Being stuck in Wonderland WOULD make you grumpy. Wouldn't blame Alice if she ended up fit for the bed, that expression means fit for a bed in a mental hospital.
I LOVE both “Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland” and “Through The Looking Glass”! I’ve read both books and both are marvelous!! I have Asperger’s Syndrome and to me it seems like many of the denizens of Wonderland and Looking Glass Land do too. Alice interprets their mannerisms as strange, insane, nonsensical and rude-the same way many non-autistic people often interpret the mannerisms of those of us on the autistic spectrum. To me many of their mannerisms were perfectly sane and made a lot of logical sense. Now about them being “rude”........well, let’s see.....Alice follows a perfect stranger (The White Rabbit) right into his house. Most people would say this is not only rude but frightening because this is basically stalking. She walks into the Duchess’s house without any invitation-so to speak, breaking and entering, she snubs the Caterpillar by walking away from him in a huff simply because she didn’t understand his logic (Oh and by the way the Caterpillar is smoking presumably pot or opium which is one way some people with Asperger’s deal with this disability), she doesn’t even consider the Mother Bird’s point of view regarding her eggs and never even apologizes for the havoc she’s creating for this poor creature, she crashes the March Hare’s tea party and then leaves in a huff declaring “That was certainly the stupidest tea party I’ve ever been to!”, she looks down on all the citizens in both lands because their mannerisms are different than hers, she thinks HER way is the ONLY RIGHT WAY to do things and that everybody else’s way is “strange”, “absurd”, “curious” and downright INSANE..........so who’s the “rude” one NOW?

The black Butler and Ouran versions of wonderland are pretty accurate to the book~ The way that the twins from Ouran kept disappearing and re-appearing quickly to make it look as though they were one person, Elizabeth crying a river of tears because she was upset at Ciel in Black butler and how Agni kept using too much pepper in the Curry making everyone present sneeze. If both Ouran and Black butler's wonderland OVA's were to be put together then it would be so accurate to Alice's adventure's in wonderland~

What would make it even cooler is that with the ability to grow larger or smaller, you could either go on a GODZILLA style rampage or go ANT-MAN small and discover a whole new micro world that would lead to another $60 roaming world game.
2 PC games were made with Alice in Wonderland. Both have gothic horror themes, the 1st game kinda sticks to the story & it does feature Alice fighting the queen & the 2nd game is a sequel where we are told Alice's family are dead & she is put in a mental home but as the game progresses, you learn the mental home has a side job dealing in child prostitution & the head doctor is also a trafficker. Alice kills Dr. Bumpy when she finds that out. (Yes, that is his name)
@@labelledamedumanor4876 If you're talking about American McGee's Alice (and the sequel, Alice: Madness Returns), her parents are actually dead in the first game. The opening cutscene of the first game shows how the cat knocked over a lamp during the night when Alice was seven years old, and that started a fire that burned Alice's house down and killed her parents; Alice was the only survivor. The fire left her traumatized and catatonic, so she was sent to a mental hospital. The first game takes place ten years after the fire, when Alice is 17 - she'd been in the institution the entire time since the fire and her parents' death. The second game actually takes place after she's been released.
I used to live in Oxfordshire, a particular variety of mushroom grows there at a particular time of year.... I think I know where Carrol was finding inspiration....
Listening to this, I realized that the Tweedles recited "Old Father William" as Alice snuck away from them in the Disney cartoon (after they recited the Walrus and the Carpenter)
Have you considered that Lewis Carroll might have been born with moderate to high functioning autism? As he grew up, he would likely find the boys a bit too rough and might gravitate to girls who were not so boisterous. As he grew into adulthood, he may have been confused by adult relationships and adult social politics. Hence the continued relationships with young girls - they would be easier to deal with - and the retreat into the somewhat ordered and understandable world of academia. (By It he could just have been a paedophile too scared to actually put his feelings into practice.)
Hmm, actually that's a pretty neat theory. And it would fit in what Jon Solo explained about him. I agree with you that girls usually are easier to deal with ;) But on the other hand, actual pedophilia might be an explanation too. For this, it is important to know the actual meaning of it. Nowadays, pedophilia seems to be used synonymously to child abuse. But that's not the same. Pedophilia (considered as a mental disorder) is the attraction/love towards children. And if Lewis Carroll would actually have been a pedophile, he might have also been a functioning one. Jon stated that he was quite intellectual, so he might have known about the consequences if he would let himself go. But. Love is not all about sex, right? He might have put his feelings into action. Through befriending girls, entertaining them and making them happy. All that without any sexual interaction. Because he knew that it would hurt them. And none of us would want to hurt a person we love either. Right?
@@BlueSmokie it is a calculated abuse but it was kinda normal back then. I mean they basically married 15 year olds like if it was nothing. It is all speculation however, her lineage thinks he was intrested in one of them if you see the documentary. There isn't a way to know for sure.
@@BlueSmokie we don't know if it was abuse or not cuz no one ever talked about it. So it's kinda pointless to go over it with no evidence. I'm just saying if he did do it and he was preparing them, then he was grooming them....and if that is the case thank god they managed to seperate the children from him.
Jon, this excursion through Alice's adventures is a true E ticket (Disney reference for you). I always thought the reason Carroll's books are timeless is because they are 85% conversation, which read aloud beautifully to young audiences. The descriptions and imagery really just set up the characters and their colorful discussions with Alice, who holds her own in return. I'd wager most of her dialogue are things that Alice Liddell actually said during those riverside picnics with her siblings and "Dodo" Dodgson. And yes, the Cheshire Cat may get all the love, but the Caterpillar's advice is where Wonderland gels best.
Jon, are you staying with Disney classics - or will you venture into Dahl, Tolkien, Lewis, Baum ... (actually Disney DID make an Oz flick, but it would make more sense to break down the first - most famous - book and its MGM adaptation ahead of this - America's main fantasy to date)

