  • In this video I will show you how to make a leather hatchet sheath without using a pre-made pattern! I show every step in this tutorial video. This mini axe was sent to me by Grant Alexander (fellow youtuber) so that I could make him a custom leather sheath. My name is Isaac Odegard and I will help you learn to be more creative from my lessons in leathersmithing by giving you the best tips, tools, and practices! Thanks for joining along and don't forget to hit like, subscribe and hit the bell notification.
    I hope the viewers get a kick out of the antics in this video, come have some fun in the Noarth shop!

    I make this from English bridle leather which is much harder and tougher that traditional veg tan. I also use red stitching and waffle pattern stamps. This video will show you and help to understand how to create leather products WITHOUT A PATTERN by using your IMAGINATION. This project is made with hand stamping, hand finished edges, custom wet-form fit, and sewing on the Union Lock Stitch. I will be using black English bridle leather that I use on almost all of my project videos so far! Including my previous Axe handle guard, Guitar Strap, chef knife sheath, low-pro wallet, and Shotgun Shell belt project. (Link below to the playlist) So a huge thank you for joining me in the workshop on my adventure here at Noarth Creations! This project has been a lot of fun in the making.. Please stay tuned to the channel as I am always working on new content!
    Please leave a comment down below on any feedback, or questions you might have, for it is greatly appreciated. If anyone has any suggestions of what they would like to see made, please comment, like, and subscribe to the channel.. Don't forget the bell!

    Thanks so much Isaac! I love the way it looks and I'm sorry I didn't hear you asking what kind of stamp I wanted. You picked the perfect one anyways 😁 this is so nice I hope to hand it down to my son one day ☺️

    Nice sheath...you made a me little nervous when you run that head knife with you off hand in front of the blade. Also a tip, don’t skive on stone get yourself a piece of glass, your sharp edge will last longer! I would like to have one of those machines!

      Dag, thank you for commenting. Yes I've used glass before and it does work well like you described, however I sometimes prefer using our gravestone because the leather doesn't slide around as easily, gets some grip.
      Your talking about the union lock? They still make them to this day, 100 years later. Ours was built in 1920.

      @noarthcreations777  3 роки тому

      Hey thanks so much for leaving a comment! The sewing machine we use is called a "union lock stitch" thats the make and model. Built in 1920. 100 years old!

    I am wondering what the name of the metal ball stud you used to secure the strap.

      Its the creative process, an improvisational take on a project without crazy planning and making of patterns. Make it on the spot is what I wanted to show in this viddy. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! What was your favorite part?
