Glad the blueprints never got lost she's a beaut and you never know if a solar flare wipes out our electronics we won't have to go strait back to the plow horse
You have to go to the half century of progress and pull their record 66 bottom plow that big bud pulled in 2009
I have no doubt the case would do it
My guess they will try to surpass Big Bud
A 535 horsepower New Holland pulled 65 bottom plows. A big bud could pull way more. But these clowns on here never heard of gearboxes or hydraulics; so they will keep saying this weak steam tractor could outpull those diesel tractors. Such fools.😂😂😂🤣🤣
Never measure a steam engine by horsepower. Measure it by the torque. The torque on these can be infinite.
These videos are really cool to watch, but the measure is a little arbitrary, soil composition and speed are important to how many bottoms you can pull. So i dont think an "A/B" comparison is really valid unless they were both in the same field on the same day.

Would be Beyond Cool if someone came up with some actual footage of the 150 pulling 50 bottoms 24 hours a day back during WWI while the farmers were gone to War as I had never heard that story before.

If there is enough material in the flywheel i hub I suggest taking it off and splitting the bore then adding 3 or 4 bolts on the side so you can clamp it to the shaft that would be much stronger keep it from loosening up.

Maybe someday steam engines will replace diesel engines again.
There were some pretty smart people back then.
Case made a large number of them (I heard maybe 700?). So they were able to keep the molds to make the individual parts many times. Now Kory has a type of 3d printer to create the casting molds. Truly cutting edge stuff to make century old wonders.
I want to see this side by side with the Reeves 40-140, to see which ones larger.
Where is this place, I want to go see it ???

It will be at Andover, SD in 2023 (Sept 8-10) as well as the Dodge County show in Burnett, WI (Aug 4-6).

150 HP, but ~8000 ft-lbs of torque.

More pull power than the Terex and the NASA Crawler.
You need to copyright your videos, some page on facebook keeps heavily editing your case 150 videos and putting a weird title on them. No creds or anything, just editing and posting as their own.
And only 2 wheel drive! Big bud was 4 wheel drive plus duals
Where's the video of it actually pulling the record? The music spoiled what there was of it! The 2021 video was much better.
yes in both this and other videos I was always looking for more/better shots of the amount of sod being turned. But I can appreciate Kory posting pics of this monster in motion.

Large pulling forces can be conquered easily with heavy weight, good traction and a gearbox.
This impressive tractor has all 3, but so does a good bulldozer.
Many other viewers are also correct that pulling force (torque) doesn't equal power, which is:
force x distance
-------------------------
time
This is where the modern diesel tractors a cell,
with weight, traction, gearboxes and horsepower, which will get more work done in less time.
But, it's sure an impressive machine and record!
It sure would be interesting to see if there is a bulldozer out there that can beat that record....

The largest engine in the world? What about those mining trucks? Aren’t their engines larger?
I’m pretty sure he means it is the biggest steam tractor. So not counting steam locomotives, and any gas, diesel, electric etc engines. There is no gas or electric engine bigger that I know of but there is some Diesel engines and steam locomotives that r bigger, but at the cost of having less power per weight/size. There is Diesel engines used in steal mills and mines that r stronger but they r much bigger then there strength is compared to the case 150 steam traction engine. In any size class, the steam traction engine in its class is the strongest.
I have plowed with a cockshut plow 70 years back.
