Thanks for this. Gotta say. I was a little put out by how much I had to research about the game outside the game. These mechanics specifically completely baffle me at how there is no description in game.

Also, Vaan's HP attacks do not get used "together" when he gets Quickening Buffs. When he lands either HP attack enough, he gets a permanent, stacking buff called Quickening (which has 2 stacks total).
At each Stack, he gets added Bravery Damage on his HP attacks.
You should probably clarify that Golbez's shadow dragon is lost when he takes a set amount of damage in a single hit. Specifically 1000 or more HP damage at once. If he takes 1000 damage from separate hits, he'll keep it.

...Okay, seriously, the number of things he's missed in this video is staggering. Not even mentioning the *most important thing about Noctis' warp*. You can cancel Noctis' Warp into Bravery Attacks. If a Bravery Attack lands this way, almost the entire charge of the Warp is refunded instantly.
9:26 you're wrong about that one. Jecht's EX skill cancels all of his bravery attacks and hp attacks. It's best used with either Hot Steel or Jecht Beam, although Jecht Beam is more of a whiff punishing but fast hitting HP attack. I main him and Lightning, just thought I'd chime in.

She's the only natural magic user in VI and while she can use physchical attacks who ever actually used it when they weren't out of mp?
Since her sword is called the enhancer, I always figured it somehow made her magic stronger. But yeah in VI she actually does use it :(
In the PSP game she uses it fore here chase attacks.
I mean... it's only used for aiming......

Plus I think the Dragon is in his ex move dissidia and Duodecim when you hit Square in Ex mode.
Thanks for this Haps, there was a handful of characters i just could not understand what there unique EX skill does, and the game has no way of telling you even a small bit of detail about this, when i first played ace i was wondering why i was just repeatably drawing cards (it basicaly constantly overwrites the 4th card if u try to use it after u have 4 cards), not realizing i had to hold down the button to use them
Considering they made a fairly expansive tutorial mode, im really surprised they forgot the info about the characters EX skills, hopefully they add this in with an update in the future
EvilGod50 cha racter EX are basically shared except for some, uniqueness was removed from EX within NT aside from those who transform.
glad you made this, there's a bit of small details like this that should be in the game (or i hope it will be in the official release). I also hope the official game isn't just the beta with everything now unlocked.
I remember being SO excited when this game got announced seeing as i drowned 200 hours in Dissdia and another 350 in Duodecim 012, I thought it would be like the psp games, but with a bigger map and a bigger cast maybe even 3-4 characters per Final Fantasy, new skills and new combo's, lots of grinding ! . But alas... it was a fighting game which borrowed the Dissidia title, huge let down.
Yep! And this misunderstanding many of us shared seems to have decimated the series 😭

This looks great, but with this many different styles this game must be a nightmare to balance.

I've heard that from august on, they'll start adding a character every month but i don't know for how long. Still, they will definately add more characters
Square Enix says that they want there to be at least 50 characters in the game by the time they're done. They already said in the next DLC release we'll be getting 5 new characters and one returning female character (so either Tifa, Yuna or Prishe).
Right now there's like 28 characters? So 22 more.

Some of these aren't quite right, or you didn't explain the main mechanics or draws of the character. Jecht can block HP attacks, Tidus' attacks dodge at the beginning, Vaan's attacks don't chain, they just get extra damage.
Jecht cannot block HP attacks. Went ahead and confirmed this when recording this video. it also states in his official moveset that its specifically bravery attacks. From what I can see from the movesets, only Bartz's Knight mastery can block HP attacks.
Tidus' dodge isn't mentioned but I suspected it since it shares the afterimage animation with Bartz's Ninja Mastery, which does have it.

