step above every other modeler on this site. Glad I found you! PS check out Sergio Solo for some inspiration ;)
I intend to detail my RC foam WW1 Folkker D2 and the thing needs weathering and all that. Especially the fake wood grain work. Lucky for me, I started building models long before I got into RC Planes. It will look realistic when I am done.
Fabulous... thank you. Suggestion though, in the video you use different brushes for different things. For example, there's a point towards the end where I think you use a short-bristle brush with a bit of thinner on it as a blender, maybe? It would help to add a subtitle to tell us what each brush is doing. (not a criticism of any sort, your videos are super helpful just as they are, it's just a thought. I love that you're doing a Great War series, that's one of my favorite subjects... thanks!)
My favourite of all your models - by far. I would love to see you build something like the revell viking ship. Plastic ship models are really difficult to pull off well and that kit would certainly allow you to expand and experiment with this. Just ignore the horrible "sail" it comes with. Also, old tugboats make absolutely wonderful subjects - the banged up, oxidized and repainted hulls that have taken years of salt water and abuse a weathering dream! And one can add all kinds of wonderful stuff like nets, fenders, lines etc..
man i would like to see more diorama videos...for example i cant never ever find video how to make airfield diorama for planes....it would be amazing! btw great videos keep continue
Will enamel thinner allow you to remove a part that had been glued together? Building this model now and already added the wings and rudder, but I plan on adding the wood decals. Need to remove the wings and rudder so the wood decals can be added.
I have a lot of patience, but I would seem like a 6yr old kid with ADHD compared to you. Amazing work. Thanks for providing us with a great channel. =)
Hi David, what special white cloth do you use for cleaning up this oil? is it a special one or just a regular kitchen cloth? i ask, because my regular kitchen cloth use to remain some little white fluff on the models. greets from germany. Keep up to great work, never miss a video. :-D
Great job! I was just wondering for how long did you leave oil wash on the surface, before wipping it with a paper towel? And was it dry papel towel or damped in enamel thinner? Thank you
Ugh I was losing my mind seeing all those bubbles under the decals before you fixed them. I fuckin hate using water decals, but they are necessary and do look good when properly done. I still get flashbacks when using decals to the time when I first started using those things and having them look like shit.
Rozhodně né, žádný dvouplošník. Jestli myslíš letadla, tak asi nejaký stíhač z druhé světové v měřítku 1/72 a s jednoduchou kamofláží. Třeba P-40, P-39, F6F, zero, yak-3 atd.
no, tak nejlepší asi t-34.
You have proven that HGW decals work beautifully. But for me free hand cutting of a wet decal on a compound surface looks like a fools errand. I suppose there is a very good reason why HGW does not design the decals to actually fit the panels, so you don’t have to cut them. It would sure be one hell of a lot easier if they did. Fantastic work and most importantly very inspiring, but I think I’m going to leave that kind of decal work to the very talented few.
i.pinimg.com/originals/d9/45/31/d9453129c5eef3dd1e9f0bde1f22e949.jpg looks like an albatros though, don't know how they treat the wood or anytihng but it looks like it.

Such an eye for detail, such patience, such artistry, such talent!

Excellent work as always David, the finished kit looks superb.
Definitively David, you're in a upper category of model build. Thank you for such a beautiful work.
Edit/ Music and model ALL superbly done.
You are awesome!! Great job and thank you for teaching me new techniques. I appreciate your hard work and videos! Rudy from Phoenix Arizona.
My god David! I would've been sweating bullets doing those wood panel decals. Great job!
Just purchased those HGW decals. Was not sure how to approach them. After your video I totally know what to do - thanks! You do amazing work!
The use of oils is what pops up you work , looks great Thanks for sharing
Thanks, David. I started watching this video thinking "This is no use to me, I'll never make a wooden plane", and then towards the end you did the panel darkening and I thought "That would work great on an F-14 or Su-27".
Yep, I'm terrified but I'm at least ready to give it a try. You've done a great job of explaining and demonstrating, David. Thank you!
Using hairdryer for Mr. Softer makes a magic! As it gets warm, the decal will be very soft, and with the help of the airblow, you can set the decal onto extremely irregular objects.
Ger you sneaky. Now I have an extreme need to try this out
Mate your videos are just magic inspiration to watch..Always show how to make a possible happen..Thank you for your work and take care.!

