Last Sunday visited for the first time this magical place. Loved it loved it loved it. Through my Andrew and Animal Aid I of course knew of Billy and his wonderful work BUT I had only ever met him very briefly years ago.
Lucy (my last and now only elderly doglet) and I were greeted by Billy will such kindness and joy; the whole place exuded kindness and joy. The Retreat was buzzing with families coming to see the animals and eat in the cafe and shop in the so tempting charity shop. The volunteers working so hard, the young and old doing what needs to be done. I know it sounds corny but everyone was efficient, calm and just plain lovely.
As for the food - and coffee! - it was delicious and so plentiful. Everyone I met, and I was introduced to many, was a delight. As to the sheep, chickens, horses, cattle, ducks, dogs and pigs I met......well seeing animals who will never be part of the food chain gave me great pleasure.
I have offered my services as a volunteer and will be going this Sunday to work in the cafe clearing tables and hopefully smiling my way through what I gather is always a very busy time. I so hope to do a good job for the place and they want me back.
Will be visiting the sanctuary soon, thank you for your hard work.

@@razthevegan4470 over 20 years of having the pleasure of knowing this wonderful kind man, I visit this fantastic place and have seen the pure love the animals get, every animal is treated with love and respect, I have seen Billy pull and tiny injured bird back to full health, just truly amazing in every way x

@@razthevegan4470 yes, I live nearby, volunteer there, & have (so far!) homed 8 pigs & 3 cats from there! And their cafe is to die for.

You dont have to be vegan to help animals, just as you even a canabel can save a human live, The point is not eat drive, and you believe is all it is, you are deceived. 😂in the wind we have videos of crocodiles saving animals from other predators get some realism into you
