- This is a rag written by Richard Saslow. Another pretty catchy tune!! I tried to jazz it up just a little in the second time around. I much prefer Saslow's rags to be easy going, as I think ragtime should be. Hope you enjoy listening to it, as much as I enjoyed playing it!
I think you are a beautiful guitarist. A nice style. You have a pleasant smile. I am also a solo instrumental guitarist almost 50 years experience behind me. I recently repurchased "The Art of Ragtime." I had learned (memorized) those pieces over 40 years ago, time to re learn them!

Boy, this really brings back memories. I remember buying that rag time book. They didn't even know what rag time was. But I loved the black & white cover the little record that came with it. And the way he was dressed next to that vitrola the seventies

Hi Bunny. I bought Saslow's book the other week and have started off with Ragtime Ramble. It's a really good book. I'm 62 now and have played guitar since I was 18. I have got really interested in Ragtime recently so have been learning more and more-see you can teach an old dog new tricks after all.Haha.God Bless.Thanks for your cheerful inspiration.
Hi Raymond! Thanks for your comment. I have a similar history, starting in my teens and am now your age. I took a long break from guitar in the middle, but am now only doing the instrumentals. I bought the "Intentional Guitarist" on Amazon. I like it, but I am still working my way thru the "New art of Ragtime" I have three songs down and five more to go until I move to the new book. 2016 is planned out!

Just discovered her recently on you tube while trying to learn some ragtime riffs. She is an exceptional player. Read that she was a bit of a prodigy. Wonder why she had so many videos from several years back but few or none recently.
