- This Will it Chug video didn't turn out the way that I wanted, but that's life! The results sound like fried horseshit but I did a repositioning of the microphone and it became better. The AmpTweaker Tight Metal is an incredible distortion pedal that I probably should have tried sooner.

You are forgiven sir.
Skinny Raddish 69 that thing is sick af bro congrats
Skinny Raddish 69 thats whats up! Thanks and you too!
Hey Ola, thanks for all the great content! A question for you and anyone else who may have a suggestion, I'm looking for the chuggy-est single coil size humbucker to fit in the bridge position of my Strat Am-Pro.
Any ideas? Thanks.
This video unintentionally became "The Importance of Mic Placement"
Haha
But I actually prefer the first tone.
@@johnyang799 me too w
wow it actually sounds more like an amp gain than a pedal gain
Exactly what I thought.
Lol like you could tell the difference
A pedal called the tight metal, that was designed and built by the guy who designed and built the 5150.... yes, it will chug
amptweaker doesn't get enough attention, they're just amazing
My Tight Metal Pro sounds terrible. Sounds nothing even close to this.
@@thephoenixcycle8854 now they have the tight metal pro 2. Is yours the first pro?
I have one and it's incredible when used correct and on clean amps
The first mic placement sounded way better to me, I was blown away actually, it was probably the best tone I've ever heard out of the channel 😂
Same
Same here !
Totally agree LOL i spend all day messing with the mic to get it to sound like that
I thought it sounded incredible the whole video honestly
I have this same pedal and its awesome..found it used for $100 and will never get rid of it.
Agree.
I think it's based on the Ampeg VH-140c, king of solid state high gain.
Legit cannot find this pedal anywhere. (In Canada)
Obviously this chugs, tried it myself....It's a solid pedal
I wonder if it would make an electronic drim kit chug lol.
Maybe you know how to use it.
Yes, it does. But I wish he would have tried the Fat Metal instead (I own the Fat Metal Pro). It chugs even better. Either way, Amptweaker makes my favorite distortion pedals.
It certainly appears so. One I wouldn’t mind to sample
@@chesapeake566 I tried the fat metal... I found the playing leads a bit thin.. Did you?
So cool that you went back and recorded the second half of this video. Really shows how important mic placement is!
You should make a T shirt that says - I find your lack of chug disturbing.
Zlatko legendo
I’d buy that in a heartbeat 😆
This please.
Or maybe “lack of chug distorting” ?
snoogans213 oh me too!! In fact I think I might go grab a black marker and a white T-shirt and make my own. Then I’m going down stairs and I’ll plug my guitar in and pretend I’m chugging, wait! I know, I can grab a beer and chug it then I can call it..”I will Chug”...HA! I’m on to something now. lol
Thanks so much for demoing it! The misplaced mic seriously made this even better, good to know we're all human after all. Keep it up man, been watching for many years.
Apparently he designed it loosely based on the eq curve of old solid-state ampeg vh140 popular with 90s American death metal bands.
I have been waiting forever for this review. Thanks!!!
I don't know when it happened, but this has become one of my favorite channels on UA-cam.
Wow that changing of the microphone made a HUGE difference... Sounds sicks!!!
So that's how Eddie's tone got it's "Brown Sound" name.
Not true. Eddie was referring to Alex's thick snare tone when coined the term "Brown Sound".
He's been misquoted ever since. Even by himself.
Harvester Of Tone not true the brown sound is a reference to the fact that van halen is shit
There's also the story that the brown refers to the power tubes in the Marshall he played with the variax thingy, basically always playing them cooking and right on their last few breaths before completely giving up.
Hugh tube damn.
Alex Stevenson i guess he can play well. Ill give him that. And his tone must be good, cause i still play a 5150-II but Eddie is a turd of a human being. Blames his face cancer on metal picks, while he smokes a million cigs. Drinks a bunch of booze, and snorts a mountain of coke and speed.
Absolutely love these videos.
This thing is awesome. Also proud to finally be a member
The fastest "Will It Chug" I've seen yet, that thing is wicked,it rips🤘😝 It's definitely the best distortion pedal I've heard yet!! As soon as you got the distortion on Ola I knew it was gonna sound killer!! My favorite new pedal now too,I'm definitely getting one, can't wait
🤘😝
Ola man you make a living playing guitar. You are by definition a Professional Guitar Player.
Thats some interesting editing LOL BTW The AmpTweaker Sounded killer in the end!
friggin love the tone!