Hi, I was wondering if you would consider doing an origins video on all the different Christmas traditions we have? Like stockings, trees, presents, even Santa. I'd really like to know where Rudolph came from, too! Love your videos.
I don't think it was weird or creepy that he didn't like boys at all! He was teased and bullied as a child and back then parents didn't jump in like now, most kids had to deal with it on their own. Little girls back then were taught to be kind, caring, and loving, compassionate little caregivers, in preparation for their future roles in life as wives and mothers. Given his childhood and his insecurities, he probably didn't care for "society" , especially if those who tormented him in his youth, and was somewhat immature emotionally, finding himself comfortable and relaxed in the only company that has never made him feel badly...Young girls. Besides, not ALL men are out to attack children, and during that era it wasn't uncommon for an unmarried family friend who was done of children to devote themselves to the friend's children, taking the role of a favorite aunt or uncle. I, for one, have never believed the innuendos made about Dodgson's relationship with children, especially Alice....I'm not saying such things didn't happen, I know they did, but I don't believe it to be the case here.
Ashley Hickey Yes! I love this idea! I would love a “Messed Up” origins of A Charlie Brown Christmas. Depression, no sense of community, the commercialization of the holiday ... that’s the American Way right there. Or, the Nutcracker. There are so many different versions already.

Gee, a nerdy boy with a stutter not liking other boys, so mysterious. Oh wait, boys are more often bullies than girls, especially to nerds and people with stutters. So yeah, the fact most of his childhood friends were girls makes perfect sense to me. I had a very similar childhood.
@Pink_Uniqueorn yeah i have 5 five 9 year olds that I hang out with. Since there is so many of them I got this white van awhile back so I can take all of them with me at the same time. There aren't any windows in the back but it's fine.
The Dutchess and crying baby/pig with the pepper was featured in the game American McGee's Alice: Madness returns. The pepper grinder is a weapon (similar to a gatling gun) and you got rewarded for finding pig snouts and peppering them for the Dutchess
9:40 sick burn 😂 Amazing video (as always) btw! Your consideration of these funny or interesting litte details regarding this story and its background is really admirable and entertaining! Much love from Germany :))
As a long time fan of Alice in Wonderland, I have read the book "Alice, I have been", about the child Alice Liddell. I also wrote a prize winning poem Key-Hole Girl in 2002. Love your series. Just found it.
Liking girls is not odd, it's perfectly normal. I don't think Lewis Carroll was a deviant. He could have just enjoyed the company of young girls. I think children suffer when not exposed to adults socially so it could have been a very positive relationship, evidence points to that. I'm cutting Lewis Carroll the benefit of the doubt.
@Phil Ill not religious at all. You're the one supporting pedophilia by saying it's perfectly normal to have such an affinity for young girls in this day and age
@@andrewflores12 technically paedophilia is just the love of children, not all of them act on it and become child molesters and some even go into therapy etc. To get help. Do I excuse it? No, but if they don't act on it at all then am I gonna berate them, no.
Emma Elisha, I can disagree with that. pedophilia does not mean the love of children, it means feeling sexual feelings towards and directed to children. it's not normal for a man to have a liking towards little girls in this day and age.
@@Irene-zb1zv yeah THIS day and age that wasn't now and he even said that then and now is different. We can't call him a paedophile cause we don't know if he was sexually attracted to women
I agree. Also, children are usually a lot less judgemental than adults, so maybe because Carroll was so self conscious about the way he looked, he preferred to surround himself with children because they didn't 'make fun' of his appearence and stutter.
Been with the channel since you were “Jongasm” enjoying the content, also you happen to be casually giving out any jongasms would you 🙃 cause boy you fine

