    when it doesn't finish mapping and runs out of battery just let it charge and send it out again. Close the door or block off the area that it already mapped so it doesn't waste battery remapping that area. I like the baggless feature more then bagged. I don't like buying proprietary bags and paying extra money for something I pay so much already to use daily.

    Thanks for the review. I am currently shopping for a self emptying robot vac. One of your big negatives would actually be a plus for me. I don’t want to have to continually buy bags.( my Dyson upright has a bagless canister as do many others). Also from my research there is a 2nd generation model that also has a camera on the bottom. Maps better, does no go zones without using that tape. About it simply not cleaning good....that would be a problem however. The research continues!

      This the latest greatest unless they came out with one in the last month or so. You get what you pay for but if you are already a Shark fan there's a chance you'll love this one. I was hoping I would too because it's half the cost but I'm very happy with my iRobot. You can read the reviews on Amazon as well amzn.to/3wOLMGQ

      @@Zachus I will second that. The AV1002AE is the model you want. It has the updates that are mentioned above that people say greatly improved its mapping accuracy and speed.

    So I just bought one of these a few days ago. My docking station looks like yours but emptied differently. I believe I got a updated version of the one you tested out. I have about 550-650 square feet to clean. It mapped my house after the first run. It wasn’t 100 percent but close. After the third run it was almost spot on. Also I under stand roomba has a patent on the double roller feature. So no one else can have a double roller. Also my robot never ran out of battery. It finishes the job I’m aprox 60 minutes.

    It's interesting that you find having a bag to be a plus, because now you A) now have to buy bags and spend more money constantly, but B) it's also been shown in tests that anything with a bag starts to lose auction power when the bag is as little as 1/3 full. Why do you prefer the ones with bags?

    • @Zachus
      @Zachus  Рік тому +1

      I prefer bags because I've done tons of research for years and HEPA Bags prevent all the dust you just vacuumed up from going back into the air. If you watch youtube and research you'll see proof that a tone of stuff from any bagless goes back into the air. I've always used HEPA vacuums and bags for this reason to keep everything contained. All of my vacuums have worked great.
      With that said, some just prefer bagless for the reasons you stated and others. That's what is great bout it. You can pick the one that works best for you and your lifestyle. The new Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra comes with HEPA bags but also offers a Bagless Accessory for those who prefer that. ua-cam.com/video/-EFUqx2NtuA/v-deo.html

    And 30 min in to cleaning it can back emptied out and then continued on to finish

    I agree with you on the shark IQ. It’s not the best robot I have ever seen but they have added things like no go zones recently. However I still believe that everything you said is true that it’s kind of cranky and it doesn’t clean the best

  • @pgdmed

    You must have bought a first gen IQ. Looking at your docking station/bin, it opens differently then the one I bought. My IQ is second gen and it addresses everything you said you don’t like with the exception it’s still bagless which I like. My app has no go zones, cleans very well with dual brushes. I suggest you rethink a review on the newest version and not the dinosaur you bought. The only thing I don’t like is the mapping which takes forever, but so did my Braava jet m6 mop. If you want fast mapping get the Shark AI or something with LiDAR.

    • @Zachus
      @Zachus  2 роки тому +2

      You are correct. I will be reviewing the newest one in 2022. I have Roborock s7+ review coming and iRobot j7+ with m6 review as well... I've heard good things about the new Shark so I want to try it out. Thanks

      @@Zachus Yes, it’s definitely a step in the right direction. Is it perfect? nope, but it’s way better then the IQ, it’s also better then the basic roomba. Also, keep in mind that the one you reviewed is not the Shark IQ XL, it’s just the Shark IQ. The second gen has the XL on the box which is the better of the two. I hear the Shark AI is awesome, but I have no need to update just yet. My XL is doing great. By the way, I did try out the Wyze Vacuum and I had to get a replacement 3x because of faulty wifi. When it did work, it was beautiful, but once wifi dropped, it was useless. That thing refused to reconnect to wifi. I do suggest a review (if you have done so already) when you can on it, you may have better luck then I did. I didn’t return the last one because I do like it and I hear Wyze has a pending update. I’m a Vacuum robot enthusiast and love these things. By the way, I’m a new subscriber, I enjoy your content.

    I just bought the shark at costco (not on sale). I guess I will return it. Interestingly the one thing I didn't like about the IRobot was that it uses bags. We have 2 large dogs and when I vaccume the house once a week I am emptying our upright vaccume multiple times (it's a shark) (maybe even 3-4 times). It geta full of fur. So this means I will likely be replacing the bags on a weekly basis, or even a bi weekly basis, which will be costly. When I empty our vaccumes I do it outside in the main garbage bin. I much prefer a bagless design. But if the shark does not map well, there is no point to owning it, I'm just not sure the i8+ will work well for us either.

    • @Zachus

      A lot of people have reported they came out with a newer version after the one in this video that works better. Walmart has a great return policy. I would try it for 15 days or so and see how it works for you. I don't have dogs but my bag has been in my iRobot Docking station for weeks. It'll notify you when the bag needs changing. Let me know. Thanks

      @@Zachus So far it's working pretty good, We are under contstruction so it's very helpful keeping the floors clean. I don't have the i8+ to compare it to though. It looks like I will need to empty the bin every couple days, but the house is pretty dirty right now. The bin is certainly smaller than the i8's but ya those bags would get expensive. If the I8+ didn't have the bags I would probably spend the money on it. But those bags are pretty expensive for something I might have to change every week or two. Seems like a real money grab for the IRobot there. If they were $1 each, insteasd of $5 each they would be more affordable. The shark has a filter on the robot and the bin, so the only exposure to dust that gets sucked up is when you empty it. Now I am not in an aprtment, so I just empty the bin into our trashcan outside. Now we had a pretty bad layer of hair on the carpets with 2 large dogs shedding, and I was dissapointed with the hair pickup. But I think once I unplug our upright and give them a through cleaning the robot will probably almost be able to keep up. It does seems to greab a little more of it each pass. It's mapping seems decent but with all the stuff all over the house (appliances and our of place furature, cabinets etc its hard to say right now. The roller sounds superior and less maintenance on the iRobot, but I'd rather remove the rolder and hair mess than buy bags all the time. (I'd prefer not to do either though).

      Mine works pretty good. Maps pretty good. If it gets too full it won't empty too good.