You forgot Exdeath , Omniblock also blocks HP Attacks . But Bartz's is faster , while Exdeath with this is a total bane for Vanguard/Assassin that crept closer to him.
What ever happened to the EX Burst moves?, they would have been awesome to do in This Game. Sad :(
in my opinion Cloud is also one of the hardest characters to play just because of his charging mechanic
That makes him easy, even without charging his attacks hit hard and his abilities are stupidly easy to chain together.
A Properly played Warrior of Light who is actively blocking hits meant for his team and intercepting attacks for marksmen is extremely difficult to pull off.
A well played Emperor is like a chess master who is always thinking three steps ahead with his traps.
A well timed Ex ability from Kefka can completely change the tide of a battle regardless of the situation and force the enemy to spend their Esuna Ex Ability.
And all the characters in this one is something I like too
I am not really that good at this game. So far, I'm pretty good when playing as Noct (although I prefer to main as Cloud cause of favoritism). Squall is another I want to main as, but obviously I'm not patient enough.
The only thing I got out of this was that Bartz finally has his own skill set haha

thanks for the video however, I didn't understand your explanation concerning exdeath. It was very confusing. Are his seal and debuff abilities activates when the EX skill is used or when hit when in their respective modes?
his EX skill allow him to change mode.
In each mode his Bravery attacks have specific properties.
So in other words berserker is like a weaker vanguard, nullifer... Is standard and you nullify enemy unique ex and ex skills, Hexer is the weakest but buff the enemies if you use Hexer ex skill you can still debuff even not in that mode
MrHappy. Can you help me please? I want to beat the gauntlet mode thingy. Before the beta ends. But the best that ive been able to accomplish is only 17824 points. No where near the final mark. Can you give tips? What should i be doing? Sorry for bothering.

At Lv3, he is permanently Tranced until KOed. Also, he has a Lv4 buff skill while Trance is up.

If vaan's EX skill causes for your bravery to be permanent, is using share bravery going to deplete your own bravery or will it stay in that value?
It will stay the at value u til the buff is done. Whether you use a HP skill or keep attacki g with brv... But after the buff is done it will be just as it was beforehand.

I hope my Tifa and Prische return to Dissidia. They were pretty much my mains after Terra and Kefka got neutered in Duodecim.
SE announced there'll be a returning female in as the 5th new character. So either Tifa, Yuna or Prishe. Based on what they said I'm pretty sure it's Yuna, though, but idk.
Tifa will be in it but as for Prische, it's difficult because they'll be almost identical after they remove Tifa's unique skill set from 012
Tifa and Prishe have way different moves though? Their bravery attacks and overall fighting styles are nothing alike lol. Only similarity is Asuran Fist and Tifa's first Aerial HP attack (Meteor Strike?).
Tifa always focused on Feints and Counterattacks, Prishe always focused on variable combo attacks... I guess Firion has that a bit now, though...

does any1 know exactly how tight sephiroths inputs are? the video said "the frame" but surely its not a 1frame timing. 2 or 3 frames isnt hard with practice usually
finding that frame for yourself can feel pretty rewarding, its just before the attack animation is complete you want to start dashing again. It does cut some slack and its not just one or two frames. It might feel OP til you realize Seph is a vanguard and his dash meter isn't as good as an assassins'; also it MAY not work with all of his attacks.
It's about as tight as 3 frames.
Seph is kinda useless unless you have good connection to targets internet wise.
3 Frames + Lag/Input Lag etc is a waste of time.
3 frame links with a 6 way connection isnt remotely viable

Are you free to chain to any combos including hp attacks? I only played the first dissidia on psp.
Just Send Bitch you pretty much chain combo the attacks given for said character. Mainly Only Firion can chain different combos like... Forward Forward Neutral, Neutral Forward Back, Back Forward Back. But if you get good with a character, you can probably chain different moves together if you know their range, delay, and position.
Im a little bummed cloud cant stand and charge his ex gauge like in smash :P

It feels so much more dumbed down than the psp version i played
they lowered the complexity of teh combat and made things like positioning and timing more important. They introduced teamwork which make the game alot harder in general compared to the PSP version which was very basic and linear, but had more combat options
Trust me, if they had full access to all their moves like in the PSP version, this game would be no fun since it's based around team play. Can you imagine having 3 fully armed Kefkas to dodge and hoping your 2 teammates don't die as well? Matches would be over VERY quick. Lol

Superior Carnage I believe thats the wind HP attack. All of Garland's HP attacks are named after the special moves that Lich, Marilith, Kraken, and Tiamat used.
Yep, it's called Blaze second HP attack you unlock, it has a draw in but you should have to be close-ish for it to land

Poor Terra she's been through so much in her game from being used by the empire to finding out that she's the product of a Human and Esper. She doesn't deserve the constant beating, excuse my caring for the best Final Fantasy Girl and my love of FF6.

