Almost impossible. The car will be sold long before you can arrange an inspection. Low mileage Lexuses and Toyotas sell immediately.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry's and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.
That has to be one of the worst-looking aftermarket "cold-air" intake systems I've ever seen. They kept the factory intake funnel but removed the next part of it, so it basically steers the air into the side of the hood. The actual filter and intake pipe into the engine is facing the opposite direction. I guess they're thinking the air is somehow going to take a U-turn inside the engine bay? 🤣
I own an evo and this is pretty much how beginner evo owners do it, there was a time I directed it almost the same back in the 2000s. When I had money I just redirected intake in the lower right of the bumper as a real CAI
That car is so simple to tell fuel trims the software is pretty in depth and free. It has a manual boost controller and the K&N intake was CARB certified and it was $380 junk. The dirty exhaust is 3in catless and it probably has a bigger fuel pump. Any change to the intake tract and it needs a retune. If the guy put some stock parts back then its a screw you to the next guy with the tune.
Scotty is right about unreliable automatic transmission for most cars. While the same ones with manual run for decades without any issues and low cost.
The problem with cold air intakes is the filter parts are not ducted like standard intakes. If a shroud or duct is installed over the filter part then maybe it will work better.
There are ones that actually do that, but they're much less common than these messy ones that don't really work. Without the ducting (and potential heat shielding of a good system), the open ones like in this car are basically "warm-air" or "hot-air" intakes. It's the tunes and the larger intake piping that do all the work here.
I don't know if it's the same in America, but I assume it probably is, that to do an OBD check on a Mitsubishi with a scanner you have to have Mitubishi's own MUT scanner... and you can't buy them because they're only for the official Mitsubishi dealerships and no one else can (offficially) get one because they won't sell you one. They still use the same OBD socket as all the other makes but the software system is Mitubishi's own and they;re not compatible, even with expensive scan tools.

I need to buy a car thats AWD, that I can drive teenagers around in. And I have a super tight budget. Looking at either Subaru Forester Honda CRV Toyota Rav4 Thoughts? I put 2000 miles a month on it. 🤔
I need to find one of these types of cars. All the 2007-2008 Corollas I’m finding online have 175,000 to 225,000 miles on them (or more), and they want $7,000 to $9,000 for them, with questionable body integrity (I live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area where they heavily salt the roads in the Winter, and rust is a problem). My wife (disabled) and I live on Social Security, and $7000 is about the limit of what I can scrape together, so if I buy a car, I need it to hold up for awhile before it needs any repairs so I can save up for them.
This evolution is a perfect example why you need to leave those cars for the Enthusiast’s or people with extremely deep pockets. It’s an amazing car with the right TLC.

Cars like that low-mileage Lexus sell very quickly. I've called about them immediately the advert appeared and someone still beat me to it. It's very frustrating trying to find and buy one. Dealers want a fortune for them.
Scotty - is this to destroy the cat converter if not already or the o2 sensors with the raw fuel? U think for emissions is checking the exhaust so not polluting? I had old late 90s car with cel on and costly to get off for nys inspection. This car ok for states not checking this.
I'm like 8 months too late... currently hating my car. It has a leak at the differential end of the cv shaft so I got under there and realized that I can slide it in and out, so I take everything off, and now the cv shaft won't come out no matte what I do. I've spent two afternoons on this and now I need to borrow a ride to work tomorrow
What year and model is it? Did you look into how to remove CV shafts on it? A lot of them have nothing or a weak spring clip that holds it in the transmission. The front suspension is what mostly keeps the axle shafts from ripping out.
Possible that you need to rotate the axle and then try pulling it off. They typically have a 3mm cold rolled C-Clip which locks the axle in the diff/trans.
@@gregorymalchuk272 It's a 1998 toyota 4runner. I did a lot of research before trying to remove the axle myself. In every guide or tutorial I've found, they just say to pop it out with a prybar, but that isn't working for me. I've put so much effort into prying that I can confidently say that it's not coming out. I'm sorry if I'm coming off as rude but I'm just very frustrated with the situation I've gotten myself into. I appreciate the reply.
Get a second, third and fourth opinion before you spend that kind of money on a single repair. The alignment should be around $100 so they are taking you to Timbuktu and back with that price on the rack!
#! rules beside all this,.....never buy a car owned by a kid,....never buy a car from the ghetto,.......never buy from an auction,..unless you can inspect it & drive it,....never buy if its had more then 3 owners.,.....never buy these days with no service records or without clean carfax
My sister-in-law just bought a 2012 Ford Focus S.E. that is giving her a lot of problems,. Now it my turn to get a car, so I would like to know what you think is the best used car for the price.

