  • This is a 6 week post Hip Replacement Surgery update coupled with the unexpected onset of Vasculitis.
Follow the Journey as I meet one problem after another.
I am a Lady with Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy. A Brain disease. I cannot take blood thinners as I experience bleeds in the brain. I then needed a Hip Replacement that required me to take blood thinners.
Problem number 1. A plan was devised and the surgery went ahead.
Hip Replacement Surgery scheduled on 26th March 2024. Successful.
    Problem number 2.
7 days after surgery, I experienced a slight rash on the legs that escalated to both legs, thigh to toes, crusty, puss filled lesions that were both painful and debilitating along with trying to recover from hip surgery.
    Follow my story.
This was totally unexpected and came out of the blue.
Will this change my life forever.

Was an interesting watch about your hip surgery, loved your "fix" on your leg raiser, I bought one for my hubby & he doesn't use it but with your adaptation I think he might. Also waited right till the end for you to say about a colonoscopy, was my first thought when you mentioned 'blood in stool', mind you it could be a side-effect of longer-term use of aspirin. Are they enteric coated? Might be the cause of tummy pain too. I hope you continue to improve. ❤

I am still waiting to hear about the colonoscopy appointment. The tummy pain has eased off and yes I agree could be the aspirin and also I was on other meds while in hospital too.
Hope the leg raiser trick helps a little.
I thought at first that I maybe could get by with skipping some of the exercises but I think they actually have helped.
Im doing a lot better now. Hardly use the walking canes only when I go out for stability.
Not sure what they were coated in and because I am off them now I do not have the name of them to check.
Thanks for the comment. Tell your husband there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I think I am nearly 9 weeks post op now and doing most things my self.
      Regards
      Jean

I am booked in for the Colonoscopy for this coming Friday 21st June. A bit nervouse but probably not the worst thing I have had to deal with. I just put another vid up about the lead in to the surgery and the prep work needed. I would love it if you could check it out.