Don't try to play him vs AI, since the AI doesn't have to "see" the traps on camera to know where they are. AI just knows...

So how's the full game? I'm enjoying the Beta but if this is all it offers, just fighting with no real story or story behind each battle you get into then Idk of it'll be worth getting instead of Monster Hunter. I love the series and have since the 90's, playing as Sephiroth, Cloud, Squall, and others on current gen consoles is something I dreamt about being able to do as a kid so knowing that do you think it's worth getting as soon as it releases? Like if the only story content is just simple cutscenes that require you to fight X amount of battles (somewhat like it is in the Beta) then I don't really care for it, I'm hoping that there's a reason for each battle and hopefully each character has their own story arc that you progress through of you play as them (somewhat like how Mortal Kombat has done in the past)
The full game has been put since 2015, this is just a normal fighter with no end game or repeat value. There will be no combat items, at the most you'll get a dungeon system with radical A.i
Ok thanks, I didn't expect there to be any items or a dungeon system (unless you're referring to the arenas) but what I was wondering is if the story coincides with the gameplay/battles or if they're all totally unrelated and the story mode is just cutscenes you can unlock/buy as rewards from the separate Arcade Mode. Say that there's an arc with Cloud, Squall, or Terra that's part of the story so there'll be a match that coincides with that where those characters would have a battle that supports that arc where Cloud would be fighting Sephiroth, Squall with Ultimecia, Terra with Kefka, etc if that makes any sense. Also another question is the leveling system, do your characters get enhanced with anything other than unlocking a new HP attack and are the different weapons you get have different stats than the starting weapon or is it just purely cosmetic? I absolutely love playing it, it's awesome and something I've wanted to do as a kid (to finally have full control of Sephiroth, Squall, and Cloud with current gen graphics), the combat is much deeper than first glance but if there's really no story that ties with the gameplay or character progression(leveling up and getting even slightly stronger instead of just a new attack that only serves one purpose) then it's not something I'm going to pass Monster Hunter World with and just end up buying later. I've got it preordered but if it's the way it is in the Beta then I'm just going to switch it for MHW
Fox Die The battles are all related, the story points to the main villain Shinryu. It's in the previous games back stories, but the final fight in NT is vastly underwhelming. As for leveling, it's nothing just HP gains nothing more than that. As for costumes you get from the treasury, RNG roll your dice ordeal to win ugly costumes.
Tasamaki Kishin Alright thank you, that's what I was wanting to know. Now switching it over for MHW is a hard choice especially since the Beta has ended and I can't get my nostalgia fix. I agree about the costumes mostly though I do love Cloud's other outfits, Seph's is pretty nice with his black wing but the change in outfit that comes with it ruins that for me (I love how they show Materia attached to his armor and bracers, really nice touch that at first I thought were just little beads until thinking about it), Ultimecia having an Edea form is also great. I also like the weapons, mainly Squall's upgraded Gunblades. Can you unlock Squall's Lionheart weapon and limit break for an HP attack?
Fox Die Limit breaks are completely gone and as for weapons, there'll be more design releases in future updates. Idk how much new weapon and outfit design will be created. As for MHW it'd be a lot more worth than just fighting in an arena then playing dress up with the same getup others have..
Unless you enjoy mindless rank system and going to regional tournaments then this would probably be worth.

Great my Fav chara is the most hardest to master Sephiroths cancel dash is basicly impossible to master since there will be much online lag anyway.
Hence why you never see Sephiroth in higher tiers. Unless the person is addicted to pain.