Best to have at least $1000 in reserve for repairs when buying any new car
3:45 sums up about mitsubishi
hello scotty, i have a 6th gen celica 2000cc 175hp, can you please do a video talking about it? engine and other stuff, thank you
This evolution is a perfect example why you need to leave those cars for the Enthusiast’s or people with extremely deep pockets. It’s an amazing car with the right TLC.
2 fingers is a good rule of thumb on the pre-owned market.
Wow, a Lancer featured on your channel? Never thought I'd see that.
The EVO interior has the same quality as a YUGO !
That's part of the appeal of cars like that. Highly tuned powerful s**tboxes
Hey Scotty. I just recently got a job at Genesis. I am just now starting as a tech/mobile detailer. I want your opinion on the Genesis company and their cars overall
Thanks
Hi scotty can I put the at205 and the Lubegard in the gearbox at the same time? My car is vw gofle 2.5l 2012
The sign of bad exhaust is bad fuel mixture and or tune up.
The Lancer Evo? Most would know what they are getting into. And replacement engines from JDM? The most expensive used engines. Why are Honda VTEC cars Jacked? Boost breakage.
Yes, crap!!
I wanna get a cheap lancer Evo and just rebuild it to near stock specs .. maybe 300 or so ponies one day
I had a 2008 lancer es front wheel drive 5 speed
Great car with a manual
2.0L N/A
Cars like that low-mileage Lexus sell very quickly. I've called about them immediately the advert appeared and someone still beat me to it. It's very frustrating trying to find and buy one. Dealers want a fortune for them.
probably been modded but not tuned for the mods ... hence it running rich.
“They’re honking so they must love Jesus” says the blue haired old lady😂😂😂😂. She probably had a turn signal on too.
Did Mitsubishi get any better today? Or are they still disposable cars?
On 3:57. Isn’t that an 80’s redToyota Celica? Why do you display that when talking about a junkie Mitsubishi? Isn’t that heresy?
It is treason 😂
Scotty - is this to destroy the cat converter if not already or the o2 sensors with the raw fuel? U think for emissions is checking the exhaust so not polluting? I had old late 90s car with cel on and costly to get off for nys inspection. This car ok for states not checking this.
Burn outs aren't good for any car. Hard on the whole drivetrain. Spinnin ain't winnin.
Turbo is bad on that car and it's not making sufficient pressure or maf-map-oxygen sensors are bad.
Chilton or Haynes, or Motor manual.
If internet was to crash, paper documentation becomes valuable.
@@fromthebackofmymind that could be the case. I’ll try when I get home. I did rotate it but never really tried every angle
4g63t is the best 4 cylinder money can buy.
But try changing the spark plugs on a V 6-cylinder Camry. Not something that can be done quick.
i changing the spark plugs on the 2009 Toyota Aurion V6 it’s take 2 hours 30 minutes
@@ThienTran-ko5xy Yes, that's quite a long time just for spark plugs.
I have a Mitsubishi Outlander no problems at all
I like all kinds of music, as long as it's Country.
Safety alert. Don't stick your finger into hot exhaust pipe. lessons from someone who did that many years ago and burnt my finger.
Miss you, Uncle Scott. I hope that you don't hold my mothers actions against me! She is the one that did you wrong, not us. I love you!
2009 lexus es350, 86000 miles...rack and pinion replacement and alignment $3100 😢😢😢
Get a second, third and fourth opinion before you spend that kind of money on a single repair. The alignment should be around $100 so they are taking you to Timbuktu and back with that price on the rack!
This video could have been ended as soon as you showed the awesome 2005 graphics on the side😂
No trouble codes are due to Aftermarket ECU tune.
Mistubishi made the Dodge/Plymouth Colt for Chrysler. It's a rebadged Mistubishi Galant These Mistubishi's are cheaply made
Kept mine running on salvage yard parts for years.
Why is the a X on the windscreen? 😮😮😮
#! rules beside all this,.....never buy a car owned by a kid,....never buy a car from the ghetto,.......never buy from an auction,..unless you can inspect it & drive it,....never buy if its had more then 3 owners.,.....never buy these days with no service records or without clean carfax
that Evo deserves better
Lol my Suzuki SX4 still has original struts…. 215k miles strong and still okay 😂
If I was to guess, on the Mitsubishi someone changed to bigger injectors thinking more fuel more power
Go into ecu map and adjust fuel for new, higher flow injectors. Whatever Denso ecu programmer you can buy.
Please tell us about subaru crosstrek 2012
Love the scientific method. Finger measurement lol...
My sister-in-law just bought a 2012 Ford Focus S.E. that is giving her a lot of problems,. Now it my turn to get a car, so I would like to know what you think is the best used car for the price.
Get a g35 ...You can do so much to them and there fast
Loose wires cause fires
Honda's are number one! Period.
Is the 3.3 V6 better than the 3.5 V6 in terms of reliability?
What do you consider high milage Scotty? I know it depends on the vehicle but in general
