Thank you!! This came just in time- I was cooking my family a meal and wishing there was something that could help me start introducing food back as I am terrified. Thank you for doing these videos!
Wonderfully well-timed, this hyper-specific topic. It all sounds quite plausible but I found myself wondering where things like SIBO and dysbiosis fit in, as they are microbiome-related and not purely driven by scanning/catastrophizing, for example. Thanks!
Ben, how long did it take u to be able to eat many foods when this process seems so long just to eat a piece of bread ? I am now reacting to 'everything' I eat :( I ate 3 green peas - I had no fear at all, how can 3 green peas cause a reaction ? But they did. Thanks.
Ah yes, it may seem like it will take forever if we have to retrain on each and every food in this way. In reality, each time we retrain to reduce our sensitivity to a particular food, we’re lightening the limbic load and becoming generally less reactive. So while the first few make take some time (eg 3-6months or more) in my experience the rest went much faster until I found (after about 12-18mo total) I no longer had food sensitivities.
Systematic desensitization has been around a long time. I first learned about it in the 90s as it applied to overcoming phobias, and it's helpful to folks who are coping with trauma too.
With this logic I guess Annie Hopper stole her ideas from Dr. John Sarno. No one owns the truth of reality or has the right to trademark a philosophical construct.
Thank you for addressing this issue. For some of us its HUGE!!
Whenever I decide to consume a food item which is in my allergy/sensitivity profile, I tell my body, "I allow myself to be able to process this food."

I love how you both explain this process in a simple way. I feel encouraged to move forward in my healing journey. Thank you for this valuable work. 🙏

What food/diet do you think we should be eating? Is there such thing as healthy food or unhealthy food?

@@Ben_Ahrens thank you so much for that reply .
This was so good, I pray and hope I’ll be able to overcome all the food sensitivities that have developed over the years.
What if your nostrils inflame painfully and start running mucus even with the smell of anything?
Whilst we can not give individual advice here, brain retraining, this does all take time and consistency with the techniques.
The DNRS program has been teaching this for years. Sounds like a page out of their books, like you've stolen their trademarked program
Lol you can’t trademark this
