Yes, sir! I bet the big one that I found you probably found it before me and discarded it, you may even remember it!!! Next time I’m in Montana we have got to meet up and hang out, hopefully I’m gonna get up there sometime early fall this year!!
@@peterbennett1286personally I think it's a shame that people have to be so stingy that they can't share at least an approximate location where these are being found! I live in the Montana mountains, so I know how big these areas can be, so to me telling people an approximate area is not going to hurt anything, because there's so much area these people that know about this spot will never ever in their lifetime dig up that massive of an area! I despise people who won't allow fellow Montanan's to know where to find some of these! The one good thing is that I know what these guys look like, and so I will keep an eye out for them, and I will just follow them to this area! 👍
Wonderful video, Bryan! Those quartz pieces are insane!! Love those super-dark smokies, too! Glad you were able to lug that huge quartz piece of your down that mountain.
Thanks so much! Yeah, it really kicked my butt, surprisingly I wasn’t really that sore the days after, but it was rough carrying it back, I had to stop about every hundred foot or less and take a break. Hopefully we will run to each other this year out Digging, hope y’all are doing well.!!
@@TheCrystalCollector Would the hike be about equivalent to Crystal Vista in AR, in distance and steepness? It is less of a clear path it looked like there in Montana. I would LOVE to get the chance to dig with you again this year. That was a ton of fun. You did a great job making sure everyone had awesome stuff and were happy with their experience. You set the high bar! My wife's family lives in eastern WA, and I'm planning on going out to the PNW this summer to visit them. I have been watching some of your other Montana videos too, trying to get an idea of places I can stop along the way between AR and WA. You had one video with Nico and Jesse Stewart, and that's a spot I may stop at for a bit too.
Love you guys! got my box in time for Christmas and was not disappointed. Great energy, Cant wait till i can get other goodies from you. Peace and blessings.
WOW! This reminds me of that crystal mine in Mexico that grows gigantic quartz crystals. These here were probably formed similarly. Now they’re just outside littering the ground !!! How fun ❤
I’m jealous I wished I was young and healthy and I could go digging with you guys. You guys need some kind of wagon or sled to drag these home. That is a gold mine,I just love gemstones and you really have a real treasure site! Oh my gosh you really have a cool spot. Oh wow that is a beauty! I love it and it is so exciting, they are so shinny. Beautiful rough! Wow! Congratulations guys, this old woman if I had sound knees I would walk in if I was capable.
Geez, that'd be something else.... I plan on getting the grandson over to Phillipsburg for some sapphires this spring, maybe I should be looking for crystal connections! Considering dragging him to Virgin Valley, too, black opal is about as high on my want list as you can get. Crossed the star garnet off the list, have a 58 carat (cut weight!) one from Idaho.
Wow!awesome!thanks for bringing us these cool locations.i love smokey quartz, the randomness of the growth patterns makes them so unique and original.they can be found with muscovite inclusions
Imagine being the first person to discover this spot before all those massive crystals crushed one another and caved in. Imagine standing in the pocket that created those 400lb crystals.
This must be up by the snowbird mine, the entire lolo creek drainage was shut down a few years back and the only decent crystal digs are up by the snowbird or Delmo .. nice finds ⛏️
Another great video these really help me get through the winter I can't wait to get out there I hunt fossils and crystals the only thing I have been able to find here in maine
By my house there is creek that has huge pieces of quartz. I have lugged some home in my back pack. It was rough getting back up the hill with all those rocks!!! Taking the cart next time!!
So amazing, that would be my dream come true, would love to be able to go out and find some amazing crystals for my collection! I had a whole bunch of beautiful display specimens that I bought over the years, but unfortunately lost most of my collection when our landlord that we rented our storage unit through, decided to take everything because we were supposedly several months behind when we never missed a payment... If my dad hadn't have let me start getting my crystal orders sent to his apartment, I wouldn't have anything left 😢 I miss him so much, he loved crystals just as much as I did, he passed away last year 💔
Hi Bryan and friends. Have just found your u-tubes, watched the jerkier dig from 2 years ago, and now this. Are you familiar with Morello Smoky Quartz? They’re only found near the Grampians in Victoria Australia. Mostly small compared with the large Herkimers, They are double pointed and gloriously filled with rainbows. I bought about 20 from a geologist who excavated them 18 feet down. They too seem to occur in pockets. Just love rocks and crystals of any shapes and sizes. From age 2-3 I had a designated box in our car to put my collections in! Best regards Ruth
So many of the crystals found , woul make good speciens in n aquarium, to set off plants , fosh and crystal . I getting the sense , that many of them would be excellent healing crystals .
Montana is loaded with so many cool rocks. Maybe even more than Missouri! 😂 nah it is. I think there’s probably more quartz in Missouri and Arkansas but nothing like this. I think that makes Quartz so fun there’s so much variety. What do you think am I right about Missouri/Arkansas or is there somewhere else in the country that has more quartz? You’ve been around more than me what do you think?
not in MT, but here in NV, i have a claim with CRAZY variety. On one small hill, you can get: Amethyst, citrine, smokey, scepters, XXL, Golden Rutile, Epidote needle inclusions, Dts, Enhydros, Phantoms, And clear. sometimes all that in one single pocket.
@@TheCrystalCollector Right, a pegmatite just wondering which geologic formation. There are several pegmatites in Montana that are regionally dispersed. E.G. Montana pegmatite, Duelea pegmatite, Stone Creek pegmatite, Keystone pegmatites. All these are different formations in Montana.

@ruthbentley2090 Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here! Ruth, Howdy... back! I'm currently in Michigan, U.S.A. I live with my kids. I was never physically able to rockhound up here... but I've obtained a few rocks from up here by online shopping. Prior to that, I've lived in several locations throughout the Western U.S.! One of my favorite areas to hunt is Mt. Ida, Arkansas, and do mining of the quartz crystals. My other favorite crystal/mineral collecting sites are in Idaho, Montana, and Colorado in the U.S. Do you rockhound? Where and for what? Nice to meet you, Kellye
I thought he told people not to dig under the trees like that because it kills them and can be dangerous? I'm from Oregon and unless it's a old growth forest we have plenty of trees so it wouldn't really hurt to lose a few. Lol
