    - Tornado, watched by horses near Shere Heath, on the British Pullman, then roaring up Gomshall Bank at Hackhurst Farm
    - Castle class Earl Mount Edgcome 5043 powers over Worting Junction and braking for a speed restriction through Grately at Palestine bridge
    - West Country Class 34046 Braunton, appearing a 34052 Lord Dowding whistles past Crofton pumping station, accelerates over Worting Junction and climbs up past Gomshall
    - 45699 Jubilee Class, 'Galatea' pounds up through Grately
    - Royal Scot Class, 46100 'Royal Scot' attacks Savernake Bank and then Gomsall bank with the British Pullman
    - 60103, 'Flying Scotsman' climbing Gomshall bank in style
    - Black 5, 45407 roars through Hassocks at night
    - A4 60009, 'Union of South Africa' steams up Gomshall Bank as night falls on a Pullman charter, accelerates its train over Worting Junction, coasting for a halt at Basingstoke in a the other direction, whistling past Battledown Flyover and racing up Savernake bank
    - Merchant Navy class 35028, 'Clan Line' roars past Worting with the 'Bournemouth Belle', on the 1 in 100 past Albury Heath & whistling through Gomsall and on the bank at Hackhurst Farm with the British Pullman
    - Britannia Class 70013, 'Oliver Cromwell' powering through Worting, under Battledown Flyover, across Ditchling Common and thundering through Stonegate
    - Black 5, 45212 accelerates over Shalford Junction and Worting Junction
    Onto the Slow and noisy:
    - Q class 30541 thunders by on goods train at Leamland Junction on the Bluebell Railway
    - Standard class 4MT eases into Medstead and Four Marks on the Mid Hants Railway with a Fitted Goods train
    - Ransomes and Rapier Steam Crane DS 1580 eases forward at Ropley
    - Standard 4MT 80078 and Ivatt 2MT 41312 pound up the bank towards Medstead on the Mid Hants, 41312 potters about at Ropley, Merchat Navy Class 35006, 'Peninsular and Orient S N Co,' waits for the off at Ropley as Standard 4MT 76017 runs in with a Goods van train, and both depart southwestwards for Arlesford.
    - Weat Country Class 34092, 'City of Wells' shuffles through Sheffield Park and powers up past Horsted Farm at 1 in 75 on the Bluebell Railway, with steam to spare
    - Battle of Britain Class , 34070, 'Manston' runs from Corfe Castle to Nordon on the Swanage Line, with 34052 blowing off furiously out of sight at the other end of Corfe station

    11:03 Did they leave the water hatch open, or is it fitted with an automatic stoker?

      Ah - neither of those. The steam at the back of the tender comes from the steam driven air pump hidden inside the back of the tender. Many steam locomotives have had air pumps fitted in various locations, 34067 'Tangmere' for example has one on the left hand side of the front buffer beam, (it was moved from a position under the buffer beam after a few seizures were experienced in traffic. The air pumps allow the locomotive to run with air braked coaching stock.
