When working with leather or rawhide, we wax the strands making them stay in place while braiding. Paracord needs a sticky coating to simplify this process. Needs to be water soluble. Using needle nose pliers, that have been modified by sanding off the sharp edges, to tighten the braid.
Would the outcome be the same with 6 (12 total) or 8 (16 total) strands? The paddle I am wrapping is a bit wider than normal. By the way I've wrapped about 15 paddles and spears with this wrap and it is a HUGE success every time! Thank you!
Don't you hate it when you get that far, then singe it with your lighter? : ( Very nice wrap and tutorial. Do you have any idea how long your cords were, and how long your wrap became?
when you started you did not weave it in so that it holds and wont unravel if it falls off stick next time weave the top wrap into the strands loops so that the top knot holds it together and binds it.

Отлично! Никогда не мог понять этого плетения по картинкам. Теперь всё прояснилось!
I will give this a shot. The common whipping on my didgeridoo has come loose, and I want to give it a bit more flare. Thanks for sharing this, Mark!