I don't know if anyone mentioned this but there is a 1999 ver. of Alice in Wonderland that stays close to the book almost perfectly. It is my favourite Alice in Wonderland movie and one of the first movies I ever watched. I wish it got more recognition because it seems that it is greatly overshadowed by the Disney versions. Gee, a nerdy boy with a stutter not liking other boys, so mysterious. Oh wait, boys are more often bullies than girls, especially to nerds and people with stutters. So yeah, the fact most of his childhood friends were girls makes perfect sense to me. I had a very similar childhood.
No he had a lot of little girls as friends when he was a grown man and that was the odd part!
What? I've encountered way more girl bullies than boy ones. Boys are typically just the physical version though.
he sounds like a replica of me
@Pink_Uniqueorn yeah i have 5 five 9 year olds that I hang out with. Since there is so many of them I got this white van awhile back so I can take all of them with me at the same time. There aren't any windows in the back but it's fine.
@Pink_Uniqueorn amen to that. We will not get anywhere unless discrimination ends completely.
the whole part of the book with the duchess and the pig-baby creeped me out soo much as a child.
"Everyone's mad" lol FACTZ
And that people is the best cliff-hanger! "Smash it like the cook smashes plates." :D
I was gonna watch this video Sooner but I was late for a very inportant date
Old man strength is thing best thing I’ve heard all day
Your a great storyteller 💖🤘🏻!!!
I live for these in-depth videos of classic childhood stories. Amazing as always Jon mate!
Jon I love that you dragged 69 keep it up 😂
The suspense is going to kill me...plz post soon🤘😍
I would actually love to hear those poems😍😗
Hi Jon! Please remember to put the link to part 2 in your part 1 video. Btw love your videos!!!!! #notificationgang
The Dutchess and crying baby/pig with the pepper was featured in the game American McGee's Alice: Madness returns. The pepper grinder is a weapon (similar to a gatling gun) and you got rewarded for finding pig snouts and peppering them for the Dutchess
is that a lion king shirt? I like it!
Four parts!? I could barely wait for two!
*sigh*
Keep ‘em coming. 😊
That tekashi line though😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
9:40 sick burn 😂 Amazing video (as always) btw! Your consideration of these funny or interesting litte details regarding this story and its background is really admirable and entertaining! Much love from Germany :))
Do a Messed Up Origins based on Santa Claus just in time for Christmas.
The snake scene in the movie makes so much more sense now
I find odd that in anime and cartoons they have one wonderland episode with whole cast take roles from story
This serie is so good.
Saw the original before he took it down ;v
Wonder why it was taken down though.
it was demonetized straight away
As a long time fan of Alice in Wonderland, I have read the book "Alice, I have been", about the child Alice Liddell. I also wrote a prize winning poem Key-Hole Girl in 2002. Love your series. Just found it.
“Dilly-dally shilly-shally.”
The puppy just always let's me think the wizard of oz and Alice in wonderland are connected
Finally! You're other one was private.
Last one got demonetized for some reason so I put it on private hoping it'd fix itself... but it didn't so I re-uploaded. Thanks for your patience :)
Oh, that makes sense
Gotta love all this weekly JONtent.
I've always wondered about this story! Thank for explaining this to me!
Been with the channel since you were “Jongasm” enjoying the content, also you happen to be casually giving out any jongasms would you 🙃 cause boy you fine
I always remember the Hanna-Barbera cartoon from when I was a kid. Sammy Davis Jr played the Cheshire Cat and sung a song called 'What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?'.
There is a live action Alice in wonderland movie that is based on the book scene by scene. It came out in 1999.
ik which one you’re talking about I have the film and when he started talking about it I was like oh it’s the 1999 Alice in wonderland movie
I love Alice in Wonderland so much so this have got to be one of my favorite subjects yet!!!! Keep up the good work Jon!!!!💙💚💙💚
HE FLAMED 6IX9INE
Love it how in depth you go with this series! Tried once to explain the Alice story to my mom. She said that girl in the story sounds really high 🤣
(my parents are born in Morocco so know how high people act. Pot grows everywhere over there)
"who are you" back then is like modern day "what are thooooose"
Alices face when the baby turns into a pig is priceless. Just over it.
It really sound like Alice is in hell
I absolutely love the shade thrown at Takashi 69ine 😂
why is nobody questioning why a caterpillar is *smoking?*
What an interesting thing about the puppy. Never thought of that
5:20 so basically a meme
The duchess scene is actually in the live action movie from the early 2000s. It's my favorite rendition !
ROFLMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tekashi69! ROFLMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved the tekshi diss in there... lmao caught me off guard, like did he just call him the ugliest woman *an immediate head nod if approval follows*
Anyone Else realize that Melenie Martinez mad hatter is just a brutal Alice in the wonderland
If you have I'd say to give it a watch because it is worth while
