Awesome catch! Would you be okay with me featuring this in my series Weekly Dose of Aviation? Of course you will be credited both in the video and in the description. Thanks!
In the moment it was happening, my mind was blown. I wonder if anyone else onboard noticed! Interestingly, Delta’s operating procedures no longer allow landing on Runway 22 because a couple weeks later an Airbus A330 touched down a few feet before the threshold, taking out some runway lights
I know this feeling! I was on a flight to hawaii on an a330, and as we landed it used its reverse thrust, and it was probably the loudest reverse thrust ive ever heard
Even that firm landing looked smooth. It is like the A330 is just unable to slam a touchdown. It must be a really nice aircraft to fly on as a pilot and a passenger!
@@pepijnbosvelt2526 wowwww! At the time of filming, I was surprised their operations allowed landing an A330 on runway 22. As you can see the braking was intense. I wonder if they’ll outlaw it going forward. It was definitely cool seeing heavies fly low over central Amsterdam though!
@@WindowShadeOPEN I can imagine! Maybe, although it is within safe limits of the aircraft, especially with the winds past week coming straight down the center line. I wouldn't be surprised to see at least some action taken though
What a crazy landing. I know during strong storm bigger jets use the 22 for landing but i thought max size is a A321. Amazing to see an A 330 landing there.
No, that is a little different, even larger aircraft still land on 22 and surely A330s in all sort of types. The conclusion of the report is: Investigators have determined that a Delta Air Lines Airbus A330-300 touched down short of the runway at Amsterdam, after the crew sought to mitigate a perceived risk of overrun and descended below the glideslope. The inquiry says the pilots’ experience with runway 22 - and shorter runways in general - was limited, leading to a heightened focus on managing approach speed. At the time Delta did not provide short-runway training to A330 pilots. But Delta will land their A330s again (if the weather circumstances require it).
The brakes on that plane won't last very long if Delta has to continue doing that. They might need brake maintenance on that plane every two days at that rate.

@lucaas Yes you may. Bonus points if you mention my channel name in the audio description 😀
I love those PW4000s thrust reduction sounds.
Me too
They forgot to disengage the autobrake prior to exiting the runway. Never seen before! Cool.
Iv done that plenty of times in infinite flight
Either that or they just let it do it's thing and see where it gets them, instead of taking over on what is already smooth heavy braking.
Holy... I would pay extra money for this experience!

@3MinutesofAviation Absolutely! Thank you for asking!
Awesome sound & interesting engine spinner too

I have a buddy who flies the A330 and he says it’s a pure joy to fly
They tried this yesterday as well. Didn’t go so well
Oh really? Lots of go arounds?
@@WindowShadeOPEN nope, they put an a330 down before the runway at 22. Damaged the runway lighting and they're getting investigated by the OVV

Wow! very high quality video along with great footage! Am I allowed to use it in one of my videos (with credit/a link in the description)?
Yes, you may
Awesome shot! Can I feature it in my upcoming episode with credit? Thanks!
So we are just going to ignore that someone dropped or broke something as soon as the flight touched down? 1:46
Is it important somehow?

They won't land there anymore since another Delta a330 destroyed the lights
They will again :) @@Tpr_1808

Beauty, especially at 1:51
Absolutely tearing up that runway with the thrust reversers. Pure bliss.
nicely recorded wow
Wow!
That's incredible! May I feature this in a video of mine? You will be credited of course in the description and video!
Any takeoff video for this flight
Hi there, amazing clip! May I feature this in one of my videos, of course you will be credited in the video and description.
Yes you may
Interesting
RIP brakes..
What a hard landing that was I think Ryanair pilots are in the cockpit
You can hear someone throwing up 🤮
Yes… that was the worst part about it. Poor kid sitting across from me. It was bordering on moderate turbulence the whole way down.
delta planes are the direst with the worst crews
Another satisfied customer!
@PoolsideData: so you are a frequent flyer?
