Good morning! Really does look like a good healthy and tasty meal, I am always looking for new recipes. I’m no chef myself but this meal looks fabulous, I really love the ideas of eating the dish in a nice piece of iceberg lettuce, I will definitely try this and thank you so much for sharing. One meal I love to make, probably not to many peoples taste is Macaroni Cheese. My mum used to make it and I sort of adapted it and added mushrooms, onion and bacon. I guess it’s one thing I did right as everyone seems to like it… but it’s probably not very healthy. Regarding the living alone bit, back in 2013 to 2014, I found myself for the first time since being a “singly” in the the RAF back in 86, living alone and renting a little 2 bed cottage just off the Worcester road, South of Kidderminster. I did love that little cottage it was called “Thorns Cottage” and was quite charming being about 100 odd years old and had lovely roof beams in the front lounge and was very cosy. I loved being able to organise my little home and have everything in its place and organised (my life goes to pot when things get messy and I just give up trying and then it all snowballs) and having a good routine. Friends, like you say are important as well as knowing your neighbours as you can all look out for each other. But despite living about 200 years from work at the end of the road and all of your work colleagues (who aren’t really your friends about 90% of the time) passing by in the car or on foot each day did make it hard as no one ever called in to say hello. Hardest but was one Christmas it was a few days before Christmas and I was sitting in my lounge and despite being all Christmassy, warm and just having the tree lights and some candles lit. I had Michael Buble playing, I’ll be home for Christmas … and it was kind of lonely. But onwards and upwards it was a life lesson and we move forward
Thank you for sharing your experience 😊 and I too love macaroni cheese but as you say it’s not very healthy but nice on occasions as a bit of indulgence!
@@Lifebeyond50_byburtonandblonde no I like to play with my neighbours kids. Water pistols, cards, bow and arrow, or just chalk drawing on the slabs. In the summer I put the bubble machine on for them.

Omg what this beauty and elegance 💖💍💋🌹💌
Most of my living friends and family live quite a long way away. But I am getting to know some other people who live closer.

My meals tend to be basic stuff that’s fast to make or a slow cooked stew.
@@peterdurnien9084 I love cooking slow cooker meals
I don’t have trouble cooking anything nice, I’m now told I am pre-diabetic. However I have some great neighbours, they have a spare key just in case.
@@peterdurnien9084 yep that’s a good idea 👍🏻
Cost of living going up here, electric doubled and rent has gone up by 20%.
@@peterdurnien9084 its not easy but I guess it could be worse!
Living on your own, mostly lonely and bored.