You just made my day, had a feeling this pedal was kick ass, now i have to get one :-)
Man that sounded great with the mic set up either way!
Love your honesty!! I have the amptweaker fat metal pro. Awesome pedal! And great tshirt btw! 🤘🏻
Honestly It sounded awesome throughout the entire video. Im super impressed
I love the minor adjustment. You nailed it !
This is the 2nd demo I've heard of one of these pedals, and yes, if you want that high gain sound, it sounds fantastic. Also, all the cool output options on these pedals are fantastic.
Wow man, that is a must get for sure..Love it..
This pedal was used by Trey on the last Mr Bungle album, that thrash metal record.
his tone is great on that album. I'm still wondering how he got the metal tone on the first Bungle album. I know he used a JMP1.
Sounds absolutely sick
I was waiting for this, as Bea was able to get some insine sounds from this pedal. And you there was up there too ;)
That SideTrak loop is an awesome idea. I see all sorts of uses for that.
I love you man, it was an amazing one , I really enjoyed it , thanks 😃🤘❤🍻
The second mike setting sounded just incredible, would love if you could re-record the first part again with this mike set up.
Holy smokas this aint no jokas the tone you got out of this thing in the first 25 seconds was monstrously verocious.
Sounds killer and much better the second time! 👍
It sounds awesome , had my eye on the Amptweaker Fat Metal for a while
Woww. This pedal is really an extreme metal pedal. Liked it so much!
This episode is so professional
Way better the second time ! Leave it to you to set us straight. BTW, there is a new amptweaker tight metal II with many revisions . (Try the pro!) would like to see you review this one . Thanks for kickass tones , Ola
Ola, I f'ing love the clap, keep up the good claps brother
The fact you ducked up so much just made the video better lol love you Ola
I own the Tight Metal Pro for many years. By far my most favorite distortion pedal ever!
even can compete with KSR Ceres ? or a lil Super Badass Distorsion ? ( i know the last one is cheaper but i own it lol )
Hahahaha, like I really enjoy the chaos in the first seconds of your video's.
It sounds freakin killer Ola!!!!!!!
Great sounding !
I've been waiting for this day for a long time. Just use the pro version now. The boost channel is 2x more chuggy
Awesome demo, ola. \m/ pedal sounds killer. I use to own an amptweaker bass tight metal jr. and it’s a pretty killer sounding distortion pedal. I can get a Lemmy sound at a certain setting with this pedal. And it also works well on guitar.
I actually prefer the first mic placement.
Ola, I've been waiting for like a year and half for you to demo this pedal. I think all those technical difficulties require you to do an in-depth review of this pedal. We already knew it chugged anyway!
Finally? I wait for this for 5 years..
Very cool I like it a lot !!
That pedal sounds absolutely crushing.
I think this product is often overlooked because it did not have the aggressive "UA-camr Blitz" that you see with the uniform roll outs of many different types of pedals. This is one of the few preamp pedals that begins to compete with tube amp tone.
This company would do well to put these products into the hands of more influencers. This pedal sounds better than the APEX preamp and the KSR preamp everyone is talking about.
Nice demo.
wow. sounds very good!
I wait for years of the amptweaker review ✌️
Frickin sweet! Now that I'm home and can play it thru real speakers, sounds gnarly, I want!
Sounds really good
Purchasing now!
I have the Amptweaker Tight Drive Jr, and even though its an Od it still can chug and has enough gain for metal on its own. The noise gate kicks ass.
I liked the first microphone placement!
I like running mine into a pog 2 to add a little of the two sub octaves only then into the fx loop return of my amp. Its awesome.
Dude! You ARE a pro! Making a living playing guitar, not to mention owning a guitar company, makes you a 'BRAAAAACCCCCBURP!' pro!
What’s funny is that I always listen to these on my headphones. I listened on my phone for the first time and I thought something was up with my phone speaker. Thanks for forgetting the mic Ola! Hahahaha!
I plan to get the new version of the Tight Metal Pro II once that releases! thing is a beast!
Finally! Tight metal 🤘🏿
Ola is awesome I like him he is very very cool I like how how he shows all the great stuff he tries out awesome awesome thanks again for sharing
Played with Asphyx a few years back and their guitarist ran this into a Boss Reverb and Boss delay then into the effects returns of two JCM900s and they sounded savage!
Ya I was looking for a comment about running into a return!
@@doc_matter this pedal works either way really well. In fact, I prefer it in front of a clean amp so you can use your amp’s clean as well. The “pro” versions of these really excel at that method.
