You used to put me In the right frame to steal Now, every footstep tears A hole inside my ear And every instinct tell me Just to trust me fear It's the same same same It's the same same same It's the same same same And it ain't going to change I can see around my mind When you're not near I don't think about you When you're not here It's the same same same It's the same same same It's the same same same And it ain't going to change I can let it spill if you wanna Let it go And I can let it spill "till You're feeling all worn out
#SisterSister the shoegaze is rock. In his moment Medicine sounds like 90´s shoegaze contemporary bands, as some music critics said about Medicine (they did a tour on England with Smashing Pumpkins in the 90´s) in his time. I think that Medicine maybe have some influences from MBV, or other british bands, but his great influence was de American Noise and Art Rock, but playing in a truly original and unpretentious way. It could say that Medicine was the first american underrated "shoegaze" band.
"No Input Mixing" is the first principle you have to understand when "decoding" Medicine. Lanier used a Yamaha 4-Track cassette recorder to distort/feedback his guitar..something Lou Barlow used also was known to use. A duplicate signal of the input was fed into a channel of the tape 4-track-distorted by the 4-track's limited preamps, and sent out, Feeding that signal back into an AUX, would create a "No input Mix/feedback/loop".
Funny Jez, I was suppose to see Medicine open for Swervedriver but there bus broke down. Cool thing, we got to see them the next weekend for free..Yay Medicine! Beth sang "one More" to my face, kinda scary and beautiful at the same time...Medicine
teofeo333 Dude....She did the same thing to me in Providence, RI at a place called Club Babyhead. Totally freaky. She was kneeling on one knee and just having a staring contest with me. It was awesome and intense
In '94 my gf at the time pinched this CD. When we stopped seeing each other I lamented the great loss of my CD. So much so I bought it again with no regrets because it was worth every penny!
Hadn't heard much about this group outside of their brief appearance in The Crow, but that brief appearance was definitely one of the cool things I remember from that movie. This song is just as instantly memorable - I don't know what it is, that riff just grabs you by the spine and won't let go. And don't get me started on the vocals...
I found it for $5 a couple weeks ago. Even for $5, it was worth it. Planning to get the Captured Tracks Label's "Shot Forth Self Living" which includes bonus tracks and a live cd. Goes for around $30
The first time I listened this I didn't understand it. I would just pause playing at the guitar riff in beginning because it was too much distortion for me. Now I can see how good this song is.
seeing the endlessness of time and fate’s rapid movement… as well as the way people change and always make it a big belief of theirs… i know you can change but is it gonna stay…? or fade away and adrift into another’s lonely day of lovelessness…?
Who stole from who: My Bloody Valentine or Medicine? Kidding, I know it was the sound of the time and that certain music from certain time periods tend to overlap with their similarities. Amazing stuff, really. I've seen them before.
For awhile now, there's been talk of adapting The Darkness into a movie, with "a clear nod to The Crow in mind". If this comes to the fruition, please pull Med back together to perform this song sometime during the movie ala. Time Baby
I saw Medicine in the early 90's at the Roxy or Whiskey (can't remember which?) I was standing beside the right main speaker which turned out to be both a good and bad thing simultaneously. I'm certain it cost me some permanent hearing loss, but my God, it was worth it!
They are Shoegaze...they are real grunge distortion...they tapped into the real energy within music and were in it the vortex of noise in the moment of purity in time in imagination and a original moment, moments.
I feel like these guys were better than My Bloody Valentine. At the very least, their work trounces anything that's not Loveless and goes toe to toe with anything on Loveless. You can't deny their incredible influence though, but it would have been cool for these guys to get more recognition
Most underrated band.
which is still understating it
I like the part where Brad's guitar is loud.
I've never fallen out...
Their cd's are some of my most prized.
I was hoping that they'd make it big after the The Crow soundtrack... such good music... they deserve some recognition
😊

I saw this band in Silver lake in 94..
i wore out two copies of this tape as a teenager... still love this album
It sucks that so many good bands like this slip through the cracks. Makes me feel nostalgic for the '90s.

I saw the Dallas stop of that tour one of the best shoes I've ever seen. Doubleplusgood!!!
@@colonialsrv I was there!!! I watched her stare it you... It was freaky as all hell, but brilliant and hypnotic. Swervies are my favorites!
Saw them live three times. Love forever.
Awesome. That guitar sounds a bit like a cross between "Hit to Death..." era Flaming Lips and MBV. Really friggin' cool.
Didn’t know they had a video for this!
Saw these guys at mercury lounge in new york in the early 90s. Amazing show!
In '94 my gf at the time pinched this CD. When we stopped seeing each other I lamented the great loss of my CD. So much so I bought it again with no regrets because it was worth every penny!

I remember being the only person I knew with this CD. They shoulda been so much bigger.

SWEET! Never seen a Medicine video but god I've loved them for years...Brad Laner RULES!
What a great song. Last weekend I was at the Princeton Record Exchange and found the cd for 2 dollars. It was a great day indeed.
I found it for $5 a couple weeks ago. Even for $5, it was worth it. Planning to get the Captured Tracks Label's "Shot Forth Self Living" which includes bonus tracks and a live cd. Goes for around $30
Loving the bass!
This song is amongst their best , they should of been exposed more !
Don't worry I will do that
Never thought I'd find a video of this song. Awesome posting!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome song!!!!!!!!!

Who stole from who: My Bloody Valentine or Medicine?
Kidding, I know it was the sound of the time and that certain music from certain time periods tend to overlap with their similarities.
Amazing stuff, really. I've seen them before.

If U had the Ability to Put Ur Time Machine in Reverse this is what the NINETY'S would sound like and if Ur Reading this than Ur Stuck in NOW
I want to legally marry this song
❤
She's in a group called The Shway.
It sounds like polka at the end
As if the music wasn't enough for me, seeing Beth Thompson move...the Universe is
very complex.
BRING THEM BACK!!!
Yes, they are.
DAMN, They were good! Maybe they should get back together again!
Brad Laner was and is brilliant...
Brad looks like Al Pacino circa 1974
at a restaurant on Hyperion...Casita del Campo

Stargazers unite :
Hail Her Highness, the Lady Beth !
brilliant logic.
Top band. Underrated compared to the brit ones, they hadnt the fame they deserved. Genial mix of dreampop, noise rock, wave beats!
@veedub87 can u imagine jonas bros though?
They are Shoegaze...they are real grunge distortion...they tapped into the real energy within music and were in it the vortex of noise in the moment of purity

@perfectringofscars who isnt?
Sunset Junction? Are they the same Medicine playing at Culture Collide??
😎👟🎸
where can i get this song?
I almost wish all music sounded like My Bloody Valentine and Medicine...
what are 1 and 2?
I feel like these guys were better than My Bloody Valentine. At the very least, their work trounces anything that's not Loveless and goes toe to toe with anything on Loveless. You can't deny their incredible influence though, but it would have been cool for these guys to get more recognition
LSD
great! but nothing beats heads
iLL tRACK
@dano555666 not so much.. MBV sounds nothing like Medicine.. they both have their own unique sound..
de la csmreee eso es shoegazing
If this band would've hit, they would suck, don't you think?
I'd much prefer not to imagine jonas bros. I'm not quite sure what you're saying here.
Why shoegaze? I mean WTF? is it rock - YES, pretty good too
+Sister Sister Agree.
fucking master piece
My Bloody Valentine
Sounds like Medicine
