becoming a music producer is only a heroes journey through a bunch of scams to realize the plug-in you needed was inside you the whole time
Actually they’re pretty much all inside Bitwig
Yes, stock daw, native tools 🎉❤
Dam I’m high and this was deep af
Producers ruined producing. In the early to mid 90's I used to get $1500 a beat as a no name Producer with local artists. Gradually Producers started undercutting each other and pulled the price down to between 250 to 500 per track. Then they started leasing for $20 a beat or free. Producers have done more harm to themselves than anyone else could.
The lease beat can earn more than the 1500. Because that wasn’t available in the 90s a lot of older producers are either confused, offended, or angry at the model. Some people have it working very well for them and make a living from it. Their reach goes global while your talking about local artists. Critiquing other people’s model of business is salty
So true brother.
@@Reggi_Sample he's not wrong about the undercutting tho, undercutting helps nobody and lowers the overall value of everything. but then again most of the stuff on market is poop anyways because of oversaturation
The same thing happened to me. I had an IG message from some "producer" who works with Dave East. I knew it was a scam immediately when he said he liked all my music. My music is straight dokie. Burnt toast. I just do it for fun. It unfortunately shows lmao. Dude wanted promo money. Nah man. I send you money for the therapy you need from listening to it... not for promotions.
Create a prohibitively expensive music producer training boot camp and call it like...W-Leauge..there's a good sounding scam for ya
Crazy how dude shows absolutely no credentials or any of his work and just calls everyone fake and anonymous who questions it, while being the most anonymous person possible himself 😂
Assuming we're talking about the same thing.
Scam especially if it’s spelled like that
Oh but we are! Dude, he is the most arrogant, narcissist person I've ever witnessed. He's always going on about "fake producers who make fake music" Basically: if you're not shooting for your beats to be top charting hip hops songs, you're music is trash.@@jimmixthurtell
cool to see you covering this video
is it great how music artist today are get famous from everything but actually being a good music artist!
Talent agent seems like a pretty decent scam. Aspiring, inexperienced artists are everywhere these days. Just explain you can't drop names because of NDAs.
Maybe team up with one of those scam companies, selling garbage plugins or MIDI packs to "elevate your mix". People believing in this crap would probably fall for a fake agent, too.
See folks need to stop being hella scary on not saying who it is. I got an email from someone that's tried to charge me a collab fee of 150. Dude went by the name Dee C
He hit me up too. Foh I ain’t paying to work. Everything he do I can do. He might just have more connections. I could see if I hit him up wanting to work but nah he hit me out he blue off my ad 🤣 I’m good g
@@scooch808 What's wild is that I wasn't even as active online with my music and I was confused so I played a sucker to catch one and never replied back.
Also you gotta try them blue cans of white claw variety pack #2 is bomb
Man, I had two friends in two different bands fall for a thing like this. A "manager" contacts them, makes some big promises to them (a showcase at a major venue, putting their music in front of execs at major labels, etc.) - but they need to give him a fee up front (around 10-20k). Yeah, they got a showcase (they had to sell tickets to play it, or pay the venue for the tickets that didn't sell), and they never heard back from any of the labels, and both bands ended not long after the "manager" walked away with the money. I tried to warn them, but...
I do think a union could have some sort of effect. But, it probably wouldn't be that widespread of an influence. Like, I can see high profile projects being pressured into using unionized labour.
But, it will likely be similar to the way it is in Hollywood. Where there's a small core of projects using unionized labour, and a bunch of smaller non-union projects on the side.
Unions will never be truly industry wide in creative work, sadly.
There is a musicians union but they're not as powerful as they used to be. I think a lot of session players are union, like in Nashville and in Hollywood, but otherwise it's mostly classical and Broadway musicians. It doesn't really make sense for regular bands and artists because it would limit what kind of gigs they could take.
speaking of scams: have you covered orchid music`s scam?
Random tip... The Craze and DJ Qbert beef poppin' off right now is pretty good
I've just completely resigned myself to making beats for fun. I"m over here making beats no matter what so fuck it. If someone wants to pay me for my beats, cool. But I'm not trying to make a living off of it. My only goal with music is to make fire beats. That's it. I fucking love it when someone tells me they're vibin to my beat or whatever. That's payment enough, I guess.
Man, just be the artist for your beats. I don't even understand why there's this huge separation between artists vs producers in genres like Hip Hop, where there's a whole other scene of singer/song writers cookin up some bomb shit all on their own.
@@buckycore I’ve thought about trying to sing/rap over my beats but I can’t carry a tune in a bucket.
But the union would be the vehicle to get those guidelines in place
This is full on useful! Thank you. 👏🏻
catch a scammer right - my music ids the best he has ever heard 🤣
Luckily I’m an audio engineer, I’m only giving you songs in person, and I’m probably recording you too lol
we gotta get music producers in congress lol
🧱’s IYKYK 😂
I’m not a UA-cam guy !!! But his on UA-cam make it make sense
I watched this video last week interesting.
I don’t understand what he’s talking about. My Weaver NFT has only gained in value so..
These scammers must be super desperate. They should move to San Francisco and just shoplift. It's evil corporations so they wouldn't feel as bad. LMAO not really this is very much satire and it's like a warzone out there. Also was he promoting his scam at the end?
???
Get free gear for demos and resell the gear you didn’t like but pushed anyway lol
Haha loool 😂 so true though! lol
Well fukin duh……
If my beat is so good and you're reaching out to me, then surely you'll get the $ once you feature me in your magazine or show.....right?
This is Nigerian prince level of "send me $5000 to unlock the millions" level of BS.
Preying on people's hopes and dreams so they make an emotional decision and don't stop and think.
People will pay YOU for your work, not the other way round.
he is right about him being right
I’ve got label releases it’s really simple to find out fake ask the label they work for go to the label website and send an email/look for there name on the site to confirm theyre identity
Punctuation is also simple lol (I’m teasing but fr now)
just downloaded Fl Studio, and he thinks he's a producer 😅
WTF with the filter on his face??
I got a scam for you to try. Create a youtube account and do low quality reaction videos while getting people to donate to your online beggars service of your choice.
😂😂😂😂
dude on my other name i had an offer like this 😂 The only problem was, the guy gassed me up so much, it made no sense. Talking like i'm the next Ye n shit ok bro lmao here is my money 😂😂
