This is a great idea, thanks! I love the W800 for the snooze alarm, display, and water resistance. But, the strap is the weak part. This fixes it!

The strap on my casio broke (for the second time) and I was about to buy a new one (again) when I found your channel. Servicing and customizing our own watches is much more economical and satisfying than buying another.

I have also gone through 2 straps in less than 3 years.. shocking really. Let's hope this one lasts longer, otherwise I'll be buying a nato strap. W800h is a great watch, but I bet casio make more money selling replacement straps than the watch itself.
I used the strap from my ae1200 (Casio Royale) and it’s perfect.

I tried your suggestion using AE-1000W strap, but make a little modification by painting the buckle with doff black. Awesome !!!

You don’t have to…just buy aftermarket AE1000w strap with black buckles. Cheaper than OEM too.
Or can you just swap the buckles too? if the size is the same its just a small spring bar at the buckle

@@luisferreira7845 the countdown timer mod ? I can't say for sure, but maybe there's still some soldering lead left on the terminal, or maybe a different module batch has different firmware.

I'm looking for the lug width on the W-800H. Don't care what it looks like I need to get rid of the strap and buckle due to wrist problems. I'm looking at one of these: casio forester watch band replacement velcro but I don't have the measuring tool to measure the lug width. Don't want to buy one for one use.

Very good but buying the ae1000 complete isn't much more than just buying the strap.

Marketplaces like Amazon or eBay, or sometimes a local watch accessories seller. This strap type is used in many model, so it's usually not so difficult to find :)
Can the original spring bar of 800H match this strap? or buy a new one
It is usually possible to use the old ones from the w800h, they should have similar diameter :)
But anyway, sometimes third party straps have different hole diameter. In that case you might need a new/smaller diameter springbars.
Hi! I have the W800H, but is there a suitable shorter band for women with smaller wrists? I had to cut the end off like 4 notches with scissors but I wish to have something looks for presentable.
Sorry, but I haven't found any shorter 18mm band for springbar.
(F91W bands are shorter but they're using pins, not springbars)

Mine came with springbars as bonus from the seller. So, I think, it will vary from one seller to the other :)

The outer side going to be a bit wider at the connection. I'd prefer MRW200H strap as replacement for W217H :)

No, this one is 18mm, while the dw290 is 19mm and the position for the springbar looks deeper.

The strap lug width is 18mm, outer is about 23.8mm

Bisa, saya sudah coba. Tapi ada gap sedikit (± 1 mm dari lug ke strap nya). Nggak terlalu masalah sih...

Sadly this doesnt solve the eternal problem of factory straps being too short for those with 8"+ wrists - for every watch I buy I have to discard the perfectly good factory band and buy a NATO band as theyre the only ones made with plenty of length. I wish manufacturers would realize many of us out here dont have the wrist of a 13 year old, you would sell more watches if you allowed for this neglected segment of the population, I know people who quit buying watches years ago because of this, cell phones gave them an alternative so they no longer buy watches - are you listening manufacturers-?-add another inch or so to the dam strap, it cant cost that much. I have this Casio watch and love it, but ive had to order a new band before I can even wear it for the first time. UGH-!!
