It means all banks have raised interest rates so it costs more to borrow money these days. People cannot compare the rates of today to the ones prior to the end of 2021.
Damn when I owed on all my vehicles I paid like $900 a month combined for a one owner 15,000 mile C5Z, a one owner 80,000 mile LT1 C4 and a Yamaha FZ09. ZL1 is a sweet car but I have more fun with a couple cheaper cars than one nice car. Something for people to keep in mind. I also find several unmodified cars more fun than one fast project car.
Y'aint dropping a car payment from $1,200 to $800 by lowering the interest rate a few percent. The loan amount and loan term is the key here. With a $60k loan, 5 years at 6% is about $1,200 and 7 years at 2% is $800. Most of that difference is the loan term not the apr.

I had a nicer and faster car than this and my car payment was $864 a month and my car insurance was over $500 a month. I’m 31. Had the car when I was 29. No car accidents, tickets or anything. The car payment was what I expected. The car insurance was a slap in the face.

While not quite as rare or valuable as a COPO, the ZL1-1LE is a car that will most certainly appreciate in value. If Chevy actually fazes out the Camaro in 2024 ,the values will skyrocket ! The best thing he can do is not use it as a daily driver, keep it in the garage, pay it off early if possible, and and get cheaper insurance using it as a recreational vehicle.