You're a monster. Great and inspiring job, as usual
Hi, Thanks a lot for the video with all the great tips, for big decals it always help if you combine hot air from air gun or hair dryer with the setting solution, no decal will resist this combination!
You really deserve more subs, because this is really amazing, great work and great video.

Normally he does label or tell what he's using for minor things such as brushes, but he didn't this time.
BRAVO, BRAVO too good as usual, keep it up.
Thanks for the great tutorial.
Wow looks good
Thanks for your instruction. Much appreciated!! 👍
Beautiful work👌
Great video! I (or we) would absolutely love it if you make a diorama. 1/72 if I may...
everything will be. :-D

Those decals are a lot of work but the results are very nice!
Beautiful model :)

PLASMO - plastic models
Nice work looking good maybe I can do the wooden decals, seems a bit scery 😕
Have you ever visited the Heeres Geschichtliches Museum (Military History Museum) in Vienna?
not yet. I visited kunsthistorisches museum :-D
PLASMO - plastic models Both are worth a visit. The Military Museum has a Tank Hall and I think you can take pictures there
Super! Masz talent świetna robota pozdrowienia zPolski.
Thanks ! ! !
Great job congrats, I wonder how much it would cost to buy it?
Thanks. This is my first airliner model, so I will not sell it :-D
Yes It`s beautiful, I know you wont sell it but I was just wondering if you had to do one for sale how much would it cost
Will enamel thinner allow you to remove a part that had been glued together? Building this model now and already added the wings and rudder, but I plan on adding the wood decals. Need to remove the wings and rudder so the wood decals can be added.

Fantastic work my friend.... I hope my channel becomes ones as good as yours....keep on that good work....see you in the web
I have a lot of patience, but I would seem like a 6yr old kid with ADHD compared to you. Amazing work. Thanks for providing us with a great channel. =)
do you mix mr hobby surfacer 1000 with something for airbrushing ? and what ratio?
Mr color leveling thinner. ratio 1:1
非常实用!感谢大师的指点!

What was the music around 12:00 ???
Ahoj super videjko.
КРУТО!!!!!!! Спасибо!
Great job! I was just wondering for how long did you leave oil wash on the surface, before wipping it with a paper towel? And was it dry papel towel or damped in enamel thinner? Thank you
I wash off oil paint immediately with a dry paper towel.
What plane is it? Sorry I should know, but I don't remember!
i have a question. didn't they patch that style of plane after it came back from combat
Ugh I was losing my mind seeing all those bubbles under the decals before you fixed them. I fuckin hate using water decals, but they are necessary and do look good when properly done. I still get flashbacks when using decals to the time when I first started using those things and having them look like shit.
nice
Bravo.....)
Love your project. I made similar with woodprix instructions.
very réalistic
sensacional (pt -br)
I love this ww1 flying eagles.

Videa jsou super, ale už delší dobu mi u nich chybí alespoň české titulky
Ještě dnes tam budou. Předevčírem jsem dal titulky k předchozímu dílu s vrtulí. U normálních staveb se mi to nechce časovat. Návody jsou něco jiného.
PLASMO - plastic models dobře jste super kanál a máte super techniky stavění taky bych se to chtěl naučit
už jsou tam.
*Picasso! )*
Could you Show us how to do Weathering on Ships and Submarines?
back to tanks please :) mainly an english version of the T34 video please :) ta x
I must finish some other projects first, but I am preparing for a new t-34/85 from Berlin 1945 www.elginpk.com/worsley1516_1/yu/6.jpg
PLASMO - plastic models in the mean time, can you direct me to.the video where you do oil shading on a tank... i cant find it :)
For example here.
ua-cam.com/video/QI0y6mI1g_E/v-deo.htmlm1s
and here
ua-cam.com/video/LsXCVCySdhs/v-deo.htmlm24s
This time I will do it manually with the help of Woodprix designs.
I prefer to build with Woodglut plans.
Woodglut is a good solution for every woodworker.
I love you're videos and watch all of them but this is not really painting wood if you use a wood effect decal and just weather it with oils.
I think it looks too yellow. It doesn't look like natural wood.
i.pinimg.com/originals/d9/45/31/d9453129c5eef3dd1e9f0bde1f22e949.jpg looks like an albatros though, don't know how they treat the wood or anytihng but it looks like it.
www.dustandrust.com/images/albatross_D_Va_rhinebeck_2008.jpg this one looks a bit darker, still quite yellow though.
