Thank you very much for your kind comments. IPA is Isopropyl alcohol. I forgot to add it to this video.

There’s one thing that can make it look more realistic.
In short: the ends of the propeller must be darker.
Wood has grain. End grain of the wooden planks absorb much more varnish, so it becomes darker after varnishing, compared to the sides. Since the edges of propellers are where the end grain at, after varnishing edges of the propeller become noticeably darker.

Very nice. Thanks. I've finally gotten around to giving a WW aircraft a try, and this will help (If I can pull it off).

What sorcery is this? 😀 Thank you for sharing. I’m going to find a model kit of a WWI plane just so I can try this technique.

Admittedly , don't build bi-planes but been in this hobby a long time and never seen this technique before. Going to try it on some rifle stocks. Thx!

Are you just dragging the white watercolor pencil over all the colors to blend them better?+

Isn't it better to use a light wood brown base coat?

After 15+ propeller painting experience; It's ok but It isn't better than white. This is why i use white intead of light wood color on the new video. Check the first video ;)
