The existing plane, one of only a handful left in the world, is on display at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. I have seen it in person 30 + years ago. I bought a book there published by the museum on the restoration of this plane, with a mind towards building a model of it some day.That museum is unbelievable and the space section has the full prototype progression of space suits etc.

The cable tensioners are always big and big at 1/48th. It’s beautiful, but perfect for 1/24nd !...