The TightMetal Jr. is just as great, with an adjustable noise-gate and 1/2 the size. It's the best high-gain distortion pedal I own, so I bought two of them!
Sounded awesome
Thx Ola👍🏻
Gallagher from Dying Fetus uses this one un front of a EVH5150. Sick tone. Greetings Ola.
What a monstrous distortion pedal!
I, for one, absolutely love the Amp Tweaker Tight Metal. Of course, the Pro version is my thing.
Do a Will it Chug on the Empress Heavy!
Yes please.
too much knobs for Ola xD
I agree. I would like to see ola’s review on the empress heavy.
Damn that sounds awesome.
Damn,Best pedal I've heard in awhile
I own the pro version. Best purchase I've ever made.
Whoo doggy! That thang sounds crunchy!
Interesting! I'd very much like to see you make a side-by-side comparison of this and the Revv G3.
Ola you should do In the room with this pedal, i just want to see more of it!
Oh Ola the sweed. Kicking asses as usual.
Thank you! I am one of the "requesters"... try the Amptweaker in 'effects return' and use the 'side track' to switch in and out the preamp of the amp you're plugged into ;) (Maybe not on the 5150, but on your regular Satan, you will get this additional Tight Metal/5150 'by a click of a switch'.
And as always - I loved your playing/review :)
Yes I agree! I own this pedal and running it thru the fx loop makes it sound 2x better
That made me feel excited.. wow
I have this one and the tight rock, always wanted you to review it because I love it and the brand deserved more spotlight, I bought it because misery index used it on heirs to the thievery, and album I simply love, I live in stockholm and I had the idea after I bought it that I could have borrowed it to you so you could review it, you were living in the city back then, but I'm lazy and I never really told you anything because laying on the sofa while my cat tried to find a spot to sit on my head was more important
I’m a drummer if I heard that warm up chug I’d be stoked 🤟
Mark Kloeppel of Misery Index had contributed the development of this pedal. It has its unique "roar" which immediately reminds Misery Index albums such as Heir of Thievery.
I thought it was awesome regardless. I was definitely convinced of chuggness pre-revision.
If I was a pedal custom builder, I would build the CHUG IN THE BOX.
Ooh I want to play. CHUG THE LIGHTING OR MASTER OF CHUGETTS.
@@crbulldog5638 , I NEED TO SEND THIS IDEA TO SOMEONE!
Guilherme Aroeira OLAAAAA!!!!
CHUGGING HOSTILE
CHUG IN MY PANTS
I have a Tight Drive on the way. Can't wait to try it with my 5150.
Sick pedal I liked it
Can't wait for that TMP II to drop. Amptweaker makes no bad products.
Now I want one of these things
Yes, we love you!
Also to consider trying out for the chuggy time- another distortion pedal that includes a killer noise gate, the Empress Heavy. And honestly, I thought the Heavy was one of the only high gain amp-in-a-box that included a noise gate. I think it could challenge the Tight Metal.
I use it for bass and it´s also the best distortion I´ve tried!
So we have finally first distortion pedal with "Metal" in the name that's worth buying?
Now we need test Boss Metal Zone vs Tight Metal !
ua-cam.com/video/_5PX4Fl6Mu4/v-deo.html
Here you go bro, that pedal show did this exact test
What about the Boss Metalcore? It was featured on a previous Will It Chug and it sounded absolutely killer, and it has 'Metal' in its name.
Anyone that hates on the metalzone can't use it
The Metal Zone is amazing, it's just that it's extremely easy to fuck up your tone with it if you don't know what you're doing
I have both tight metal pro and metalzone are the same to me. The only difference to me is the amptweaker has a good boost switch, noise gate and heavier sounding and isn’t better for solos too and rhythm isn’t same. The metalzone is good too. If metalzone broke I’ll use amptweaker and vice versa. I like simplicity In the metalzone.
Nice little table for the pedal.
Got a Pro version and its pretty badass! Took me awhile to figure it out. Once I did the dogs when let out
I love this pedal! I heard Rebea playing one on "That Pedal Show" and ordered one the following week from guitar store. I bought the "Tight metal Jr." which is truly great so I bought this one as well the bigger one has more bass response on my 7 string (Nazgul equipped) but I truly love them both and I feel Like I NEED the pro version just to have the set.
Trust me the pro version is incredible. I use the boost setting for my rhythm tone. I would have the boost gain at about 9 o'clock so it sounds super fucking tight and chuggy but not too much gain
>testing the “tight metal”
“I like it at 0, I don’t like tightness I guess”
