North GA Public Land Hunt, December 2022

Each year I try my hand at my favorite bit of public land (that I’ve been on) in North GA for a late winter whitetail deer hunt. With roughly 30,000 acres of steep, unforgiving terrain covered in thick forest, it’s always a tough hunt. On this trip, like the others, I came out empty handed. The biggest battle I faced on this trip, was the weather. Out of the five days of open hunting, I think we had a day and a half total of sunshine. The rest was full of rain and fog, making for a tough trip both physically and mentally.

I hunted chestatee last November and it is indeed a hard hunt. I had a blast and will be back this December! I can't wait!!

Honestly I can’t remember. Found it at my local Cabela’s and it’s been great.

I have not. It’s hard to break away for more than a week at the moment for me and I really enjoy this particular area, but I’m always down to try new places.
